Now that we have gone through one round of games it's probably a good barometer on the team's progress. From my own point of view, I really think this is genuinely an exciting time for the club. The football we are playing is exceptional and like nothing I could ever have dreamed of seeing at Fir Park. I was chatting to a few mates, and I actually think the only game we have actually deserved to lose all season was the St Mirren semi final. If you look back at the league fixtures: Motherwell v Rangers - 1-1 - draw probably a fair result but could have nicked it. St Mirren 0 v 0 Motherwell - fair result Hearts 3 v 3 Motherwell -- should have won Motherwell 2- 2 Killie - Should have won Dundee 1 - 1 Motherwell - Should have won Motherwell 2- 0 Aberdeen - Justified Celtic 3 - 2 Motherwell - Draw probably would have been a fair result Motherwell 1 - 2 Falkirk - Game of two halfs- draw might have been a fair result. Livingston 1 - 2 - Fair result Motherwell 2 - 0 Dundee Utd - Fair result Aberdeen 1 - 1 Motherwell - Probably should have won it. Killie 1 - 3 Motherwell - Pumped them Motherwell 2 - 0 Hibs - Total domination. Every one of these games we have not been dominated by anyone and the really good thing about this is the trend we are moving towards - scoring goals and then controlling games, reducing the draws. Exciting times.

Tickets bought, looking forward to it. What a difference wandering into work these days, playing lovely football, a real positive feeling about the manager, players, club in general. someone posted the starting 11 at the same time last season on Twitter and my god we have come a long way. the blip was the semi final but it’s clear there have been lessons learned from it.

Brilliant result considering at one point I hadnt a clue who was playing where ! Not sure how many people played left back throughout the game Thats one position we need cover in. Shame Ewan Wilson is kicking his heels on the bench at Raith Rovers surely he would be better back learning how to play the Motherwell way

Last night proved we can rotate the starting eleven without shifting our fundamental approach. It also underlined JBA’s tactical nous in adapting formations to the game while keeping our style intact. With a few January ins/outs, we should only get better as the season progresses.

So many positives as others have said in regard to the gaffer and the players. I’d like to give a special shout out to Tom Sparrow - a guy who was one of our ‘go to’ guys under Wimmer and has very much been on the fringes as this new team and style is built. Given all that I thought he showed great character, application and good quality movement last night. I hope his patience can be rewarded (but earned) by more game time.

I see the whole Celtic management team were there last night. Surely they must look at their central defence and think it’s criminal to have let go of Welsh. I am a little concerned that they’ll want him back in January even though I think he was meant to be here for the season. the annoying thing is their fans think he’s hopeless and they will treat him like sh1t if he does go back there. He seems have have gotten a new lease of life at fir park…. We need him to stay.

Really looking forward to this. Squad rotation last night should ensure a really strong starting 11 and our bench players have just demonstrated they are up to the task should they be required. Will we survive the "big expectant crowd" jinx? (again) And would a win get us back in the title race? 😍😍😍

Must admit I did raise an eyebrow last night when I saw the team selection. But I neednt have worried. One of the most complete performances Ive ever seen from a Motherwell side. The players all now look so comfortable with what they are doing that there is a calmness about their play, and thats being transmitted to the stands. We are passing in areas that would have had us tearing our hair out at the start if the season, and its now just "normal" for us. Thats some transformation by the manager and players in such a short space of time. My only complaint about last night is we didnt put St Mirren to the sword and score 2 or 3 more and get 3rd spot outright. But thats just me being nitpicky. Although it looked like we were trying to score the perfect goal, second half, and turned down loads of opportunities to throw it in the box, it did mean we starved Hibs of any opportunity to catch us on the counter, probably something the manager has driven home after some of our early season collapses. Loved listening ro the manager talk about his change of tactics and thought processes last night, although, I might not have namechecked big Hanley! It doss show a higher level of tactical thinking than maybe we have been used to. Slightly concerned with no Stama on the bench last night. I hope it was just a matter of giving him the night off with a view to Hearts on Saturday. Another injury would be a bit annoying. Overall, very satisfying. Having rotated so heavily last night we should have plenty fresh legs for an entirely different challenge on Saturday. Life is good!

I agree that’s why I posted this earlier 😇
-
Don’t see us getting anything from this one infact I think we could actually be on the end of a drubbing. 1-5 Hearts
-
Then had a 6 minute warm down.
-
See! Thats how good he was!
-
Priestman hasn’t really made much of an impression on me with his substitute appearance but he slotted in seamlessly last night. Very impressive. Elijah Just a joy to watch. Hibs didn’t know what to do with him.
-
But he was subbed at 84 minutes 😉
-
Just and Maswanhise were great first half. Totally loved Saids mad scissor kick thing! Several others had very good performances. Overall 90 performance though I went for Priestman
-
Id suggest when you are in the first team and playing regularly you still need to do exactly what you are asked by the manager and coaches, or you will be straight back on the bench. Lets just agree if Lennon Miller focuses on his club and is playing first team football by May, he is going to the world cup.
-
Priestman first start and had the chance to impress and show what he can do. Did exactly that.
-
The highlights of a fantastic performance especially first half.
-
A bold move on the part of JBA. glad it payed off for him and us. In hindsight it really doesn’t look like much of a gamble. It would appear we have a squad who can maintain the team performance level regardless of who’s on the park. Happy days.
-
I now have an idea what it was.
-
To be fair, like many teams visiting Fir Park this season, the version of Hibs that turned up tonight was the version our players and tactics created.
-
JBA has impressed from day one but tonight was further evidence that we have someone special on our hands. Changing shape to combat Hibs threat whilst integrating 5 changes couldn’t have been envisaged by anyone. For the players, some of whom have barely featured, to then look so comfortable in their roles is testament to the work on the training pitch and the clear instruction provided by the manager. Three wins in one week is a lot to ask for and Hearts will be much stiffer opposition than the version of Hibs that turned up tonight. However, we should be confident of beating anyone with the quality and intelligence we have at our disposal.
-
And a game live on PPV TV, surprised we picked this one for one of our live UK broadcasts. I'll be disappointed if we don't get 10000 on Saturday , Hearts have sold 4600 tickets.

Best Motherwell performance i've ever seen, total control against a Hibs team that are expected to be in the top 4 WOW take a bow. Changes selection and formation this team couldn't make 2 passes last year its a joy going to the games now.
