Looking back at the video of his speech in the dressing room after the Hibs game, i sort of sensed he was saying goodbye himself..or does that sound daft
-
Tweet been posted by a Belgian 'transfer specialist' (207K followers) saying a deal's been agreed between the clubs, JBA finalising details with Toulouse.
-
Certainly makes sense.
-
I had heard it was a done deal when the news of the Toulouse interest was broken but Motherwell wanted to publicly deny it so as not to derail the last game of the season
-
I suspect the Board and the Manager knew aobut the interst much sooner, but kept it quiet. Deals like this can be quite complicated, so likely some behind the scenes negotiations have been taking place. I wasn't sure when he'd leave, but was always 100% sure it would not be for a Scottish club. I'm actually OK with it happening this quickly, as it will allow us to bring in the new man for a full summer of preparation. Much better than losing him in late July or early August.
-
If we were going to lose him it had to be early in the window losing him now is fine gives us time to sort out a replacement
-
Really hope Jens doesn't leave right now and has a crack at Europe If he does leave though Best Wishes to him . What a season to Remember
-
Wow..that was quick.. i feel gutted now.. All i can say if signed and sealed, is thanks Jens for the best football ive witnessed in all my years supporting the Well. All the best to you and your family and your new life in France.
-
Seems JBA away, really really disappointing. https://x.com/i/status/2057153444691976448

The club are currently only negotiating with Toulouse to allow them to speak to Jens. Always the chance he hears something that sets off alarm bells and decides its not for him. However, if and when he does leave, I 100% expect our next manager to be from outside Scotland. As others have said, lots of countries have numerous teams / managers / coaches that play the way we do now. Id also proffer that Jans would have some input into who might be a suitable replacement.
-
Was he always with JBA. I thought he was drafted in to be Assistant to him.
-
Im all for this. Its what they do at Parkhead for European games.... We built that stand to milk Celtic & Rangers for revenue. It would be crazy to throw the baby out with the bath water. However, we do need to do something, so the above seems a reasonable and manageable compromise. Would also allow the stewards to focus in the gates without worrying about anyone coming over the wall.
-
Keep them in the top tier only. And if anyone asks tell them exactly why. You can't invaded the park from up there. Someone needs to make a stand. It certainly won't be Scottish football authorities .
-
I hope we ask John McGlynn if he fancies it. Falkirk play some good football and I assume we'll be in a better place financially than them while having one of the best academies in the country. Outside him nobody in Scotland really interests me. Hibs fans seem to be desperate to get rid of David Gray I wouldn't mind him rocking up here if he gets mutualled and Simo is an option in but I expect we would look abroad again.
-
I think he suffered from being good at something but unable to make others good at the same thing syndrome, Dunfermline away has to be one of the lowest points of the last thirty years anyway
- Today
-
When we play celtic the lower tier always appears to be overcrowded and folk running from stand to stands a risk too. If anything where to go wrong say a crushing incident or something its our clubs reputation thats at stake and as a club have the responsibility for any compensation if such an issue was to arrise. Id argue its silly not to impliment something
-
I was thinking more along the lines of letting him choose any player to sell and keeping 100% of the profit for himself. If he does leave, I hope it's Toulouse, as it would be nice trip to go and watch his new team play.
-
1. Punt Rangers to League 2 in the EFL 2. Punt Celtic to the lowest division in the League of Ireland 3. Profit!
-
And if Max goes with Jens?
-
Just give them the minimum allowed, with them being seated in a newly created seating area with limited views outside the stadium and all at a premium price.
-
Take out the bottom ten rows or something, cover them in they advertising banners you see elsewhere
-
I would think that the board will do everything they can to keep him here. If that doesn't work out then they will get as much as they can for loosing him. Can't say fairer than that.
-
That's who I think will get it. His philosophy is very much the same as Askou. I remember him saying he had St Mirren youth team playing the way we do but the first team wouldn't adopt it.
-
I'd like him to hang around for another year, but accept that he'll go eventually, and most likely while his stock is so high. If he does go, he'll go with my best wishes. What may keep him here is the apparent rapport that he has with the club, players and fanbase. Couple that with the control and freedom that he seems to have at Fir Park, and the club's ambition; it may be enough, but I doubt it, money talks, and it'll be a big pay day for him. He may well think that maintaining forward momentum through the second season is likely to be more difficult. - We'll lose some core players, recruitment will need to be very good to replace and improve on what we enjoyed this season. - Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen and Hibs will probably improve next season. Can he make next season better than this? I hope that, if he does go then wherever he ends up, it isn't in Scotland and he is given the time and resources to implement his philosophy. We and he were very lucky that it all seemed to click so quickly at Fir Park. As for Max, I have no idea if he can step up. The board will decide if such becomes necessary and I have faith in them.

Thats what id assume anyway
