  1. Past hour
  2. Shiver me timbers!!! I think Williams already in short space of time looks a great find. Mistake for goal ( imagine if Wilson had made that error, would have been slated), but he didnt let it affect him, brilliant pass for goal, as was Lowry's
  3. Yup i think vogt will do just fine. Jeez folk had him written off after 30 mins in friendly. What i loved about him was his celebrating for Said's goal, also Jake GR who made a point of highlighting Whyte's contribution. Shows you how quickly these lads integrate with the squad.
  4. I'm confident the club have the competence to agree a lease with DHSWMT that protects our interests. Other people might disagree but if we can't make Dalziel Park work for us it's hard to imagine that we would have the competence to acquire land and build a new training ground from scratch.
  5. Today
  6. Having watched the goal (again today 😀) it’s very impressive the effort that went into the goal. Three newbies involved, but that was some supporting run from Williams, especially being at 85 mins. He was in defensive covering position when Whyte won the ball and did you see who was up close to Said when scored? Cap’n Tom Sparrow. ( ok! How many of you done the Pirate voice in your head when you read that? ) 😂
  7. Although we don't know the terms of any agreement or lease with the Memorial Trust, there are various legal and financial risks. Its quite possible, that at the expiry of any agreement, that ownership of the buildings would revert to the Trust. Could we acquire a mortgage or loan to finance the building assuming we don't pay for it outright? Could the Trust at any point require the demolition, at the club's cost? Are we paying ongoing ground rent or lease fees? Do we require the permission of the Trust for any future phases of the development? Who comes good for the maintenance of the surrounding infrastructure eg access roads? A lot of the devil could be in the detail, to which we will never have access. Now the Trust seems an honourable organisation and I'm sure that it is. However what if ownership changes at some point during the lease? Would the next landowner be so understanding and co-operative? Now many of these concerns may be totally unfounded, I just don't know. However the above potential concerns can be summarised as having no control, over the land on which the facility is to be built. Thats my concern.
  8. I’m hoping we well and truly scud them but I’ll be happy with even the narrowest of wins. I’m really hoping we can kill the game early and give the likes of Oscar and Faddy a bit of a break.
  9. Starts at noon for me, so I'll need to book a long lunch.
  10. Same here. I was 100% on board with the latitude given to the World Cup referees and would rather see a few potential fouls not given, than a dozen soft or non-fouls.
  11. You've totally misunderstood the post and the reason for highlighting what I did. You are correct that funding a training complex today with £15m in the bank from the past two summers would not need finance, however is our bank balance inversely linked to how rules and process are applied? We got into a mess in 2024 because Dickie was lockstep with McMahon and the WS was neutered and sidelined. We had a vote forced on us under flimsy reasoning which failed because ultimately it was amateur with too little on offer to carry the majority, 1 in 5 still felt £2m on tic, over five years for half the club and full control was worth it for some US razmataz and potential doors that may open. Even with Bair's imminent sale and Lennon in the building. In the aftermath things were tightened up, there was the recently announced Working Together document, as yet it's not been published, we are the only fan owned club that hasn't published their's. One of those things introduced was the Major Votes policy because the WS recognised that not everything could be delegated by the membership to the elected board and what triggered one was defined. It was adopted last summer. Now you may be in the shoulder shrug, "it's a football decision", "too much overreach", "I don't care" which is your prerogative and you would get to express that, show ambivalence, abstain or soapbox if you choose, however it is completely unrelated to if the policy is invoked by what is in black and white and the spirit behind it's writing. It is a multi phase commitment, on surrounding land we don't own with a multi million pound commitment (at least £3.5m from what we can see and I'll be generous and say £1.5m from what has still to be revealed. If you think £5m does not constitute "Large-Scale Financial Decisions" then let's move on to the provision below. "Selling club assets (stadium, training ground, or other major facilities)", the inference here is selling them needs a vote, then funding them does too. So I guess the question is where is your line in the sand, does selling Eli Just for £6m grant decision makers a hall pass and the ability to cherry pick which rules apply? Undoubtedly it would cost more to secure land and not a metre or two beyond our building's footprint. A 4G pitch and floodlights in the middle of the existing running track is +£1m. In the event of anything happening, that investment can only be retained by the Memorial Trust, that's +£1m spent we can never realise. Not as if we'd even be allowed to roll up the carpet and sell it. Kilmarnock's Bowie Park, is costing over £7m. The first phase features full-size pitches, a nine-a-side pitch, and a 250-seat spectator stand. The completed facility will house a multi-floor complex including a gym, tactical seminar rooms, medical rooms, and changing spaces to bring the men's first team, youth academy, and women's team under one roof. Importantly 9-10 acres of land can always be resold and realise value, an isolated changing room block, kitchen, offices, gym and lecture theatre, not so much. Killie's 4G pitch at least would sit on two acres of their/Bowie's land. Killie/Bowie get into the mire, Bowie Park can be sold and could very well be an ACME Cala Homes estate to help them out of any bind. To your question, buying land (where?) .... aye very good, you're a lot better than acting that dopey. The issue here is with the ink still dry on the Major Votes policy, it was either overlooked (best case), actively ignored or cynically brushed off (worst case). If you are cool with that, then fine, you do you, but don't take cheap shots at me for still believing that integrity and consistency matters. As for clearly misunderstanding the costs, the difference here is mate, I've at least shown a degree of effort, research and working. You may disagree, but beyond just saying it's a load of shite, I've not seen anything tangible than a very easy line to wheel out on a forum which took you all of 10 seconds to type.
  12. I emailed solidsport reply below There are two different streams for this match. One has Finnish commentary and is only available in Finland, while the other should be available in the rest of the world, including the USA. https://solidsport.com/motherwellfc/watch/hjk-helsinki-motherwell-fc
  13. HJK are showing the game. https://hjktv.fi/hjk?fbclid=IwdGRzaATe8wtjbGNrBN7zBHBkb2YFZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQMMzUwNjg1NTMxNzI4AAEeITbeUUnNXll6zBUR-7jxknNwmBG9OuX2jPA_RyGzXVyhLzKWVRF3YLAQDcY_aem_6VyK2zL76RJRDIlYTQ8sWA&sfnsn=scwspwa
  14. I did think it was quite noticeable over the course of the weekend how many soft fouls our referees were still giving. Its like the World Cup just never happened for them. Shame, once you got used to it, I quite enjoyed the fact that players werent being rewarded for "buying fouls".
  15. We should fully expect more of the same this season from the SFA and its referees, if not worse. Even less accountability, more incompetence, and the same old arrogance. They’ve got away with it in front of the footballing world and simply doubled down. They’re beyond redemption now. It’s only a matter of time before one club, or a group of clubs, takes collective legal action against them.
  16. I think Vogt will come good once his fitness gets to the required level. Its been a big step up for him, but there are certainly flashes that he is getting there. I love this part of the season when there is a promise of good things in our future. 😆😆😆
  17. It's available in the civilized parts of New England. What happens in Texas is anyone's guess.
  18. Our settled midfield double pivot is Priestman and Fadinger. However, if we move to a 4-3-3 or 4-1-4-1, then maybe Girdwood-Reich comes in to play that defensive midfield role.
  19. C'mon The suggestion was no that bad , was it
  20. Vogt seems to have fast feet. Not quite Said standard (yet), but showed a few more flashes of promise in the Hibs game.
  21. I was quick to criticise Vogt after his Fir Park debut because he was utterly shite. Since then, though, he’s started to show flashes of real quality. He’s still rusty and can look a bit off the pace or, at times, like he’s never played football before, but I’m happy to see him proving me wrong.
  22. Me thinks the team selection suggestion was as popular as my jokes!! 🤣🤣
  23. Ye almost certainly pal that would be the case. Have a nice dayyyyyyyyyy 🤪🤪
  24. I've only seen Vogt once but I was very impressed. Once he's fully match fit I think we'll have a cracking player on our hands.
  25. The manager said at the weekend that we werent in a position to rest or rotate players at the moment due to not having completed our summer business and having a few injuries to key players. He said that might change when we get a few more in or players come back from injury, but right now, he will pick the best team available and worry about the next game when it comes. With that in mind Id expect pretty much the same team that started v Hibs and similar substitutions as and when required.
  26. I assume that will be available here in the USA as well since I watched the first leg against HB using solidsport. Was easy purchase and decent stream quality
  27. I’d think that the training regime at the moment would be focused on rest and recovery alongside tactics rather than full on heavy training sessions.
