The 2 home games against Hibs and Falkirk are absolutely critical to finishing 4th. I can't see us winning both games. From that lot I can see us picking up maybe 6 or 7 points. Thats not to say, of course, that we still won't finish 4th. Hibs may well pip us at the post, but they're not perfect either as their failure to beat Livingston yesterday shows.

Kmcalpin has repeatedly said we were never in the mix for a title challenge, so that can't be his reasoning. Singling out defeats as proof we lack big game mentalty while ignoring the home wins against Celtic and Hibs, the draws against Rangers, or any other 3 points that have helped put us where we are now, feels harsh. The title's still up in the air and only St Mirren have won silverware (while staring at a play-off), so we're pretty much all in the same boat when it comes to questioning mentality - which Hearts, Hibs and Falkirk fans are probably doing this morning.

I think Tex meant for wrestling in the box at a corner. I agree, you dont usually see that. However, when it happens at the back post, your defender is isolated and the keeper has come and missed leaving the goal wide open, it creates a particular set of circumstances that is hard to defend.

Yip, just watched the highlights and agree with all of that. Celtics penalty and red card I can live with, but how Chamberlain remained on the park is a disgrace. Changes the whole game.
-
I’m still annoyed by the Dundee game, much more so than that yesterday. If we’d have played with the same attitude against Dundee as we did yesterday we’d be sitting on 56 points and miles clear of Hibs.

Cos it was our game in hand which if we'd won would put us right in the mix for a title challenge, the media had actually started taking us seriously, and we instantly lost to a Dundee team, that while improving, hadn't won in their last 3 home matches, including Livingston.

This is a must win for me now. We've been brilliant at home this season and put ourselves in a good place to get into Europe, a win here makes it a 9 point gap with 7 to play and opens up a nice cushion going into a very difficult last 7 games. I think we're going to have to get to 63 points to secure us 4th and that means realistically we're looking at winning our home games v Hibs and Falkirk and then collecting 4 points from Hearts (H&A), Celtic (H), Rangers (A), Falkirk (A), Hibs (A).

When was the last time you were at Parkhead or Ibrox it happen all the time. Opposition red cards for fuk all.
-
I think JBA and the players are hurting right now and that they are going to come out next week and remind everyone why we got so many plaudits this season.
-
We still have 8 games left. ‘mon the ‘Well ! we are not done yet !!!!

When watching stream today it showed same angle repeatedly but no view from behind goal. So not sure if Maeda was pulling Longello’s shirt. If he wasn’t, then it’s a penalty. However, I’ve never seen a red card for that type of Incident.

Where did you watch highlights? Would like to watch them. Sportscene highlights AS USUAL did not reflect on how we controlled game for so much of the time. And assault on Just - not mentioned.
-
Just in and watche highlights Oxlade-Chamberlain should have been on 2 yellows Maeda flings an elbow JT pen claim is no softer than the Celtic one. Fed up of this refereeing time and again.

Hearts keep playing like that, and the uglies won't need much help reeling them in.
-
With hearts losing today, just watch as Celtic and Rangers both start to get 'narrow' wins involving penalties and winners in the 100th minute.
-
Not for us though. They'll be sweating in Paisley tonight!
-
Start Thor next week for Said. Said went off boil recently.

I wouldnt include the Aberdeen Cup game. Nothing wrong with our mentality in that game. Even after the first freak red card, we regained our composure and control over the game. At 10 v 10 we were the better team and looked like we had every chance to get back in it. Our second red card kills it, and Im not having that as a red card ever. Killie had a player brought down on the edge of the box tonight goalside and absolutely getting a shot away. Yellow card. The standard of officiating in this country is horrendous.

Hearts lost. The title challenge is back on!!!
-
Scottish referees worst in Europe. Watched Newcastle Barca game and various times player had 2 hands on players in box and not even yellow card. Var ruining our title bid due to dud referees. Cheating beating. Nearly every time they have to look at var screen they give the decision. Absolute Muppets. Need to get rid of them all and get ones from England.
-
Just seen the foul by Chelsea's James on the Newcastle number 12 in tonight's match, which went completely unpunished. The game's in a real mess over penalty box jostling.

The gaffer
-
Yes, seems to me he's simply assuming the mantle of the likes of Craig Thomson, who really seemed to have it in for us. The OF play referees like violins with their constant complaints and it works. Tough Gove for the rest of us.......

It's almost as if they know their constant whining about him having an agenda against Celtic forces him to give them every debatable decision. As for his actual competence as a ref, he made 4 huge calls in our games at Pittodrie and Parkhead, and VAR 'corrected' 3 of his clear and obvious errors.
