On a different note, out of curiosity, I checked Man City's stats yesterday (as they are obviously a team that likes to play possession football). They made 466 passes in their home win, with 84.1% accuracy and 31 touches inside the opposition box. We made 703 passes with 92.3% accuracy and 51 touches inside the oppostion box. Obviously not like for like, but an interesting comparison all the same.

I think it was a bad brush on his eyelash….. as a contact lens wearer I’m forever having problems with them and I’ve lost count of the times I’ve fell and rolled around on the ground in Merry Street after a little gust of wind hits my eyes. I’m just hoping he’s fit enough for next Saturday as eyelashes are a big problem in football today…. I don’t think it’s mentioned enough 🤥

It's not about whether there was an attempted hand hit or not, Slattery's were embarrassing, unnecessary and took some attention away from an excellent footballing performance. There was no excuse for it, and JBA obviously felt the same.

Oh aye we definitely would be but leaving aside Slatts Oscar winning performance and the faux outrage, the rules are quite clear. An attempted hand hit (punch or strike) on an opponent is generally punishable with a red card, even if no contact is made, due to it being classified as violent conduct. So VAR seemingly correct in this instance. Can imagine Slattery getting absolute pelters at training on Monday and SOD browsing Amazon for a replica Oscar statue.

Quite rightly so, I can’t stand that type of cheating and I’m not going to say different because he’s a Motherwell player- if anything it makes it worse.

Tam Cowan is one of the worst culprits of this and he’s a Motherwell fan. I didnt think the first one was a definite red. He does catch him on the ankle once the ball is away. But by the same token Fadingers v Rangers wasnt a whole lot worse, so some consistency would be nice. Slatterys though is embarassing. He may well have got a finger in the face (its impossible to tell from the poor camera footage) but it certainly wasnt enough contact to justify the reaction. Glad Jens gave him a talking to at the end.

That and “make the most of it, half your team won’t be there next season” I’ll make the most of it just now thank you, take it game by game as big Jens says. and I can’t think of a player we’ve ever had who is more likeable that Said….. the wee guy is immense

Fadinger would be the only one I’d consider starting but that’d mean Priestman dropping out and the boy has been exceptional and doesn’t deserve dropped. looking over social media this morning (I know I shouldn’t) it’s so mixed, it’s either we are all arrogant c@nts or we are the future of football. Its great that we are getting the majority of players fit and up to speed, but its a little ironic that we do so just as our midweek fixtures disappear until the end of the season! Great to have a strong bench though and we might have to cope with a few suspensions if we do actually get ourselves in the mix! 😉

Another win and another clean sheet at home. Fadinger is back in contention, and with Thor and Sam getting more up to speed I fully expect another rotated starting eleven. We’ll need the full squad to see us strongly through the final eleven games.
