  2. https://x.com/blackpoolfc/status/1949120298495664425?s=46&t=8C9VuM5V_21MGVj9jGzzoA you just know this will happen a few times this season but as the jam once said “that’s entertainment”
  3. Thats fine as far it goes. However could we cope defensively if Hearts play that type of game against us?
  4. The only purpose of the seeding is to keep the Ugly sisters apart till the final, as the SFA /SPFL do all in their power to pander to them its a feckin nonsense. As far as I can tell the seeds are the 5 Euro teams plus Hearts, StJ and Partick.
  5. What I'm saying about the seeding is that whether you like it or not, there's no point in worrying about it because our history shows it has made little (if any) difference to our progress in the competition. Personally, I think that by the time you reach the knockout stages in a cup competition there should be no seeding, but others may disagree. I'm not even a fan of the best runners up, tbh, but we just have to get on with it and keep winning.

  7. Frankly (and I say this every year) seeding in the cup draw is a nonsense. It's not like it was in European football where every single team has has to go through the group stages so finishing first rather than second in the group should entitle you to some advantage. But even there, I'm a bit 'open draw, see what happens'. If the 'big teams' want to win the cup, they need to beat everyone else anyway...
  8. Seeded you don't get Celtic Rangers Aberdeen or Hearts/Hibs last 16 most seasons. Play down the value of seeding if you like but it does give you a better route to the QF. The last 16 draw is a totally different animal if you are seeded. And, looking to your example, St Mirren away is better than Celtic etc away. Getting through the group is the main thing so job done. But given the advantages the top league team is given throughout the group stage, being unseeded in the next round is an opportunity missed.
  9. Old Cliché but true, luck of the draw!
  10. We were unseeded last season and got Killie at home in the first knockout round. Season before, we were seeded and drew St Mirren away.
  11. Looks like hearts thistle and StJ so we’ll be hoping for thistle or saints at home but unlikely to happen.
  12. I've supported Motherwell a long time we are never that lucky in cup draws, but any of those 3 would be a result.
  13. I’m sitting watching the hearts v Sunderland game and I have to say the way we have played in the past 2 games is miles more entertaining than this muck. Hearts keep launching the ball up the park and into Channels and Sunderland aren’t much better although are trying to play a wee bit.(they will be relegated by Xmas) i think im becoming Askou-ized
  14. Or Alloa, Thistle or St Johnstone...
  15. Other results today are not going for us, so its very unlikely we are going to be one of the 3 best group winners and be seeded. So away at one of the Premiership clubs in the last 16 is looming.
  16. 53’000 average home crowd last season…..71’000 at their home game with Hamburg
  17. The Bluenose must have forgotten that they qualified from the same group as us the first year they changed the format in the 2016/17 competition.
  18. Hoping Lennon Miller plays and scores the winner Was speaking to a fellow Well fan in work before the Morton game , asked how he thought the game would go Bluenose listening into the conversation enquired if we were talking about the Rangers game ? No mate we are talking about the Well game my response . I didn't even know Motherwell were playing tonight was the response I got . Is it a friendly ? Just shows the majority of them know nothing about Scottish football unless it involves their two Glasgow clubs Even tried to explain to one how the Premier Sports Cup groups work and how to qualify , was apparently some bizarre situation that wouldn't have happened back in the day 🤣
  19. Has signed a 3 year deal for Livi today. Was never fussed about him when his name was mentioned - so happy to see he wont be coming to us.
  20. That's usually just manager (and club) speak for "he's negotiating a move, but we're not telling journos about it until it's complete" Minor niggles always seem to happen to players who are about to leave.
  21. I've only seen it once from behind the goal, thought it was a stonewaller tbf.
  22. A tough fixture but one we have to play hope they go out get in about their faces. Mon the well
  23. While it was brilliant to beat them at Ibrox I just think that beating them at Fir Park in front of the home crowd especially next Saturday first game of the season, lights on (probably) would be that bit better and more satisfying. Can’t see it happening though.
  24. Latest from manager, lennon may play, don't understand the situation,he apparently had a minor niggle but hasn't played any of the games.
