League Cup Semi Motherwell v St Mirren 1/11/2025

I spoke to him outside at the 2018 s cup final , the 2 nil defeat. final and yes he's passionate about the club. Pity his mates have seen us loose a few big cup matches. Think he's trying to encourage them to be fans. - Today

Saw good clip on Facebook from ex well player Simon Ramsden. The Love the guy still has for club is immense. He was up for game with his mates. Clip of him in stadium talking about love for club then he attempts to start a sing song, jeez tough crowd he had as not a lot of enthusiasm joining in . I now know what it would be like for me if I ever tried a stand up gig at the Centenary Suite 🤣🤣

Hopefully they pick up a few knocks on their travels and come back tired and sore. I’ll take any advantage we can get. we are more than capable of winning this but we need everybody to play well and take our chances when we have them but at the same time, no silly defensive mistakes.
-
I don’t like it when MJC predicts a win for us, so I’m quite happy to see him predict defeat
-
Negativity to the dark side leads, listen not to the dark lord MJC belive in the force that is Motherwell.
-
Ba boom tish 🎵
-
Hopefully yes then come Sunday when the game is we will be ready 🤣
-
Does anyone know if Motherwell TV is showing this on Sunday? It says international only? im not sure if Red Tv is showing it either but I don’t really want to give them the money.
-
Tam Sparrow - good energy, set up our goal and stopped a certain goal after we fannied about in our box

The problem is its an uphill task and the whole event is weighted against St Mirren. From Celtic having their own end and dressing room at an apparently neutral statium. You will probably also see comments in the press from Celtic spokespersons about St Mirren's approach in the lead up, trying to put the refs under pressure. Maybe less so now Rodgers is away, but its all in the play-book. We've seen this all first hand against us.
-
They got rid of the problem last week. They still have top quality players and by the Final date I fully expect them to be back in top form, not that I give a shit tho. I don't think I would have been looking forward to meeting them in another final and getting humped. Happy to leave that pleasure to the Saints.

Had we got Celtic in the final Id have been more confident than any other time we faced them in a final. Celtic are a shadow of the team the were and were fortunate to beat a 10 man Rangers team. Sure they will be favourites against St Mirren but St Mirren will not face a weaker Celtic team ever again. -

I was thinking that as well maybe a few of our fans should think before they speak. -
St Midden have as much chance of beating Celik in a final at Hampden as we would if we had got there. That's no chance at all .

I think they stand a decent chance to beat Celtic , Celtic are a shadow of the team theyve been in recent years. - Yesterday

I don't envy them either. Think O Neil has galvanised them too. I would have been more confident facing Rogers team. -

Yes he has 2. Next one will be third. I think Alex McLeish lost 4 finals -
I think we are all acknowledging it was a bad day and hopefully we respond in positive manner. I am quite sure players hurting as a huge missed opportunity for them. COYW

Yes and No. However the kinda of fuck up we did against a very average St Mirren side (enough of this tactical genius pish by Robinson,) we did against Hearts, Celtic, Kilmarnock and Falkirk. We gift goals like its going out of fashion. I fancy us to beat ourselves again on Saturday.

I'm thinking along similar lines. Robinson and his squad for me are more streetwise, been kicking around long enough and more accustomed to these types of big events. I'm a huge fan of our gaffer , squad and everything we're trying to do but I do feel the occasion overwhelmed the team . Fair play to StMirren they executed their plan ruthlessly. Overall it became a non event all too quickly and I just hope we can bounce back and put some results together. It could easily become a tipping point , it's essential that we come through the next few games with wins. -
Only shining light is 'Andy a Well fan' just beat Roger Hannah on beat the pundit on Clyde 2. Nice one

Diddy cup anyway -
I don't really envy a 4th consecutive cup final v Celtic tbh. St Mirren likely on a hiding to nothing. 1/5 of the stadium Their players will no doubt be be getting immediate bookings while Maeda runs around carte-blanche fouling as usual
