Fadinger, Longelo, Moorman and Said were all good but I gave it to the kiwi keeper Paulsen.

That was a great win. Not near our fluid best, but there were some brilliant passages of play at times. The defence did OK, but there were some nervy moments. We do allow teams to cross the ball into our box far too often and far too easily. You could see that it was early season though, our press disappeared in the second half. Did we just run out of steam? More movement is needed to link the middle to front, and a bit more pace required in the approach play in the final third. As everyone knows, we need a goalscorer. We will get better.

Has Said finally grown up? I mean in terms of taking on more responsibility. He seems to be the main man in terms of creativity. Hopefully he has seen what Just has done and been rewarded with a move and has the focus to do similar this season. Get a contract extension for him, as he is worth the money for entertaining.

Considering where we are in preparation for this season, getting 3 points today is a tremendous job.

Could’ve been Whyte and Lowry for their 2 touches each in the winner but having given it to Oscar in euro games it has to be Said today. 🙌 pS I can totally see why Poulsen and Moormann are getting votes though.

We looked excellent in the first half and like others have mentioned RCC should have scored , at 2 - 0 game would have been over. Hibs for 15 mins in that second half were in control and we looked to have lost the plot. Missing some steel in the Steelmen so to speak. The winner was brilliant - a classic counter with 1 touch football. We look and are far from the finished article, a few players getting up to speed, a few to recover from injury and a few more unknown to arrive. BUT all things considered plenty of reasons to be optimistic. 3 points in the bag for the first time in XX years after game 1.

Similar to last season, trying to maintain possession but a bit more willing to play longer ball now and again. I think we had a good balance between long balls and keeping possession. we should be looking forward to another season of being entertained by MFC. our second goal Was superb.

Moormann looks like a decent find he could be top drawer for us very impressed with him. Pulman a bit iffy on crosses but some top drawer saves,good with his feet. If we can get a couple of bodies in the door for the final third we will only get better.

As first games of the season go that was utterly brilliant. Not the greatest game or performance but we got it done and an excellent move and finish to clinch the win, which overall we deserved imo. After playing on Thursday night I was worried that we would perhaps run out of steam today and at times it looked like we would in the 2nd half but we picked up and did on day one what we failed to do until the last weekend of September last season.

I’m exhausted after watching that. Best game of the weekend.

Great result and it buys the manager and squad time to settle further. Fantastic to see Said on the score sheet. Hopefully it turns him into a goal machine. I did not see the game. What was the style of play like? Similar to last year or very different?
