  1. Past hour
  2. At least Welsh won’t get player of the year now [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. With his injury record so far I wouldn’t like to rely on him as a main stay, back up might be fine.
  4. And if the goals against mean anything not a very good one. JBA however has turned a few below average players from last season into much imprved ones
  5. Plus the optional year the club has. Why sell now? unless stupid money of course. We dont want to dismantle our team and all the positives this has provided of the field. To sell now would be a big kick in the teeth to our increasing fan base.
  6. It has been a really special season and it has been the results in Glasgow and Edinburgh that has kept us from being in absolute dreamland. The what might have been from Hearts at Tynecastle, Celtic at Celtic Park, Rangers at Ibrox and Hibs yesterday. Small margins in games making the difference. I think now the quest for top three is over. The Celtic armageddon that latest all of three weeks is over. Rangers have found an impressive level of consistency and Hearts are now just too far ahead to reign them back in. I still believe we are at least as good as Hearts but they have been clinical in getting the job done. Strangely 5th place would almost seem anticlimactic now after some of the performances ( and consistency) this season, yet 4th will still require a herculean effort. A victory yesterday would have kept us in that top 3 fight so it seems like it has been a decisive weekend the way results have gone. Motherwell have hardly put a foot wrong this season in the league. It is a demonstration, if nothing else, of the consistency required to win a championship.
  7. 18 months left on his contract so we hold all the cards
  8. I said at the time I wasn't a big fan of loans - especially from clubs in the same league. He did fill an urgent gap, however, and there's no doubt he has performed well and played his part in our development. Now it's time to bring in a permanent replacement.
  9. If a club in the Championship down south wish to sign Watt, the price is £2m. If another Scottish club wishes to sign him, the price is £5m...
  10. Mcghee was predominantly a CB for dundee. Considering how we currently play, a CB who can also play in midfield seems like a decent fit. However, he will still need to be eased back in.
  11. Today
  12. McGhee can play there as well as RB and midfield. But will he be utilised there?
  13. Wells is the puzzling one. Was highly rated but got injured and then nothing said thereafter. Gone are the days of updates on injuries or development team performances. Everything is a big secret.
  14. We will need to get someone in for sure given lack of numbers. But im also sure Johnny K can also play cb and has done with us very well.
  15. I heard we did and could afford him. But he is on £10k plus PW at Celtic for the next 18 months. I would not be surprised to see him playing for them at least until season end. Their current defence is shocking. Just look at how we ran Scales ragged. I suspected he would be recalled as soon as I heard Nancy had been sacked.
  16. While it’s disappointing and he was clearly an integral part of the success so far, perhaps our best game to is season was against Celtic and Welsh didn’t play. Hopefully, we get another body in but we’ve shown we can live without him.
  17. We could always ask to buy him......
  18. With Welsh (and I assume Balmer) away, we need at least one centre back. We have McGinn, Gordon and O'Donnell. Not much cover given their injury records recently. Is McGhee going to be used there...?
  19. This is the pros and cons of loans system for clubs though isn’t it? we recalled Matty because of needing cover due to injury and Celtic are in similar position because the Man City player they had got recalled. yes arguably Celtic are in better position because Welsh has been getting game time and playing well so they have more than just a substitute/cover Personally I’m glad he performed for us rather than simply made up numbers as some loanees have done having said that we’ve also shown we can win without him so I thank him and move on.
  20. News of his return to Celtic has their fans rubbing their hands in glee, not! Apparently he is not good enough for them and would be more useful staying with us to try and take points of Rangers and Hearts. From a personal point of view it cant be a good move for Welsh as he is unlikely to get regular playing time with them. This is the problem with loan deals. Ok for very short term but can cause problems down the line. Celtic seem desperate, disorganised and clueless just now with transfer dealings. So if they come calling for our own players, double our asking price.
  21. Loan players are always a high risk which is the main reason I hate using them. in my opinion loan should be for young players only or a specified fixed contract time ie end of season.
  22. Think they are more likely to move him on. If not Aberdeen, his performances for us will have alerted others. That said. given that Celtic's central defence is a shambles and Carter Vickers is out injured he might get his chance. They also loaned Inamura back to Japan despite having given him a 4 year deal in the summer. Askou will sort it out. With SOD injured and Balmer likely on his way I hope we get two central defenders in fairly quickly. The Watt to Rangers rumour is also gathering pace although his injury is delaying matters so I am told. At least with Watt we have a say in matters.
  23. That would be funny if they didn't get him.
  24. Is out of contract in summer so nest get him signed up
  25. You might have to, as word on the street is he's not going to Aberdeen.
  26. Not at Aberdeen he won't, I'd walk into that Aberdeen team
