  1. Past hour
  2. I saw it, and I remember it. I also remember being relegated twice, and the years of damage that did to the club. To each their own.
  3. Well strictly speaking, yes! The team scoring the most goals deserves to win but I get what you are saying.
  4. We need to be up for it to keep Hibs at bay. They play Livingston while we play Celtic so we are realistically going into a head to head with Hibs with only 4 points between us.
  5. 100% and thats also true of finishing in the top 3. Its just unrealistic and not going to happen.
  6. Today
  7. Ive never been in the camp that we could win the league , you just needed to look at our remaining fixtures before today and we' realistically needed to win 9 of our remaining 10 games. That meant winning at Celtic Park, Tynecastle , Ibrox , Easter Road and Celtic and Hearts at Fir Park , In no world was that EVER going to happen.
  8. I’m just glad we weren’t playing Dunfermline today. Thats a shocker for Aberdeen though, to have the 3rd biggest wages bill in Scotland and getting thumped by a championship team is not acceptable.
  9. Dunfermline 3-0 up v dons, at least OX still got chance of Scottish cup success
  10. True . Wise words We came a long way . But others have won cups and thus made legends . If we even keep a 3rd of squad together we should make top 6 next year and chance of cup semi final
  11. as I said a view that suggests any team that doesn't win deserves to lose and I just don't accept that. We will just need to agree to differ.
  12. We were miles off it today unfortunately Bringing on the big man at half time was the right shout, but uv got to give him something to attack in the box just a bad day at the office in a great season Might be in the minority but I wouldn’t swap St Mirrens cup for the entertainment we’ve produced this season
  13. No team deserves anything, but they did what we couldn't do scored twice. Simples really.
  14. So by that theory every game you don't win you deserve to lose? don't agree. Dundee didn't deserve to win today.
  15. Yes. Because you can go through your whole life and see your team winning nothing of note. St Mirren supporters will remember winning the cup for the whole of their life. Just like those who saw us winning in 1991.
  16. Silverware is permanent , form and league status are transient.
  17. I read it as they deserved. to win because they came into the game with a plan and left with three points. So well played Dundee. It was up to us to break them down and we just couldn’t do it today. Another day we might have.
  18. They scored twice, had the ball in the net but fortunately for us it was offside. They also rattled the underside of the bar. So obviously they deserved the win.
  19. Spot on. Football is about winning things. We like all the teams outside of the bigot brothers have only two cups we can win. So would I swap our season for St Mirren. You better believe I would.
  20. We were a bit off it today but fort the life of me I cant believe folk saying Dundee deserved to win. They had two efforts on goal and scored with both. One being an absolute gift. By any measure of all statistics today we didnt deserve to lose even as below par as we were.
  21. Do you remember Wullie Pettigrew, or Bobby Graham, or Tommy Coyne, or Brian Martin etc?
  22. Absolutely gutted at a defeat. Still much to play for though in the league. Much prefer to be in top 6 than bottom 6
  23. No-one knows for sure, but I'm assuming JBA will be offski and has probably already been sounded out by clubs higher up the food chain than us. However I trust the directors have a very good idea of the kind of manager that now suits us and will source another in the same vein. We are a selling club and it may well be that some or all of Just, Manwhanise, Said and Watt move on for healthy fees. Welsh will also be moving on. Those fees will greatly help the club financially long term. As we sourced Manwhanise, Just, Watt etc we can source equally good replacements, but the difference this time will be that we'll know were our weaknesses lie. We're a good footballing side but management will know that we lack bottle, hardness and ruthlessness and that will be addressed.
  24. Good post Grizzly. We have a helluva fight on our hands to hold onto 4th place. Lets get behind the team. By next weekend Hibs will likely be just 4 pts below us. Then 2 huge games against them and Falkirk. The 2 easiest games of our run in. We've come a long way in 1 year. But we're very much work in progress as Dundee pointed out today. If that result can bring a few of us back to reality then its been a good day.
