That’ll be my Motherwell blinkers going on though. I suppose if they are sold I hope they go to a good Motherwell home.
  3. Of course I do and I have enjoyed a lot of our play so far this season and stayed already that it is so much more refreshing that what we have seen in recent years where there has been virtually zero football in the team. There are positives and encouraging signs but we’ve yet to see it ‘bear fruit’ in that we have played some good stuff but failed to register a win yet and there are still question marks over the team and the manager which is perfectly reasonable and to be expected for us and especially at this stage in a new regime. I don’t see us going up to Aberdeen and getting our first win in a Cup quarter final, but hopefully it comes soon as the longer we go without getting it it becomes a bigger thing for us.

  5. I've managed to put strikers off their shot with a well placed wee shove in the back - allegedly. If I was a keeper, though, I'd be barging players out the way and elbowing any around me, because that seems to be allowed.
  6. What are the chances of us signing Celiks most impressive defender on loan for a year then. He is a very good signing for a wee team like us, played against big teams ,big team experience and training , big guy and a powerful defender just what we need to organise a pussy defence shipping needless goals.
  7. I’m still struggling to see how any contact there was enough to put him off.
  8. We are not all fur coat and no knickers. We are a team that have had three managers in the last year and who were struggling under Kettlewell for a few reasons. Players that were clearly struggling and lost confidence to boot. We were candidates for relegation at one point last season and we stayed up. The team still has to gel - that's clear. It's also clear that every player is playing for the manager and trying their best. Even Ward who has made mistakes that cost us. The negativity on here is staggering at times
  9. I can only imagine the state you'd be in if we had lost any matches this season. Do you genuinely not get any pleasure out of watching players and systems evolve week by week? Or are you only interested in having a finished product immediately available that is going to win every game?
  10. That’d be great but I just don’t see him getting any more than 5. Happily eat my hat to be proved wrong.
  11. We aren't the only club in that position and Aberdeen are at the bottom of the table.
  12. We’re basically all fur coat and no knickers and we’ve so far been unable to show that we can win games. We were never going up to Aberdeen and knocking them out of the Cup no matter who they signed.
  13. Hope your right. This forum was generally positive about the signing when he arrived. Time wil tell.
  14. Hendry will come good. Will get circa 15 for us this season.
  15. https://x.com/kilmarnockfc/status/1962923478333681973?s=46&t=8C9VuM5V_21MGVj9jGzzoA Kilmarnock have an even worse (for us) camera angle for that equalising goal on Saturday. So frustrating!!!
  16. This ties now got a lot tougher. Aberdeen have signed Scotland international Armstrong on free. Along with Nisbet and Swedish winger that they acquired previously. They will now be much better team.
  17. Not sure what part of my post is that remarkable that it has drawn 2 negative posts. At no point have I stated Welsh was a bad player, or wouldnt do a job for us. Im just of the opinion he isnt the most impressive Celtic defender Ive ever seen and we are taking him on loan with an injury record that would suggest he might not be able to play a lot of games. If he has goals in his locker, thats a good thing. I do hope he is the second coming of Paolo Maldini however, and can lead us to a cup win!

  19. There are also the Cooperation Agreements this season, aimed at players aged 16 - 21, where they can be moved at will between loan club and parent club all season. Wilson is not part of those, but a couple of other youngsters are.
  20. Had a wee search and found this posted in reply to the same question re Loans. Ties in with what I understood to be the situation. The Partnership agreement with Stenny and Cowdenbeath regarding young Scottish players falls outside the normal Loan terms. Quote "Clubs can now only make loan deals during the two transfer windows between July/August and January and players can only be brought into clubs on either half season or full season loans. The changes mean that players can no longer be brought into clubs outside of the transfer windows on short-term deals with many clubs often bringing in players on a month`s loan during the season. The changes also mean that clubs cannot recall a player until the transfer window reopens, the only exception to this is with goalkeepers. Parent clubs can recall a goalkeeper with just 24-hours notice if they do not have two fit goalkeepers at their club. Clubs can still recall players to feature for their development squad during the loan period." So on that basis, Wilson returning before January is a non starter. I guess new rules were introduced to stop clubs abusing the system by swapping players back and forward, sometimes for a month or less at a time.
  21. He can only re-register with us in January, different for a goal keeper (in an emergency), different for Stenhousemuir.
  22. A goalkeeper under an emergency situation. Stricter rules for outfield players. My understanding anyway
  23. Sorry to say this but I don't care about Wilson right now - he's a talent but he's not good enough just now and all the talk about cover for Manny is premature in my view as he's not injured Wilson has had his chance and he's lost confidence and not ready just now
  24. I believe so. We recalled Matty.
  25. I'm not sure that's correct as I understand it a loan player can be recalled anytime the parent club deems it necessary, plus Wilson is already our player so we are not adding a player so no need to wait for a transfer window. It really depends on the fine print in the loan agreement and what both clubs have agreed on.
  26. They aren't great when you go and pick them up from Fir Park before the collection time to find out they've already been given to the SLO as happened to me the other week. This isn't a criticism of Motherwell. Its Hearts and Aberdeen that don't want to do a digital option for some reason
