  1. Past hour
  2. Think its on Premier, so tuning in now
  3. Miller starts against Palermo in the Coppa Italia tonight.
  4. Today
  5. Apologies if someone has mentioned this but what was the story about Just. I presume he was injured , hopefully nowt serious.
  6. Said!!!! have you seen his final ball ?? he really needs to work on that cos everything else is decent.
  7. Before the transfer window I fancied us in both games against Aberdeen because I thought Aberdeen were pish. On paper I thought they'd strengthened significantly in the window. So my natural slant towards pessimism I thought the cup tie would be a step to much for us. Thankfully it didn't turn out that way. I was always more hopeful for the home league game. If we can play as we can , and to be fair that's better than we played on Saturday, we should be able to get 3 points.
  8. Ah gotcha. So if my rough maths is anywhere near correct we would take 1/6 of £1.8m so £300k. Add on the £50k uplift in prize money and the £30k tv rights and we have a nice tidy wee sum.
  9. Some years ago, Stewart Robertson told me that in cup ties and the like 1/3 of the gate receipts goes to the home team, one third to the away team and one third in costs. In effect then, the home team takes 2/3 of the gate money. (Dundee is an exception LOL). In the semis, the SPL/stadium owners will pocket 1/3 of the gate money for costs. The other 2/3 will be split 4 ways. Thats the theory. However, I'd imagine the SPFL will take a cut over and above costs. Also, I don't know if the 20% VAT is included in the 1/3 allocated to costs.
  10. We'll get £150,000 for reaching the semi final. Gate money is then pooled and we'll get approximately 1/6th of that (minus the SPFL cut). We also receive about 1/3 of catering and programme sales from the actual game (these are not pooled). The bottom line is that we should make about £500K from the game. Of that figure of course, we'll have to deduct player/management bonuses. Worth noting that the Government siphons off 20% of the ticket sales in gate money. A tidy sum though which will keep our accountants happy.
  11. id maybe skip the first half an hour of Paul slane being Paul slane but the rest of it with Lennon was quite good
  12. Long late journey back up the road for Aberdeen supporters on a Saturday night . Hopefully made even longer after a scudding from us.
  13. Had to go check that as I thought the ko was 5.15pm, but you are right enough. I guess the tv broadcast starts at 5.15pm. Bit of a shite ko time. I guess dinner will be a Chasni Pie Meal Deal!
  14. From what I can make out from the SPFL website, we get an extra £50k prize money for making the semis, and extra £30k tv revenue plus our share of the pooled gate money. Taking a conservative estimate of 60k fans over the 2 games and an average ticket price of £30, the games will generate £1.8m. Obviously there are costs associated with that and the SPFL will no doubt take a share but we could easily be looking at doubling that number. If we were to win the game and get to the final? This is why cup runs are important to clubs our size and why it has been so frustrating that past managers have fielded weakened teams trying to get past smaller clubs and making an arse of it!
  15. Our good run in the league cup has also brought us a decent cash reward just over £228k so far from TV and prize money, with hopefully more to come. https://x.com/SPFLWatch/status/1969807339491602477?t=yHwDPCKasnNOq9fpSPS6Gg&s=09
  16. Its only the ugly sisters followers that subscribe given nearly every one of their away games is on TV.
  17. Yesterday
  18. 5.45pm kick off is it on tv Just seen its on pishy premier, the channel no one watches
  19. I tend to agree but based on Saturday, none of Said, Maswanhise or Charles-Cook deserve to lose their place...
  20. Not criticising any of our players, they all have different styles and jobs to perform. for instance I admire Watt greatly does his job quietly nothing too fancy, always makes himself available and rarely makes mistakes. But for me Elijah has quick feet and a brain to match, if fit he has to be one of the first picks.
  21. Once we win both cups this argument will be immaterial!!
  22. I see where folks are coming from re the European argument. The only game Ive been away to was Athens and although it was sa great trip/experience, the football wasnt great. I must say, I would love to see how a JBA team gets on in European comptetition. I have a feeling it might be an entirely different experience. Of course, the League Cup doesnt present that opportunity and Id much rather see us win that than get Europe if it was a straight choice, but why cant we do both? First things first however, lets get our first league win in the bag and then we can start thinking about the semi-final.
  23. Not too fussed about Europe either, I will take a league cup win over Europe every season Great to finish 3rd and 4th, as we have had a great league season of course, but usually quite disappointing outcome Usually find as well the clubs who qualify for Europe have a very poor start to the league campaign
  24. He's not our player and he's the small fish now
  25. I thought it was interesting that JBA did call out Just as one of the best players so pretty sure he will be back in when fit, plus he has great assists stats already
  26. Thought we played well at the weekend attended after a surgery last week so the standing wasn't great but found a seat near the pitch which gave me a great view of our goal so all good. What really impressed me was that we've altered our tactic slightly to suit the players available or at least looked that way on another day we'd have bear aberdeen by more than one but glad we got over the line if we can get it over the line again on Saturday it'd be a fantastic return. Bit were off to hampden again
  27. The financial benefit makes it well worth playing in Europe - especially if you make it to the group stages. It's also something the players want to be involved with, and an added attraction for new signings. And, to be honest, I find the thought of playing a Euro game or two at the start of the season more appealing than a trip to New Douglas Park and yet another game against Morton.
