  1. Past hour
  2. I had to watch back as well. There was a slight pull on his shirt/ arm by i think brian graham just before he headed it into arfields path. Point being that if not for that pull, he would have made a better clearance. Would have been soft IMO but not as soft as what saids goal was chopped off for, which is presumably his main gripe. Easy to bemoan not going into half time more ahead, but we should have been. Not a lot you can do if the officials are trying to chop goals off like that. Shocking decision.
  3. Today
  4. You rattled MJC,s cage and he stood up to defend his big team.
  5. Yes. He’s earned all the credit he’s had so far, and I’m fully behind him. But that doesn’t make him immune to criticism. Credit where it’s due, and the same applies the other way, because he got it badly wrong at the weekend.
  6. And 'not being funny' wasn't meant to be a pun 🤪🤪
  7. Not being funny folks but this is supposed to be chat about the semi-final.
  8. Ah you've been on the States too long now and forgotten that there is no method in sectarian logic in the west of Scotland. No logic at all in fact when these two excuses for football clubs are involved.
  9. Was trying to stay out of this debate, but I cant let this one pass as its just not true. Ive followed Scotland home and away for 40 years and whilst older generations of Celtic fans definitely favoured Ireland over Scotland, that was more to do with the ongoing religious bigotry some of them experienced living in Scotland than being "anti-scottish". The younger generations have no such hang ups as their lived experience is quite different. Football in Scotland has always been divided through politics and religion, it didnt start in 2014. To pretend otherwise is to re-write history. As for Rangers (a very British organisation) doing more for the national side than Celtic? Jock Stein, Billy McNeill, Jimmy Johnstone, Danny McGrain, Kenny Dalglish, Roy Aitken, Paul McStay, Mo Johnston, Frank McAvennie, Scott Brown, Kieran Tierney and more...... What I will also say is that the notion that there arent huge numbers of Rangers fans within the Scotland support is also for the birds. They just arent as visible as they used to be as club colours and identification have been rightly discouraged over the years to prevent discussions like this from occurring. Thankfully, they never occur when Im away following Scotland as no-one really cares what team you support. We are there to support Scotland and thats all that matters.
  10. Of course not. But I was responding to the discussion about Rangers fans supporting (or not supporting) England, which seems to have upset you for some reason. That doesn't magically make me pro-Celtic, unless you follow the Old Firm method of sectarian logic.
  11. As opposed to having the Irish tricolour on all their shirts in some form or another and flying the Irish flag and also allowing Irish rebel tunes to be played in their stadium. Also allowing banners and flags glorifying IRA terrorists.
  12. I dont disagree. But even if he does that, we still have the same issue when Longelo goes off injured. I guess we could put Halliday in there, or bring Balmer on and shift McGinn across. None of those options are ideal though. Not my intention to bash the manager as I think in general he has been fantastic for us. But there are one or two things that havent been quite right.
  13. Having an England shirt as their change kit doesn't help their case.
  14. Celtic fans tend to be a lot more anti-Scottish than Rangers fans do. I think more of them now associate themselves with Scotland/being Scottish since the 2014 Independence referendum but that’s more for political reasons rather than football ones. Rangers have probably done more for the National side than any other club over the years. There was a time that the vast majority of the Scotland support was made up by Rangers fans, back when football and politics weren’t so unhealthily intertwined. They’ve also supplied some of Scotland’s best ever players like Ally McCoist, Jim Baxter, Barry Ferguson, Andy Goram and more.
  15. The same as foul throws and tackling from behind. All very random.
  16. This is the problem. There was a note of zero tolerance of jerey pulling (particularly in the box) at the start of the eason last year (I think). It is now very selectively picked up on. It was also meant to be an immediate yellow, which didn’t happen on Sat I don't think (when RCC was tugged back)
  17. I think he said that McGinn's jersey was pulled in the lead up. Having said that, jersey pulling seems to be an acceptable part of the game now. Players are rarely penalised for it. Remember Scott Vernon's ahem... penalty box "tug" on Shaun Hutchinson in the 2014 Pittodrie classic (he almost ripped the shirt off his back)? By concidence, Steven MacLean was the referee, the same as last Saturday!
  18. Ordinarily that would be an option grizzly and it could well be but not for me this time,he's hardly kicked a ball this season,he will be far from match fit and isn't the most mobile at the best of times.i think we will most likely move O'Donnell over but whatever happens we will definitely miss the attacking threat that longelo offers if he is out for a period of time.
  19. Aye, I'm not sure how this myth has originated. Admittedly I don't know thousands of Rangers fans personally but of the dozen or so I know reasonably well, all are Scotland fans and almost half are in the Travel Club. Our granddaughter's partner has Scotland memorabilia plastered all over their house.
  20. Halliday has played left back a good few times in his career, a possible option if Longelo ever injured
  21. Think that's a myth perpetuated by the celtic fans who like to see themselves as the best Scotland/ Ireland/ Palestinian supporters
  22. Apologies if it's further back in the thread, but can't see anyone mentioning it. JBA was miffed at McGinn being fouled for one of the Falkirk goals - didn't see it in any of the highlights, anyone able to shed some light?
  23. As I said above, it comes down to poor game management from JBA. Koutroumbis should’ve been replaced by SOD at halftime, but instead, he waited until it was too late.
  24. I think this is a fair point. Not sure Ewan Wilson is ever going to be good enough, but I wouldnt have let him go on loan without a replacement. Its not like he is getting game time at Raith to develop anyway. You could argue that putting SOD, McGinn or Koutroumbis in there doesnt particularly weaken us there compared to Wilson. However, in a situation like Saturday, when you have a player who is just back from injury being asked to stay on and cover, when he is already struggling, you run the risk of that player breaking down again. We want to avoid that kinda shit heading towards a big semi final.
