  1. Past hour
  2. Dylan Wells has resurfaced and has been sent out on loan to Stirling Albion for the rest of the season. Good luck to the lad.
  3. I must have missed that day
  4. Today
  5. and normally you tell jokes but not this time .
  6. He does have an underlying problem.......he can't finish 🤪🤪 (sorry Callum)
  7. Whilst I don't know for certain, this sounds as though he has some kind of underlying problem. Agree he just hasn't worked out.
  8. Two things from today’s update that stood out for me: Hendry ā€œoverloadedā€ again. He’s barely played. A signing that just hasn’t worked out unfortunately. JBA the comedian: ā€œStephen’s [O’Donnell] back jammed up a little. He had to come off, but he managed to bend forward and sign a new deal with us. The back didn’t stop him, and he’s back in training.ā€ https://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2026/01/15/scottish-cup-team-news/
  9. Apologies, yes. I was just thinking that. Furlong is maybe a decent shout?
  10. he is Furlong was the Lb we had on Loan from Brighton second half of 22/23 season and was probably the best Lb we'd had since Hammell at that point was good on the ball and defensively
  11. Its a bit of a sh&t show at Park Head ( poor them ) Not only a replacement of manager but a replacement of the guy that made a chops of signing Nancy and a total mess of summer recruitment was binned. Suspect that they had a bunch of players lined up and they've had to cancel all of the above and almost start again to recruit. I can see why as a club they had to act by a certain date and recall players. I think there being pretty fair to outline that he could well come back to us by end of Window. Panic stations and Welsh gets caught in the crossfire.,
  12. You not mixing him up with Matt Penney?
  13. I'd hope not. His record with us was very patchy at best and he made it know he didn't enjoy being at Fir Park. In short he seemed to have an attitude problem. What has he done since?
  14. I saw his name pop up on social media earlier and I thought ā€œhow do I know that nameā€ I’d forgotten all about this guy. im sure this was a spell we seemed to bring in so many loan players and then they just drifted away. I worry that as I don’t remember him well enough that he wasn’t that great.
  15. Halliday hadn't featured before his injury but his glowing praise of JBA shows how much respect players have for him.
  16. I'm not even sure O'Neill wanted him back. From his comments, it sounded like the higher-ups wanted him back so they could assess their options.
  17. Positive noises from JBA about both Halliday and Nicholson in training. Whether he really thinks they can play active part is open to debate but wouldn’t be the first time JBA surprised us plus he does like to ā€˜manage’ the minutes. AH is probably too immobile for system but I can see SN playing a part.
  18. We should be he was good when we had him on loan a few years ago and would provide good competition for Longelo and give us a ready made replacement should we sell Longelo in the summer. We need to get a CB in to replace Welsh/Balmer who has been recalled We could do with a no 10 being signed as well now teams are sitting in against us we need a bit more creativity in the final third. We've apparently signed Ethyor Bjorgolfsson who's a St who scored 15 in 29 games in the sweedish second division this season in a side that got relegated. Jordan Mcghee will be like a new signing now he's fit so that replaces Balmer. If we're being really greedy a RW and Cm would give us real strength and depth and get us into Europe. Need to shift Nicholson, Stuperavic, Robinson, Halliday if we bring in a CM.
  19. I get that feeling but shame it’s going to be a free
  20. To be fair, with Nancy in charge they told us he could stay. Then O’Neil came back and I’m assuming he said bring him back and let’s decide after the 14th. If O’Neil hadn’t came back till after 14th Welsh would have been here now.
  21. Think Slattery will be away at end of season. Hope its to a team down south.
  22. Wonder if we are looking at James Furlong. As for ODonnell, he has his weaknesses but in this system he has excelled. Valuable guy to have around. Good professional off field and useful backup when needed.
  23. Nancy didn’t want him as he wanted some guy who played as a centre back with his MLS team. As far as what I heard Welsh was told 2 days before he was recalled back that he was allowed to stay at Motherwell for the rest of the season. Motherwell were told this and then told he was getting recalled. I think it’s more of doing the dirty on the player rather than us. Just a poor way to treat someone who ultimately isn’t wanted by their parent club. but as mentioned above, I’d much prefer a permanent CB to be signed and is OUR player rather than loan deals.
  24. I think Slats might be the one to leave. He'll have been with us for 5 years in the summer and if he is looking to play elsewhere, he's at the right age for a move. Be delighted if he stayed, though.
  25. Ok that’s Jack and Victor signed up, let’s get Slats signed up now.
  26. Nice to see some sensible posts now and again šŸ˜‚ Actually, I found it hard to believe that they didn’t recall him when Nancy was there.
  27. Agreed. I was never in doubt that SOD has some football in him, but I did have some doubts about a few of his managers letting him show it. He seems like a great leader off the pitch, too.
