  1. Past hour
  2. 100% yes. Celtic win trophies, that’s what they do, that’s what you expect. And if any non Old Firm club is going to break that cycle on occasion and win a domestic Cup then I want to be us. Not Killie, not St.Johnstone and certainly not St.Mirren who would be there after knocking us out in a Semi Final. Apart from the fact that I can’t stand them and their odious boneheaded fans I don’t want to see them lifting silverware if we can’t do it. That said I wouldn’t begrudge Hearts winning the league this season but that doesn’t concern us really because we’re not in contention for that.
  3. Today
  4. I think it was tackle from behind. Not sure why or when it was stopped. When you watch some of those old 70’s games you can see why they had to try something to tame it down a bit.
  5. Firstly, thanks for your prediction. I feel much more relaxed about the game now! Secondly, are you sure? Even if its those beastly Celtic fans that will be celebrating a victory? Surely you would rather St Mirren fans were cheering than the worst fans in Scotland.
  6. Am I mis-remembering, or was the "professional foul" not punishable by a red card back in the day (70's). And if so, why did it change? I have vague recollections of Motherwell players being hauled down on the half way line and red cards being shown. Could have been a pre cursor to the last man / clear goalscoring opportunity rule, but I kinda feel that it was a thing.......
  7. Well we've 14 goals off 32 shots on target which is pretty decent but there are a few penalties in there. EDIT - Also don't forget all the shots that weren't on target! 🤣
  8. I guess our conversion rate is better than we thought then?
  9. Just cos I was curious. Shots on target (average, league matches only) 1. Hibernian - 6.0 2. Hearts - 5.8 3. Dundee Utd - 5.6 4. Celtic - 5.2 5. Rangers - 4.8 6. Falkirk - 4.5 7. Kilmarnock 3.7 8. Aberdeen 3.6 9. Livingston 3.6 10. Motherwell 3.55 11. St Mirren - 3.0 12. Dundee - 2.4
  10. This is the major reason I'm against VAR. The whole point of football is the joy of scoring a goal. That's what everything else builds up to. That has totally been taken away now. As for decision making I don't think much has actually changed. Mistakes get made with or without VAR. We all lived without it for pretty much our whole lives and somehow we still managed to love the game. It's entirely geared towards televised football.
  11. Yeah I don’t have them either. I’ll wait a few days and then hopefully they will be there. My issue is I haven t had any receipt from Motherwell for the tickets I bought but they have confirmed over a call I have paid for them and I have my seat numbers.
  12. I'm not seeing any tickets on my Hampden app, weren't they supposed to show 7 days before the match? Anyone else seeing theirs? EDIT: I can see on MFC site it now says "the week of the game". Thought it said 7 days before previously.
  13. Great...I feel reassured now 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
  14. Don’t worry it will be on premier tv at a pub next to Hampden if it all goes tits up. No phone signal Battery runs out Drop your phone in a puddle Forget your phone / leave it in Cooper suite Run out of credit Forget your password What could possibly go wrong.
  15. I know we’ve got Dundee Utd on Wednesday before this but I am absolutely dreading this on Saturday and think it’s got all the hallmarks of a disastrous and sickening night for us. One of those games we’ll look back on for years and shudder like Rangers in 2012, Airdrie Semi Final in mid 70s, losing to ten man Aberdeen in the QFS when the Old Firm were already out and so on. I don’t know how it will pan out obviously but I am absolutely convinced we will lose one way or another. ”Mind that St.Mirren LCSF in 2025? Jeez don’t even go there, I still have nightmares about that one” edit: And if/when we do lose then I will 100% be supporting whichever Old Firm side in the final, none of this birthday caird nonsense like Tam Cowan will inevitably come out with like “ye know whit, fair play tae St.Mirren an am delighted fur ma St.Mirren pals an a’ll be cheering them oan in the final cos that’s what fitbaawww is aw aboot. Course ah would a loved it if Motherwell had goat there but fur a wee diddy team like us just gettin tae a semi final is fantaaaastic it wis a great day oot, few beers, game a fitbaawww then oot efterwards fur a curry, which ah must add wis absolootly top notch” Not for me sorry. If we can’t win the trophy and have our day in the sun then I certainly don’t want St.Mirren to have theirs.
  16. Yesterday
  17. Or, as the MSM call it "taking one for the team".
  18. I'd love to see a rule change where instead of an automatic yellow, a straight red is given to players who "tactically" foul a breakaway player in the middle of the park. One of my pet hates that has crept more and more into the modern game.
  19. Imagine Longelo with the freedom of Hampden 😅
  20. Forgot to mention how great how great it was to see the reaction from the bench when Just scored the Winner. Longello obviously took his flippers off after being sub’d. Best he moved all day. 😂 hopefully the big man is back to normal in the next game.
  21. I said before VAR was introduced, I thought it would be terrible. First, because of the interminable delays of the game, and second, because the same officials would still make poor, just different, decisions looking at video. It's actually been worse than I thought on both counts. There's no point saying it got one decision right and ignoring the 10 that it missed or got wrong. I'd like to see the stats, but my impression is that there has not been any reduction in the overall number of incorrect decisions since it arrived.
  22. Fairly sure it was flagged for offside, one of these late flags after the move had completed.
  23. Yup VAR does have good points if used correctly, perfect example last week at Dens, even to me looked like ball hit guy on arm and pen to sellik. Once reviewed clearly hit face. It's the farcical offside ones and the said foul that cause the problems
  24. What’s the deal with Suele? Is he going to come back or has injury ruled him Out for the season?
