  1. Past hour
  2. A good comparison. He’s been absolutely brilliant so far.
  3. I think there are a lot of things going on with Maswanhise at the moment. Firstly, he must be really disappointed that he hasnt got his big move over the close season like a number of his team mates. As the leagues top scorer, he probably thought it was a shoe in. Thats disappointing for him, but also for us as a club as we havent got top market value for him. Secondly, with the turnover of squad, he is no longer the main man up top. We have a number of players putting in top performances and challenging for his position. That will have him feeling the pressure a bit. Both those things will have him bursting a gut to prove he is still the main man and worthy of a big move. There is no shortage of effort from him. He puts in the hard yards tracking back and is always looking for the ball further forward. You can question his decision making (I have) and you can highlight his current poor form (I have) but the player hasnt spat the dummy. Now it looks like he is going to be with us until January, I think its time we circle the wagons and put an arm round him and see if we cant help him recover his form. He is our asset, and January is last chance saloon for us to make any money out of him.
  4. I think we’ve probably moved on from criticising Vogt to just feeling a bit sorry for him. He looks like a fish out of water, unfortunately. Probably best he’s kept out of the matchday squads until he’s up to speed, although that depends on him actually having the ability to play at this level, which is very much in doubt. Otherwise, send him out on loan and see how he gets on in a lower-pressure environment.
  5. Was it not a two team league that was proposed with total backing from the media. Where the two big teams play each other every week with each game broadcast live on tv. On a more serious note I sense a bit of a change in the type of football being played in Scotland top leauge now with the emphasis on passing etc etc which started off with us and has even spread to St Midden. Don't think it will ever spread up north to Aberdeen tho they will always be cloggers kicking teams off the park.
  6. Maswanhise wasn't terrible last night, 2 assists. A few things that didn't come off, but he's a threat and the opposition know it. Only thing that really stuck out last night was he opted to shoot at a very unlikely angle in first half, rather than cutting back for an almost certain goal. Silly fouls high up the pich when we're pressing also frustrate me, but he was appearing to look as if he was trying to avoid contact. The team is still very much gelling though and I'm sure he'll be fine, if not with the same goal return as last year. Levitt slotted in seamlessly. Hodge again was dynamic, buzzing about looking for the ball to progress play. We got noticably more penetration when JGR came on (especially for 2nd goal) when he stepped through the Utd press and played into final third. Lowry fantastic and a good dig on him. Kanga still finding his feet, but clearly technically proficient and again was dynamic and looking for space to receive the ball. Vogt isn't at the races at the moment. Needs the gym and a bit more time to settle in. Palmer-Houlden - A very handy 'target man' and a good finish last night.
  7. Very easy to cherry pick as you say but facts are he was over a full season . League top scorer and in team of the year. Yet some on here want rid of him . He loses ball sometimes as he takes risks which is what good players do. It's pure mental that some on here want rid as I can guarantee none of anyone else in the building can do what he does. Anyway as other posters are saying I can't believe focus on negativity after last night's demolition of a team who had won 4-0 game before. Let's get positivity going.
  8. Up our section of hunter stand wasn't any real criticism of Vogt, more like sympathetic groans as nothing came off for him. I am willing him on to come good as he comes across as a really likeable guy that wants to be part of the Alfred revolution. As with great goals I personally thought Lowry miskicked it!!.......just kiddin. 🤣 COYW
  9. Incredible to see individual players being slated when we've just put in a superb team performance and got a great result. It was the same at the match last night when all I heard was Vogts being criticised. Not great goals, great performance, great start to the season..... It seems like even when things are about as good as they will ever be for Motherwell fans, a lot of them still want to whine and moan. Seriously, after last night we are talking about Maswanhise's alleged taxi conduct? It'd be funny if it wasn't also grim as fuck.
  10. The important part is his general touch and control are invariably poor and have been for months. Two simple lays offs don.t change that fact. If we are going to evidence two simple instances in a game that hes playing welI. I'll counter with him missing the penalty on Saturday, lost the ball for St Mirrens 2nd goal. Last night he lost an easy ball the nearly resulted in a goal for Dundee Utd and sent a shocking ball for SOD who'd burst a gut to get into a great position. See its easy to cherry pick. For me He loses the ball far too often and fluffs it far two often.
  11. Must be hard comming on when team is playing well trying to get up to speed and fit in right away. Nothing came off for him at all last night. TJ two assists I missed at the game but saw on tv, so maybe I was focused on his bad stuff but he does give ball away a lot..
  12. Today
  13. The important part is that he laid the ball on instead of trying to take on the Dundee Utd defence himself.
  14. Think he’s still got the potential to be a decent player for us but don’t think any club will see the form he had 1st 6 months of last season Thought he was decent enough last night & yeah got the assists. still giving the ball away to cheaply for me, st Mirren goal ( 2nd? ) & last night when United broke & hit the post got a feeling he’ll move on today
  15. I could have laid on the balls for the 2nd and 3rd goal. I don't doubt his effort but his touch and control are poor and have been for months..
  16. Bit harsh.......I think Jake GR has been really good............ahhhhhhhhhh got you now 🤣🤣
  17. I noticed that last night , he looked like he was trying to lift his spirits.
  18. You can smell the shite from a long way off with that one.
  19. What a bit of business getting Lowry in, reminds me of Turnbull.
  20. Confidence and ability go hand in hand you wont have one without the other, so maybe Vogt is not as good as we hoped he would be. Ive not seen anything from him so far in albeit limited game time to convince me. Otherwise, he never seems to read the game well and be where the action is,. I hope he does come good but at the moment he has the look of a certain Australian team mate about him, and for the sake of clarity its not Priestman or Jonny K
  21. Also when it gets weird and folk start going personal on the guy based on one persons interaction with him.
  22. Noticed on Instagram post from club at end of game when players applauding fans Alfred putting his arm round Vogt. Poor lad just looks devoid of confidence. Hope he can turn it round, there are glimpses there but when confidence low its hard.
  23. Maswanhise looked completely dejected at full time last night. Either that, or he was absolutely knackered.
  24. It might be controversial but does he really need to go and clap the fans every 5 mins? I thought he was really good last night. Worked very hard and assisted 2 goals. If he turns up does his job and then wants to get ready to go home is that a major issue?
  25. Exactly my thoughts. He is still working his socks off imo and very fine lines between being frustrated with him and his moves coming off. He could quite easily be on another 2/3 or 4 goals for season. I know it's a forum but criticisms of some players starts far too early. Hodge was getting it on Sunday as well which again I thought was not right. We are building again a team which hopefully will be similar to last tears and let's enjoy it. We will lose along the way but instant criticism of our own team is not a good look.
