From looking around Watt seems like a creative midfield player with an eye for a pass. From reading reactions his main drawbacks is he gives away cheap fouls round the box and he was arguing with the fans when he was the captain at Burton. Majority of St Johnstone fans seem to think he's a decent player for what it's worth

Unusual for club to put out a video that doesn't show you about 5 clips of Section E

Im really concerned with the change of signing strategy ๐. Whatever happened to signing aging players or those with a history of injuries ? Whats going to happen to our poor physios this season ? In all seriousness , overall ticks a lot of boxes . next step please bring back Alan Campbell . Could do with a bit of steel in the middle of the team .

Cheers. Generally avoid watching the videos the club put out. Can't stand the editing and music style.

He's behind Sparrow at about 5 seconds here https://x.com/MotherwellFC/status/1937888523849511076?t=Q_ZiVVVLZqlGhkmTATAbhA&s=19

Do we know if Miller traveled to Holland?
-
I just wish once,,,,, just once, that weโd sign a pacey winger, a Chris Humphrey, a Marvin Johnson, Iโd even celebrate a Lionel ainsworth. I know to some folk just now itโs old fashioned football and they are not โin styleโ but for the purpose of entertainment and getting to the bye line and whipping a cross inโฆ.. give me wingers all day long.

Not a particularly exciting signing, about whom I know very little, but that means nothing. We do need a core of solid citizens in the squad though, something we lacked last season. I wonder if he is a target we've tracked for some time i.e. mainly not of JBA's doing.

Consensus is he is comfortable on the ball and likes a pass. Struggled with his fitness when he first arrived in Scotland so only found his feet towards the end of the season. Scored against us at Fir Park in the 3-2 game but I have no real recollection of that! Has certainly played a lot of first team games and is still only 25. Would appear to be the right demographic if he has the quality. Maybe our Miller replacement?

You did read the line under the one you quoted? ๐๐๐
-
Or wait and see how well he plays for us.
-
Not really sure Watt to make of this signing! (Sorry Grizzly!). Never really made any impact on me when Ive seen Saints (if he even played against us). Will need to wait and see what the Saints fans over on P&B think. Although they did say Bair was shite so......
-
I see Carlisle have signed three strikers already so good chance we could get Luke Armstrong off them as itlooks like he's surplus to requirements
-
Are we signing players based on their hairstyle as that's Fadinger, McGhee and Watt all going for the Slattery look ๐คช
-
Me to, first thought we had re-signed Elliot Frear!

Near shat the bed when I saw the name. ๐ . Welcome to Motherwell Elliot

Even if he was out of contract and no negotiation agreed, I think Uefa brought in a rule following Bosman that might help us. Up until the season of a player's 23rd Birthday (in the absence of a negotiated agreement) every club that trained a player from ages 12-23 is due a proportionate share of 5% of any future transfer fee. But only if it is a cross country transfer, such as Austria to Italy. That is over and above any compensation due when he first signed for Sturm Graz. MJ is 23 in December 1926 so I think we are covered. It's a heavy read, but Uefa have a full section on Training and also Solidarity compensation (2 different schemes} which confirms the parent Club is compensated right up to age 23 in the absence of any agreement at the outset. I think. Fingers crossed.

Welcome to the club Elliot Watt.

Another potentially decent signing, welcome to the club Tony. Whoops!! Wrong Watt

Watt signs 2-year deal. https://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2025/06/26/elliot-watt-becomes-our-latest-signing/

Thanks I forgot he left at the end of his contract ๐คฆโโ๏ธ, aw well no bonus to add to the kitty.

It would depend if we managed to achieve a negotiation. Hopefully we did. On the other hand, it could also be that Max Johnston and Sturm Graz told us that they'd sealed a deal and statutory compensation would be paid. They're a big club so would have little to lose by swerving a negotiation and Max Johnston might not have given us a second thought.
