A fair summing up. We'll see what tomorrow brings as that might influence our thinking.
-
Were you using powerful field glasses to view the proceedings from North Berwick Law? 🙂 Seriously though, I agree with your assessment. We should have been well out of sight by half time. The best I've seen us play this season (I missed the Celtic game). No point in repeating previous compliments, which were all justified. What did particularly impress me though is the ability of lads like Just and Said to win the ball back when they lose it. I was expecting one of the Livvy players to poleaxe Said but fortunately it didn't happen. Only slight criticism is that we need to cut out the early potential gifts like the ones yesterday and last week against Killie. Fortunately the opposition couldn't capitalise on them.

Dundee aren’t a bad side, they are a better side than the ones we’ve played over the past few weeks and I don’t see this as being easy. A draw wouldn’t be the worst result but obviously I’m getting greedy and want a win.

Being a pessimist is the way to go, as you are never dissapointed. Im not suggesting the full on nuclear approach adopted by MJC, but cautious pessimism if there is such a thing is the best option.👍

Now with 3 from 12 we've still not won away from home on grass.

If both teams play to their potential we will win because we are a better team than Dundee in all departments. The level of consistency shown by Motherwell this season is off the scale and I have never witnessed it before. Thats why the fatalist in me approaches every game thinking "we must fuck it up and play pish this time" and the fact we are at game 24 and it still hasn't happened is truly remarkable. Even the Aberdeen game I can't get the thought of "we will make an arse of it" out my head and I get annoyed at myself because Aberdeen are fucking honking and again by any measure we should take care of them on Saturday. The conditioning Motherwell does to your brain over 50 years would baffle any psychologists. 😂

The first half yesterday just oozed class. We were exceptional. 5/6 up would not have flattered us. Second half we became a bit more erratic without being poor. Our passing accuracy rate noticeably dipped in the second half however we were never in any danger at any point after the first 2 mins. The usual suspects outstanding again, Just, McGinn, SOD, Said, Fadinger, Sparrow of special note however no failures anywhere. Very enjoyable day in East Lothian... Onwards to Dundee 👊

I keep waiting for this run to come to an end because we have been conditioned by past history into believing these things will never last. However, with every passing week the manager and the players find new ways to win games. The squad rotation is allowing us to keep things fresh and maintain performance levels. Dundee are certainly much improved from earlier in the season, but I think we should still have too much for them. Another solid performance and 3 points would set us up nicely going up to Pittodrie.

Obviously rigged and Trump should have won! 😂

A special team with a special manager,happy days,enjoy.

Very happy with the win, not perfect but another win and another clean sheet so it can't be bad! Probably should have scored 4 or 5 before half time, and we seemed to play within ourselves after the break, sloppy at times but rarely troubled. Subs made suggested we had Wednesday in mind

Thank you, I appreciate that

Many thanks Dave, very kind

Didn't seem to work, worked now I think

Agree. He was top class.

Voted for McGinn as well but pole only shows 1 vote, did you vote?
-
A shout out to Yir Elder for a very eloquent call to the BBC's post match phone in. Well said Peter.
-
Ref gave him no protection. He was getting strangled, his jersey pulled and subjected to all manner of fouls.
-
It was dreadful. Looked like several tractor tyre marks in the corner. TJ kept slipping.
-
I don't know. Livvy had a lot of possession especially in the second half. We took our foot off the gas and were a bit sloppy.
-
Let’s get 3 points and set the stage for a blockbuster game against rangers at Fir Park on Feb 11th

numpty started following Dundee v Motherwell 4/02/2026

Another late night on the road to Dundee and back. We should be winning another hard three points here. COYW
-
I haven't given up, and I think we will certainly have an impact on the final winner. At this stage, however, I'd rank us as very much a long shot. A legitimate chaser, but still a long shot. Might be different by the end of Feb.
