  1. Past hour
  2. Any more weird than attacking a random person by accusing them of not supporting his team because they were in the lower leagues?
  3. It was weird how you jumped to a random person's defence.
  4. Today
  5. Well Alloa have knocked us out of the League Cup once before so… But in all honesty I would not trust Motherwell to win ANY Cup tie regardless of who the opposition is. I would though prefer us to have the easiest game on paper to give us the best chance.
  6. If we draw Alloa at home you will still have us down for a 3-0 defeat 🤪🤪
  7. Or maybe he doesn’t remember something that happened the best part of a decade ago now? I’d hardly describe 2016 as “very recently”. I don’t doubt that you have met fans of both clubs that fit that category, but at the same time that can also be applied to many Motherwell fans. I’ve said this before but there are plenty who never set foot inside Fir Park for run of the mill games yet come out of the woodwork for Cup semis/finals or European games then disappear again. And usually those are the ones who have the cheek to call Old Firm fans glory hunters.
  8. I worked in Glasgow for more than 40 years and knew many "fans" of both arse cheeks who had never set foot inside the stadium of their chosen club. The original point was that this fan had no knowledge of the group stages in the League cup despite his club's participation very recently. Or to put it another way, wind yer neck in.
  9. Come on m8, you'll be claiming they rallied round to save their club next.....
  10. I care who we draw because I want us to have a good cup run. No doubt it’ll be Celtic or Rangers home or away, or else Hearts at Tynecastle and that will be that for us.
  11. Good to see you still “feeding the troll” as well as talking shite. I was stating a fact. When Rangers were in the lower leagues they regularly had big crowds. A fact that doesn’t support the suggestion made by the poster I quoted that because Rangers were playing in the lower leagues their fans would have no interest in supporting them.
  12. Agreed thats the best attitude to have, see who we get then deal with that game. 👍
  13. Good to see you keep up to date with what's happening at your big team.
  14. It was their first season (back) in the top flight. And why would he not have been supporting them in the lower leagues? Rangers regularly sold out their allocations home and away while they were playing in the lower divisions at the same time as Celtic had to shut the top tier of the stand at Parkhead as their fans lost interest without Rangers in the league.
  15. Yesterday
  16. Fuck it, who cares if we're seeded or not? lotta shite. I don't care who we draw.
  17. They were possibly down the leagues then, he wouldn't have been supporting them at that point.
  18. There’s definitely a time for the long ball or taking the chance of getting the ball into the box but that’s what the players have to learn, making the right decision between retaining possession and taking a risk. Our normal over the past few years has involved no such decision making, it’s just been hoof the ball up and chase it.
  19. Open draw after the round of 16 is it not? So they have to use the hot and cold or rough and smooth ball ploy to keep them apart
  20. Its been a bugbear of mine for years how easily we gave the ball away. If the opposition don't have the ball they cant score. That's why I'm so interested to see how we fare this season. Will our goals against improve, what will we do if teams try to man mark us?? interesting times.
  21. LOL , thats exactly the clip I sent to my mate a couple of hours ago saying exactly the same thing.
  22. Every team that plays out from the back loses a goal like that - even the good ones like Liverpool. Brendan Rodgers had a point when he said that fans are quick to criticise when you lose a goal that way, but are quick to forget (or not even remember) when the long ball gets returned 10 seconds later for a goal - and that happens more often.
  23. https://x.com/blackpoolfc/status/1949120298495664425?s=46&t=8C9VuM5V_21MGVj9jGzzoA you just know this will happen a few times this season but as the jam once said “that’s entertainment”
  24. Thats fine as far it goes. However could we cope defensively if Hearts play that type of game against us?
  25. The only purpose of the seeding is to keep the Ugly sisters apart till the final, as the SFA /SPFL do all in their power to pander to them its a feckin nonsense. As far as I can tell the seeds are the 5 Euro teams plus Hearts, StJ and Partick.
  26. What I'm saying about the seeding is that whether you like it or not, there's no point in worrying about it because our history shows it has made little (if any) difference to our progress in the competition. Personally, I think that by the time you reach the knockout stages in a cup competition there should be no seeding, but others may disagree. I'm not even a fan of the best runners up, tbh, but we just have to get on with it and keep winning.
