  1. Past hour
  2. Last night showed that JBA can adapt and keep other managers on their toes (knees).
  3. We're the Pound Shop Man City and Maswanhise is our Erling Haaland.
  4. I think one of the important things going forward now is how other teams adapt to our style of play when we start playing them for the second or third time in the season. We've been a novelty up to now but usually it's harder to maintain a successful style over a full season when the opposition has experience against us and starts looking to negate our set up and tactics. I'd also say that we are heavily dependent on Maswanhise for goals and generally getting behind the defensive line.
  5. Was worth posting it twice then wasn't it. Some of us based in Scotland are sleeping while the rest of the world posts. 🙄
  6. By the current standards that's a blatant handball. If the ball was going miles wide Hanley must have mr tickle arms. Also, whether its on target is completely irrelevant. Gray is really doing his best to deflect from us sussing his team out and ragdolling them. As mentioned in the Terrace podcast this morning, we focused on boxing in iredale and Nicky cadden, and gave them a torrid time, leading in them both getting subbed early. Hibs get a lot of joy out of N Cadden's crossing ability, and we totally nullified him.
  7. Indeed! More goals wouldn’t hurt us.
  8. Just imagine what our current goal tally would be if we had a number 9 capable of scoring more than just penalties.
  9. Once JBA gets poached, Max Rogers is our next manager. Not Maloney. He was only there last night to learn from the master.
  10. Today
  11. From what I saw on the highlights, Just's shot was on target and was not really "from close range". Having said that, the handling in the box law needs to be re-thought because the inconsistences in its interpretation are too common, and not just in Scotland.
  12. A thoroughly entertaining watch last night with no failures at all right through the team. The last hour was a masterclass in how to play against 10 men, something we have really struggled to do for quite a few seasons now. If I was being really picky, we ended up trying too many fancy flicks and tricks when there were better options available, I did laugh out loud when Said did that jump though. On another note, the BBC match report claims that the shot handled by Hanley for the Penalty "with Just prodding the ball against the outstretched hand of Hanley from close range." David Grey claimed " "The shot is clearly going miles wide. Grant hasn't made himself any bigger, he's not even trying to block the shot." A statement later repeated in a different BBC story about the Livingstone non-penalty on Saturday. It would seem too much to hope the BBC would at least watch the playback of the incident before spouting cack like that, their own highlights show that lie up for what it is,
  13. Very impressed with our swift passing and movement last night, reminiscent of the Ancell Babes at their best by all accounts; only disappointment was not scoring more goals in the second half. Askou has broken the mould for the smaller clubs in the Premiership by insisting this kind of football is possible with imagination, good coaching and shrewd recruitment rather than the more unimaginative, defensive, physical grind dependent on set-pieces so typical of clubs outwith the OF. Perhaps this explains why some football pundits are eager for this great experiment to fail so clubs like us can get back in our box. I had a look at the btl comments by Hibs fans in the various Hibs videos post-match. Quite a few used the term "outclassed" to describe their team and while some complained about the penalty award and the sending off, others said we clearly deserved to win and congratulated us.. I hope we make amends on Saturday for only drawing at Tynecastle while up 0-3 but I think this will be a tremendous tussle worthy of a sell-out crowd. May The Force be with us.....
  14. It's defintely progressing in phases. Against Clyde, in our opener (on plastic) you could see we were trying something new, but felt like the players only met 10 minutes before kickoff. Early in the season, we were dominating without making too many chances. Then we started scoring a few more, but lacked the ability to close out the game. Now we are scoring a reasonable amount and not doing too badly in seeing out the match. I imagine what is being worked on now is adding another goal or two in second half performances to kill off games sooner. The main thing is we can see the progress, and that has kept most of the fans (and the players) on board with "The Project".
  15. Should be interesting weekend with games confined to top 6 teams and bottom 6 4 v 1 3 v 2 and 5 v 6 11 v 9 10 v 7 and 12 v 8
  16. One of our highlighted issues was lack of goals. I’d say at the moment that’s probably not the case. We’ve scored more than Celtic or Rangers. Only teams scoring more are hearts and hibs, 29,23 and us on 22 goals. One player leading goal scorer and another in the top 5. only failed to score in one league game V St Mirren 0-0 in Paisley.
  17. That's the stuff, I would have panicked if you predicted a draw or well win 🤣🤣🤣
  18. There was feel-good press when we finished 2nd in the league too, so I wouldn't worry too much in that regard. Expecting a tight one again. While there is definitely a chance we could lose, I'm going with win by the odd goal in 3 (or 5)
  19. Makes me nervous with so much “feel-good” press going on. Glad to see MJC prediction as I don’t like to see him forecasting wins for us.
  20. Quick shout for Calum last night, ok he had little to do bar a couple of punches but his distribution was superb all night; he is integral to our new style of play.
  21. Yeh we played so poorly last night I tend to agree 😝
  22. Was thinking same thing. There will still be bumps in the road, little set backs here and there, off days, silly goals given up but all those things were happening before and at alarming frequency amd with zero entertainment. At least now we are being treated to more football entertainment than I can remember for a long time. Regarding entertainment, Said is one of the most entertaining players we’ve had in who know how long. Quite the character although I think he got a finger wagging from the boss last night 😂 Desperate for him to score for us in a victory so Saturday would be a good day for that ! COYW!!!
  23. This should be a cracking game. I’m going for another 3–3, or a 3–2 win for us if the stars align.
  24. Oh, and Elijah Just is awesome. Hes another that I don't think will be with us long, but as per the post above, he's such an intelligent player, and his work rate is excellent.
  25. It's hard not to get carried away with the start to the season, but one thing that makes this a bit different is that a lot of the optimism and general good feeling isn't just tied to results. As pissed off as most of us were about the semi final, we all moved on rather quickly - and that's just weird. JBA will definitely be on the radar of much bigger clubs with the way he's transformed this team in such a short time. We have seen managers like Shaun Maloney, who has the exact same ethos (and worked with our assistant) struggle to get that across, and you wonder if someone like him could drop in once JBA goes and continue the work - not advocating him in particular, just wondering if JBA has set the foundation.. Im also interested in whether other scottish clubs will try the same. I also wonder if more ambitious managers will be open to coming to Scotland, and the smaller clubs at that, to build theor stock. Wimmer should get dome credit for kicking this off as well, and bringing us Fadinger at the very least.
  26. Didn't realize that was McGinn both times, takes "dangerous pass" to a whole new level.
  27. I also went with Priestman. I was worried about the lineup, but I was fine with the rotation, and that's all I saw it as at the time. I thought there would be a significant drop-off with Priestman in for Fadinger, but I couldn't have been more wrong.
