  1. Past hour
  2. I would hope that unless negotiations for any of our better players are at a significantly advanced stage, then all of them should be playing v HB (unless injured). I get that we are a selling club, and I get that we cant stand in the way of players progressing their careers, we literally sell ourselves as the vehicle for that, but deals can fall through and the club has a duty to the fans first and foremost.
  3. SOD and JK both started v Aarhus, Just will come in for Preistman as he is our best player, Longelo I take your point on but if he's fit he plays. You'd hope he gives the 11 he plans on starting v HB 60 against Genk minus Just who he'll probably only let play 45 as he only came back on Thursday
  4. Priestman will play. Has SOD, Longello or jonny K featured yet?
  5. I think its too early to say. The Genk friendly next week should give us a better idea. Will our better players have moved on by the first HB game? Will we see more arrivals by then? Was Stama taken off injured against Aarhus? Little mention so far of Longelo or Thor in pre season games. So many unknowns at the moment.
  6. I had a look into this. There is no particular stat I have that exactly covers this but some that give a general idea. If you look at the shots to goals ratio from selected sides (top, bottom, teams around us) in the Premiership we weren't bad at all. Hibs - 12% Motherwell - 11% Falkirk - 11% Celtic - 11% Livingston - 10% Dundee Utd - 9% If you look at touches in the box to goals ratio again we don't seem to especially stick out as being poor in this regard. Hibs - 6.6% Falkirk - 6.5% Motherwell 6.1% Celtic - 5.5% Dundee Utd - 5.3% Livingston - 5.3% So at a glance Hibs were the best team in terms of being clinical in front of goal but there really isn't any significant margin between the teams.
  7. Today
  8. Team for the game v HB will be: Connelly JK SOD Moormann Longelo Watt Fadinger Said Just RCC Maswanhise (If fit) if not 1 of Vogt or Stama
  9. Spot on Dave, im all for giving the academy plsyers game time but AJ should be concentrating on what our 1st choice starting 11 will be, the ECL game is in two weeks and the league starts three weeks today. For me the squad looks a bit threadbare in certain areas, cenral defence, goal keeper and striking options up top so i hope our recruitment team are working hard to fill the gaps.
  10. Yes and no. Player "trading" suggests not just comings but also goings.
  11. Its not been said, but I assume a broken jaw will sideline him for a wee while. He certainly won't be able to eat at the moment. Its a bit concerning though that we're playing so many young lads in games we should be using to prepare for the impending Conference League ties. Giving the development squad some gametime is no bad thing though, just not quite so much of it just now.
  12. Yesterday
  13. When did they say JT would be out for several weeks? He was back in training this week.
  14. That was a bit concerning, especially as we have a small squad at the moment. Certainly, we know about TJ, who will be out for several weeks, and McGinn and Hendry, who are out for months. Hopefully, not much more than that.
  15. To me this sounds like Thor. Hopefully see more of him this year.
  16. Do we have any information on the injuries referred to?
  17. Can’t help but interpret ‘youthful’ meaning likely to stay for next season . was positive to hear Dawes is busy
  18. Alfred’s interview suggests a very youthful team. He suggested the game enabled 2009 and 2010 players to get hair on their chests?? id like to see our more established players get minutes in their legs before playing a really good side on Friday night but hey ho… I’ll trust the process (I hate that phrase… sorry)
  19. Me too mate. He scored goals for fun with Clydebank, went down south and did nowt, came back to us and scored a few but never lived up to what he'd done at the Bankies previously. I had the card as well 🙂 May even still have it. I have a Gola football boot box of early mid 70s football cards somewhere in the loft !
  20. With Carlisle Goals coming from Mair, Mugabe and Armstrong. just kidding. No clue who scored for them 😂
  21. "Another step in our pre-season journey 💪 A predominantly young Motherwell side faced Carlisle United in a behind-closed-doors friendly match this afternoon at Fir Park. The visitors came away with a 3-2 win in a tightly contested match, with goals coming from Ewan Wilson and Ibrahim Said for the home side."
  22. I remember as a kid being quite excited that we signed him and it was for quite a bit as far as I remember. I also remember getting a football card of him from a packet of chewing gum and being elated. He was wearing the Motherwell admiral kit with the 2 claret stripes down the front. Rest in Peace Mike.
  23. One for older readers but Mike larnach has passed away. I remember us signing him late 1970's but not many memories of him playing. Was a big signing at time but didn't live up to expectations, RIP and condolences to family
  24. Anyone know what the result was today?
