  1. Today
  2. All about making money but as I’ve always said the people who are going to buy the kits will do so and those who aren’t won’t buy them. This season we have only worn the change kit in the away games where you would expect us to wear it, ie. Dundee Utd, Hearts, Aberdeen & Livingston which is the way it should be. Other years though we have ‘overcooked’ the away kit especially it seems when it’s a mostly Claret effort. The one from 23/24 that we wore when we won at Ibrox two years ago got a fair few outings and the 18/19 kit we wore it just about every single away game expect ironically enough against Hearts and Aberdeen because it would have caused a colour clash. I really didn’t like that. (And I say that as someone who is a massive fan of the mid 90s Claret with amber pinstripes kit that we wore against Dortmund and was delighted to see the club launch a retro version of that recently.)
  3. Rangers fan I work with clearly still getting his digs in today Ha Conversation between myself and my fellow Well fan when discussing Europe. "Ach you's dont deserve Europe anyway beating the Teddy Bears" Few hours later it was a case of "It must have been a while since you last were in Europe? Willie Pettigrew must have been still playing then" I was actually thinking of letting him know Willie Pettigrew never played in Europe for us, but thought Nah
  4. Agree about that. Away kits are all about shifting product now. Much better to play in club colours whenever possible.
  5. I’m a big fan of this years away kit but I really don’t like seeing us wearing our change kits when there is no clash of colour with the opposition. We should be in Claret & Amber as much as possible and thankfully this season we have been.
  6. I was talking to a Rangers fan earlier today whom I always thought was quite normal. He quickly blew that by saying he was sick of Scottish football because everyone was raising their game just to beat Rangers. When I pointed out both Hearts and MFC had beaten Celtic there was an awkward moment: which allowed me toexpresss surprise at the time. I thought it was Sellick fans who were supposed to be paranoid.
  7. Do any other players dislike it apart from just? .......ba boom 🤣
  8. Were the Falkirk fans not singing 'Stand up and leave for Motherwell' the other week? (and something about bairns lifting a cup)
  9. Eventually settled on SOD but by heck they’re all making it difficult to choose one.
  10. I’ve been thinking for months that he would leave due to there being no renewal chat going around and have previously mentioned it. I’ve believed for some time that he is intent on moving back down south so I’d be very surprised if he does stay up here. Although he is a great player and will be missed he’s a replaceable player also.
  11. Plenty of footage of it doing the rounds. Hibs fans were also at it when we were beating Hearts the other week.
  12. Any truth in the rumour Hearts fans were singing "Stand up and sing for Motherwell" after hearing the result at Ibrox? Surely shome mishtake.......
  13. I'm so glad we didn't have that away kit on . Just not been a fan since the first time I seen it , and others might disagree of course All of the 3 other kits mentioned in those games I was much more a fan of
  14. There definitely was a mental block that ran right through the club for far too long when it came to these types of games. IMO it could be traced all the way back to Butcher and then Alan Burrows banging the “punching above our weight” drum for years and numerous managers, coaches, players and supporters fully bought into that. Before the March ‘24 win at Ibrox I genuinely thought we would never beat either OF side ever again but breaking that duck gave us the shot in the arm that we had been in desperate need of for years. On a side note and I know this doesn’t matter much to many, but it does to me…I was delighted to see us beat Rangers at Ibrox for the third year running but this time wearing our proper C&A kit. The last three league wins there we’ve been in our change kits going back to Owen Coyle day in ‘97. So Sunday must have been the first league win at Ibrox wearing our first kit since 94 or 95. 🍻
  15. Yesterday
  16. Wouldn't shock me to see him rocking up at any of the old firm or Edinburgh clubs tbh. Slattery has annoyed the life out of me many a time but also scored some crucial goals for us I wish him well he has played his part.
  17. I do believe after a poor run for a long number of years a mental barrier was broke down the day we won there 2 seasons ago with Kettlewell. After 27 years of no wins there excluding the play off I said that day we would never be waiting anything like this again for a win. This has been proven in the last 2 seasons since, we do not fear going there at all Same when we got our first win against Celtic in 10 years back in December I said then too it wont be another 10 years and definetly do not think it will
  18. Unless JBA ends up at Celtic he could potentially end up there. The only team other than them that might take a look is Hearts.
  19. Think it's probably the right time to move on, he's a good player and been a good servant for us and I assume will end up bottom half championship or at a promotion chasing league 1 side.
  20. That was massive, and for all the disappointment about dropped points early in the season, that pain and frustration was a necessary learning experience to be able to do what we did on Sunday. No panic, no abandoning the system or reverting to bad habits. Stick to plan and look to find the winning goal. I read Kris Boyd saying at 2 - 2, given who they were playing, Rangers should have shut up shop and been content with the draw because we were always likely to get a 3rd. Changed days.
  21. The mental aspect of it is also great. To go there, be pegged back, survive the onslaught and the crowd, then go up the park and win the game will bring a resilience. We have utterly dominated and wiped the floor with both the OF for complete halves. Ideally you'd do it for the 90, but they are always going to have a period of control in games. Its more of the incremental mindset change.
  22. I’m still amazed we never got screwed by the officiating team. Definitely helps when you don’t get the dodgy calls against you.
  23. 48 hrs later and I am still buzzing!! The joy of football!
  24. Only one objection to the proposed plans. The Sun however, covers it in depth and makes an issue of it.
