No doubt how many feel. And I get that. But way back then those folk purchased a life membership for whatever lump sum they were asked to pay. You may not like it but that is the deal the Society willingly entered into. And it provided a much needed boost to the funds ingathered on day one. I suspect that is why the route you suggest has not been tried. And also why, when these new proposals were first looked at. so called Legacy Members were protected. To the annoyance of some it appears. But if you seriously want to cancel the contract that was legally agreed, then how do you feel about refunding them the sum paid? Not a serious suggestion by the way but appropriate. After all, it is not as if those Members really get anything tangible from being a Member..... other than the feeling of helping their football Club. Any monies paid are effectively donations. Perhaps the real challenge should be to try and encourage those Legacy Members to start up a regular payment. Rather than threatening them that is. Some already do contribute monthly and I know a good few...myself included....who are considering doing so given the progress we have seen of late Board wise and operationally. Also, setting aside the Society, if you entered into an agreement to purchase something outright, be it a pair of football boots or a house...... or a Membership, would you react positively to being asked to pay again several years later? For something you already own. I think not. If the Society adopt a rule from now on that future contributors must make regular monthly payments or pay an annual fee then that is a different matter as those signing up accept those terms when joining. But it is an issue that deserves discussion. If only to clear the air.

Lionel are better player than the other two IMO Just a shame he didnt always turn up Lionels ability coupled with Humphreys attitude would make some footballer
- Today

Anyone who paid a lump sum to join has had 10+ years of membership, that's plenty. Give them until the end of the year and they then need to start contributing again.

We got 300k in compensation due to the fact that he was developed by Motherwell Just asked he who knows more than me - my brother and he said he thinks we will be due something but not a massive amount

I agree and there is still hope. A good few teams around the globe ...and top teams at that....often line up 4-3-3. I think it just comes down to whether you have a Manager who wants to win more than he wants to avoid losing. And it appears our new man is fairly attack minded given the right blend of players. The opposite of Kettlewell in other words. I guess Killie will switch from 4-3-3 to 3-5-1-1 or 4-5-1 this season. Their fans will love it. Hearts on the other hand might be looking at 4-3-3.
-
I might be wrong but I thought that we agreed not to take compensation when he left in return for a percentage of a future move.
-
I really hope so .Liked him when he was here gave us a bit of power and dig up front. Looked like a handful for defenders.
-
Scored against us in the 3-2 game in April.
-
If only we could find another Peter Hartley.
-
He has a good amount of first team games for his age and captained Burton Albion for most of his time there, so has some leadership qualities. Looks like a decent signing to me.
-
From looking around Watt seems like a creative midfield player with an eye for a pass. From reading reactions his main drawbacks is he gives away cheap fouls round the box and he was arguing with the fans when he was the captain at Burton. Majority of St Johnstone fans seem to think he's a decent player for what it's worth

Unusual for club to put out a video that doesn't show you about 5 clips of Section E

Im really concerned with the change of signing strategy 😉. Whatever happened to signing aging players or those with a history of injuries ? Whats going to happen to our poor physios this season ? In all seriousness , overall ticks a lot of boxes . next step please bring back Alan Campbell . Could do with a bit of steel in the middle of the team .
-
Cheers. Generally avoid watching the videos the club put out. Can't stand the editing and music style.

He's behind Sparrow at about 5 seconds here https://x.com/MotherwellFC/status/1937888523849511076?t=Q_ZiVVVLZqlGhkmTATAbhA&s=19

Do we know if Miller traveled to Holland?
-
I just wish once,,,,, just once, that we’d sign a pacey winger, a Chris Humphrey, a Marvin Johnson, I’d even celebrate a Lionel ainsworth. I know to some folk just now it’s old fashioned football and they are not “in style” but for the purpose of entertainment and getting to the bye line and whipping a cross in….. give me wingers all day long.
-
Not a particularly exciting signing, about whom I know very little, but that means nothing. We do need a core of solid citizens in the squad though, something we lacked last season. I wonder if he is a target we've tracked for some time i.e. mainly not of JBA's doing.
-
Consensus is he is comfortable on the ball and likes a pass. Struggled with his fitness when he first arrived in Scotland so only found his feet towards the end of the season. Scored against us at Fir Park in the 3-2 game but I have no real recollection of that! Has certainly played a lot of first team games and is still only 25. Would appear to be the right demographic if he has the quality. Maybe our Miller replacement?
-
You did read the line under the one you quoted? 🙄🙄🙄
-
Or wait and see how well he plays for us.
-
Not really sure Watt to make of this signing! (Sorry Grizzly!). Never really made any impact on me when Ive seen Saints (if he even played against us). Will need to wait and see what the Saints fans over on P&B think. Although they did say Bair was shite so......

I see Carlisle have signed three strikers already so good chance we could get Luke Armstrong off them as itlooks like he's surplus to requirements
