  1. Past hour
  2. Connelly is the other player we are negotiating with.
  3. I liked Moses, but remain unconvinced he could have been a starter for us. Most of the goals he scored were when we were in "throw the kitchen sink to grab an equaliser" mode. He was less effective in the starting line-up.
  4. I have to agree, it was with the 'rights' of the legacy members that I had a concern, for example, do they retain the right to vote on Society issues. To me, it wasn't clear what the situation would be. I emailed the Society, but no-one has responded as yet (it may be that they are going to collate all/any questions and respond in one go).
  5. There’s something about Moses that makes me think we could regret letting him go. He’s got such a weird running style, he’s quite awkward and he’s not my ideal type of striker ,,,,, but he can score goals. I think he’ll do ok wherever he ends up. im not overly fussed about seddon going, I always felt he was average. Both Paton and Davor give their all but I can live with them going. lets hope we see some new faces soon.
  6. Today’s update states: “The club remains in dialogue with the remaining players who are out of contract.” Surely that’s only Thompson now? Or am I forgetting anyone else?
  7. The GTF list remains incomplete: https://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2025/06/16/player-departures/
  8. We definitely need a solid DMF. Whether thats Sylla or someone else, Im not overly bothered. But he has always loomed a bit of a "unit" whenever we played them. Always thought that would end up being Wee Al's settled position. Not sure why he was always seen as a box to box player. With the players due back in today, hopefully we will get some more movement on contracts soon.
  9. Today
  10. I can only go with what the Dundee fans say about him and the general consensus is that he was one of their best players in a poor team and they're gutted to lose him. Must admit any time Ive seen him he's looked steady if unspectacular which is probably what we're looking for, unless our new man has his eyes on something better.
  11. Lennon Miller played in a team that shipped goals for fun and struggled to create last season. So it's possible to be a good player in an average (or worse) team.
  12. Not at all, I think the more discussion and ideas being exchanged, the better.
  13. Bad management , tactics and coaching ? Eventually got him sacked maybe ift was managers fault.
  14. Apologies to the forum. I shouldn't have posted my response to David in public. It should have been in private. I don't want to influence anyone else's answers to the consultation.
  15. Don't know much about Sylla, I must confess, and I'm aware of the Ebbe Skovdahl line about statistics but we've already signed a defender from a Dundee team that conceded 77 goals last season (highest in the division). Not sure signing a 31 year old defensive midfielder from that same team is guaranteed to help our defensive solidity...

  17. Yes. Overall, I found it cumbersome and confusing to have to constantly switch between 1) comments received in the initial consultation 2) proposed changes in light of that consultation and 3) the comprehensive detailed proposals and D) the the actual voting form when casting my vote. The information provided in 1), 2) and 3) was useful however; it was just the way in which it was presented. Specific examples? A) I agreed with the proposal to simplify adult membership tiers but wasn't clear about the status of legacy members who had paid in considerable sums in some cases; sometimes in a single lump sum. Why should they be allocated en masse to the 1886 tier and not to a higher tier? B) Code of conduct: I agree one should be introduced but don't agree with specific wording about "perceived" bullying, harassment and discrimination etc. Either its bullying / harassment / discrimination or its not. For the record, bullying / harassment / discrimination etc is totally unacceptable. Someone's perception can be wrong. I get though that this is a wider societal issue. Suggested text seems to say that it doesn't matter what someone does or says rather its whether another party is offended by it that matters. C) Major votes policy. I agree with its introduction but think that 75% is too high. I would have thought that 55/60/65% was more appropriate. That still represents a clear majority. Also, the triggers for a major vote are too loose and ambiguous. For example, what is the meant by a "large scale" financial decision? Is the defintion £1m or £2m or maybe £5m? Lines have to be drawn somewhere though. From memory, I may not have recalled everything 100% but thats the gist of my concerns. To put this in context though, well done to the those on the Society Board who drafted these documents. I know from bitter experience just how difficult and time consuming it is and the ramifications of defining a term loosely that only becomes apparent a later date, when some party takes issue with it.
  18. Has the boy Syla signed yet, would be a brilliant signing
  19. Can you provide some examples? Don't feel like you have to, I just found this comment interesting.
  20. Your pre season routine is not going well, I have the fear for the season ahead if that's the standard 😬.
  21. You could be right regards the minimal time he has spent at each of his Clubs. But only time will tell if the same thing happens with us. Hopefully he will turn out to be the long term solution we need. Of course we could have gone 'safer' by appointing either of the two you mention. Some no doubt would have preferred we had gone down that route. You also highlighted that you go along to games to support the Club that is in your blood, even though on most occasions you do not expect to be entertained. I wonder exactly how much you would have have enjoyed what either Neilson or Docherty would have dished up entertainment wise? Wimmer was a breath of fresh air and for the first time in what seemed like forever I actually enjoyed going to matches. It was no longer a chore which I felt obliged to carry out. So I was disappointed family circumstances brought about his departure. But I still don't know if he was any good as a Manager. Comparing him to Askou, it strikes me that Askou has more of a track record and might have more to offer. But every appointment is a gamble so we will just have to wait and see how things work out. Maybe come the end end of the year we can revisit whether going to watch Motherwell is less of a habit and a bit more of an entertainment. For both our sakes I hope it is.
  22. Any managerial appointment is a risk. I am glad we have went leftfield and if Askou is taking this job as a stepping stone then the only way he can progress is by doing a good job with ourselves. In other news I offered my neighbour £20 for a shot on their stairlift. I think they are going to take me up on it! 🤪🤪
  23. Neither up nor down with that news.
  24. You've nailed my thoughts word for word there.
  25. Scottish football is stagnant . All the usual home grown managers play same type of shit football tactically. Learned from the same books probably . One team plays one way so the other sets up to negate that. This along with playing each other 4 times if not more a season does make for boring stuff , boring managers with no room to trying something different . It's boring as fuk to watch. The majority of games in the league now are well below the standard they should be .Maybe someone from outside can bring something different along and bring back a bit of excitement back into a Saturday. I live in hope. And by the by this attitude is reflected in the National team as well. The manager makes watching paint dry seem exciting.
  26. If we werent continually having to look for a new manager what else would we have talk about during the close season. Seriously though every new manager is a risk. This one is no different to anyone else we appoint. He might bugger off after a season or he might just bring something we've all been looking for and become a club legend. Either way I'm more excited about this appointment than I would be if we had gone with one of the recycled shit tactics Scottish managers.
  27. Yes, a comment box to explain our thinking would have been very helpful.
  28. As many folk should absolutely participate I liked you could vote per item had there been a comment box on the form I'd have liked to give my reasons for why I'm not in favour of certain parts etc. but most seemed fine.
