Kettlewell actually said that he had a meeting with refs where they talked about situations like this and they were told a penalty wouldn't be given. It's in his post match interview I get why they are unhappy to a point as the ball bounced off the other player but then folk are saying the player should not have had his hands up - however I suppose football is instinctive and things happen so quickly

See, I can understand why it was given but I think stonewaller is pushing it. I get his hand is out from his body, but it deflects onto his arm from close range and I felt he was trying to bring his arm towards his body rather than away from it. I actually thought the one on the line a few minutes earlier was more of a shout as it stopped a certain goal. But thats not the rule anymore (if it ever was) so probably the correct decision. Exactly my point. We have been very good at playing out from the back and as a bi-product, teams are getting very little of the ball to do anything with. Its just when they do, we arent defending our box very well. We have conceded 7 goals in the league and gifted 5 of those by not doing our jobs properly.

It did take a slight deflection but not much, with the arm away from the body though it was always going to be given, especially as the ball was on target.

I actually thought our style of play of playing it our from the back would result in a few more silly goals but it hasn't. The goals we are losing has nothing to do with our style of playing out from the back it just rank bad defending and goalkeeping.

I think their fans are trying to say the ball smacked off another player and then hit the player that the penalty was given against. I've not watched it yet though.

The Celtic penalty was a stonewaller to be fair, arm away from the body, ball heading for goal deflected away, an easy one for VAR

I was switching between the Burnley v Liverpool game and the Killie game the difference in the pitches was shocking, how the SFA / SPFL allow it to be used for top level games is a disgrace.

I dont think he has had a real run of games until this season. Last season he came in with no pre season, got injured twice then broke his wrist. We have what we have until January. If his record doesnt improve by then, I will maybe concede he needs moved on. Until then we need him to contribute until Hendry, Osong etc are fit enough to push him for a starting spot. Im happy enough that Maswanhise will get us enough goals to keep us out of trouble, but we need someone to lead the line and at the moment Stama is it. We do need to stop shipping gsoft goals though. Its great that we do that mostly by just keeping the ball, butnit would be great if we didnt concede pretty much every time we give away cheap possession!

Yes I think I’d be pretty raging if that was given against us but it wasn’t against us so…there we are. And we’re now a point, and a goal, ahead of Kettlewell’s Killie so I’ll take that. After the frustrations of the last few games I’ll enjoy this particular positive. 😀

Every away team that is required to play on that embarrassment-to-Scottish-football of a pitch should be awarded 2 penalties per match as compensation.
