It was over as soon as they went 1 goal up. Our only chance today was scoring early and then adding a second to subdue them. They were always going to be too physical, too ‘streetwise’ for us.

Gordon is the weak link in defence. Said not doing enough. Just is not been given the space to operate.

St Mirren will get pumped in final anyway. Old firm are improving. Least we're above them in league. We been pretty ineffective in final 3rd and dodgy again at the back.

Fine margins. Ball breaks nicely for them and they finish. Fadinger was fouled and ref gives nothing. Mirren player similar incident, foul and then they take it whilst ball is moving. 2nd goal was a good finish off a nothing ball which breaks nicely. This referee has allowed them to kick. Their goalie has been time wasting since they scored. Sometimes the football gods are against you.

That's a pretty fair summary. They go 3 up it's over.

No complaints so far. That first half sums up our season, plenty possession can’t do anything with it and we’re duly punished for it by a side who can actually put the ball in the net. This will end at least 0-3.

We’ve played alright but St Mirren have given us a lesson in finishing.

Firdt half ends 0-2, it's going to be tough now. Pretty similar to most games this season, not playing badly but no cutting edge up front. The last time we scored 3 goals was the 3-3 draw with Hearts .

First goal shouldn't have happened, the free kick right before was moving before hit and it was also offside. We've been very wasteful in possession, too many passes giving the ball away. Stama back to his usual of being a yard short. Frustrating.

Celtic have spent about £16 million on Trusty and Nawrocki. I know Nawrocki is out on loan also but you assume they would be the priority.

Quietly confident the likes of Longelo, Maswanhise and Said can do something on the wide open steppe. Also the chips are good at Hampden.

Hoping for a re run of the semi against St Johnstone, where everything clicked that day. C`mon the `Well.

Over 9000 is brilliant. I just hope we can win and play the way we can. If we do that we’ll continue to get more people coming back.

Good post. Agree that our approach is more varied now and evolving and seen ward hit it route one a few times now when needed. We've learned from past games. Come on ye well! Let's do it!

Looking forward to the game — no doubt it’ll be a tough nut to crack. It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if it went all the way to penalties, though I’m not sure my heart could take that, to be honest. Hopefully it’s one of those days where everything just clicks for us, because the football we’ve been playing lately has been a real joy to watch. I’ve been impressed that we’ve started adding more variation to our play too — moving away from the “keeper must pass out under pressure” routine and going a bit more route one when the situation calls for it. They’re definitely a team we owe one to in cup competition. Ever since Darren Smith scored his first goal for the club as a 17-year-old at Love Street in the League Cup back in 2005 (he’s 37 now!), they’ve had the better of us — knocking us out of the Scottish Cup three times and the League Cup once since then. I still have nightmares about Billy Mehmet’s late winner, and that first half in the 4–4 draw in 2020, which ended with arguably the worst set of penalties we’ve ever taken. Here’s hoping we can build on the feel-good factor around the club and make it a memorable win.
