  1. Past hour
  2. Anyone know how long Fadinger will be suspended for? I think/hope it’s the next 2 league games and that he can play at Pittodrie midweek. Sunday might be tougher if Watt is out as well as Fadinger are both out. Preistman is obviously a very good replacement but who else plays in there? Assume Nicholson, Sparrow or McGhee, unless he brings in Thor and drops Slattery or Just deeper. Whatever we do Faddy will be a big miss.
  3. Hang on. I thought it was JBA that was definitely taking over at Celtic: Portugal boss Roberto Martinez to Celtic could already be "planned" after the World Cup. That's according to pundit Gabby Agbonlahor, who reckons Benfica gaffer Jose Mourinho will already be lined up as a replacement following the tournament. Martinez is the bookies' favourite to be named the club's next boss for the long term when Martin O'Neill leaves in the summer.
  4. Just loving this take on the SPL table after last night. Is the Celtic (1 game in hand) for their hard of understanding fan base or are the Well operating under a different currency? Long live Jens-ball!
  5. Today
  6. Let me know when that good joke is imminent 😂
  7. Great post Joe. What got to me was when he rightly pulled up Rangers players for stealing yards at throw ins. They retreat, as instructed, but then continue to steal yards before the actual throw in. No action taken. At Fadinger's yellow card he is surrounded by 3 Rangers players, including Ratkins, mouthing off at him.
  8. Obviously pleased we didn’t get beat, but overall I don’t take too much from last night other than frustration. Yet again we have drawn with Rangers at Fir Park and we should have won. That’s now three games in a row against them here where we’ve only managed to get one point when it should have been all three. The 2-2 in December ‘24 when we threw away a 2-0 lead and the two this season where we were clearly the better side but needed to rely on late equalisers to get the absolute least that we deserved from the games. In a way both games at Fir Park against them this season have encapsulated our season within a single game. Really good ball work, dominant in possession, some lovely play, largely nullifying the opposition but just falling that little bit short of what we really could have achieved because we lack the cutting edge up front. Take nothing away from the magnificent job Jens has done and hopefully will continue doing until the end of the season but as I said the frustration is there.
  9. Win this one then lose the Cup tie Thats how I see it going anyway. 2-1 home win
  10. Aye, on reflection it would maybe have been more sensible to start him and bring Watt on for the last 30. Oscar really isnt much of a downgrade and more than makes up for any percieved deficiencies with his engine. I love our midfield this season.
  11. Agree with that Tex. He was very good up until his final pass. There were a few he delayed just a little too long and were intercepted, or took the wrong option. He really doesnt like to pass with his left foot.
  12. Went with Welsh as that goal with live in my memory a long time. Mcginn Odonnell, Fadinger were excellent as well but a special mention to our little Rolls Royce Priestman. When I saw him on at half time he just looked tiny in amongst that Rangers/st mirren select land of the giants midfield, but he absolutely strolled it. Love the wee guy.
  13. Raskin is a good footballer. But he is an odious little cretin. Always diving under minimal contact, but always in the face of the referee moaning his face off. I thought that had been outlawed and it was "Captain only" for going to the referee? Just was certainly yellow carded for it last night. McLean isnt our worst referee, but he is weak. He allowed the Rangers players to get away with murder last night and they took full advantage. Thats only fair if it cuts both ways and it clearly didnt (numerous examples above). I love Big Eythor already. He saw the Rangers backline bullying our forward players last night and decided he wasnt having any of it. Some of his contacts with Souttar and Djiga were delicious! His assist for the goal is magnificent as Djiga has him in a stranglehold and he still gets his head onto the ball. I think with him on from the start we win that game and he might just be the difference maker in a cup run. Edit: Jens will have to work out how to tweak the system and who he is dropping in that scenario as JT will probably have to come out to the right again. I dont see us going 2 up top.
  14. It's not even just those incidents. What also boils my piss is when he was blatantly ignoring Tavernier stealing countless yards at every free kick or throw in he took. Trivial I know but these things can affect games.
  15. I did say his only one defence. It's a bit like me, one good joke out of 3 dozen doesn't make me a comedian 🤣🤣
  16. Mcginn was outstanding yet again but for me has to be....Stephen........Stephen wellllllssshhhhhh........Stephen.....Stephen....wellllllshhhhh
  17. One good one out of dozens, he must hate Aberdeen more than he hates us. Cheating bastard.
  18. Aye, thats true Grizzly, but he failed to penalise Scott Vernon in the build up and to red card Mark Reynolds. What a day though! More recently he was in charge of the Falkirk game, when Ibrahim Said's wonder goal was chalked off.
  19. Only defence I will give MacLean was he was ref when we won at Pittodrie with Craig Reid classic winner to guarantee 2nd place in 2014. He awarded yellow initially but obviously Beaton gave him the call to check VAR which in all honesty was correct.
  20. Given it to Welsh for his all round performance. Plenty of others were in the mix, but Welsh for me.
  21. You must sit near us in the POD. We had a clear view of the incident and it was a stick on red. However, it was a mistimed tackle with no malicious intent. No complaints about that. What did annoy me though was Raskins getting in Steven MacLean's face after Fadinger had been yellow carded pleading for him to be sent off. His opinion obviously carried great weight. Very poor behaviour which needs called out. Steven Maclean had a very poor game as mentioned by many others. His decision making was riddled with inconsistencies. * His failure to play on when Said was fouled. We assumed, wrongly, that he stopped play to card the Rangers player but no. * Why wasn't Soutar red cardd for cynically bringing down a breaking Just? I'm not one to push conspiracy theories with referees but Steven Maclean really does seem to dislike us for some reason. Agree with your comment about the crowd. Yet again, our figures are substantially different from the BBC's. Aunty says 9,800 whilst MFC says 11,200. I very much doubt if there were about 4,000 empty seats. Great to see increased crowds.
  22. Tough one but Paul McGinn for me Made some vital tackles and interceptions to keep us in the game
  23. I was waiting on VAR for that Red is probably a red Not having the Chermitti pen claim at all - Collapsed to the ground during 'normal football contact' - Suggestions he was offside as well Far more contact on the Slattery one, ver soft, but have seen Gassama get pens for less. The Souttar one can argue supporting arm, but he blindly dives into the challenge - Which Collum has previously said can lead to pens. More pertinently, Souttar then impedes, making the ball unplayable between his feet - Which is a foul. Indirect free kick, or play on. Certainly not faul to Rangers. Similarly second half, Souttar gets a foul when Maswanhise learly wins the ball. Askou also right regarding fouls in first half, whilst they weren't dangerous, there were quite a few stopping us when we were approaching the box/breaking into final third. It was like watching St Mirren at times.
  24. That felt like a win last night. The limbs when the equaliser hit the net, no feeling like it. No less than we deserved. COYW
  25. Overall, happy with last night's performance and result especially as we went down to 10 men but never gave up and went at them. I did have a feeling before HT that we'd see a red card but thought that it would be Said. As someone in our group said, Sevco played like a more expensive version of Livingston or Killie i.e. kick everything that moves. Sevco adapted their game to nullify us and it worked to a certain extent as we saw through their effective policing of JT. I thought we played at about 75% of full capacity but lacked that killer punch up front that you need to beat the gruesome twosome. One point of concern was that in the last 3 games we've gifted the opposition an early chance and last night it cost us dearly. We fully deserved our draw and probably even the 3 points but weren't quite good enough to pull a win off. Some excellent and exciting football but with some sloppy edges but JBA knows that. This season will be a vintage season, probably in the Ancell Babes mould i.e. a great footballing team that wins nought. I'm really looking forward to next season though and if we can improve in our weak areas, with or without JBA, then a cup is a real possibility. A good team performance last night but I thought our best players were McGinn, my MOTM, Welsh, O'Donnell and Priestman.
  26. This. He's doing exactly what he was signed to do and its now his second assist despite limited gametime. Not a spectacular striker but one who can cause opposition teams damage in their box. Had Ap Stam or Hendry been brought on instead last night, we'd have lost the game.
  27. Also great seeing Sam Nicholson play a part in the goal, delighted for him after everything he has been through and a really nice guy. Could be a very important player for rest of season
