I don't think we are in a title race realistically , but while it's mathematically possible just need to keep getting results. It is the closest we have been to the top of the league at this stage of a season since 1994, which is an achievement for me
-
Gordon starting in defence doesn’t inspire confidence but the reality is we’re short on options so don’t really have any alternative. However today pans out it’s going to be a big wake up call and reality check for anyone who seriously believes we are in any sort of contention for the league title. It’s absolute pie in the sky stuff because we are ten points behind the side in top spot and have failed to beat both Hearts and Rangers in five attempts between both of them and haven’t won away against any of the top six sides. It’s all well and good citing really good performances and “could have, should have” beaten Rangers twice at FP, “could have, should have” beaten Hearts at Tynecastle and “could have, should have” taken at least a point the last time we played at Celtic Park. The common theme from all of those games is “could have, should have, did not”. It’s been a good season and we’ve been great to watch but there is a limit to how good this team actually is and I think we have peaked now.

That Old Chestnut - Do We Move Or Do We Stay

Very interesting! Certainly a load of ideas in there to broaden our horizens as we move forward. -
I wouldnt have Gordon near it. Celtic will isolate him and press him when he has the ball, much like we did with Hanley. However, the ball over Sparrows head in behind has proved a weakness as well, so will be interesting to see what Jens prefers......
- Today
-
Just a feeling Hearts are due a wee unexpected stumble. A Killie win would be preferable, obviously.
-
You need to have arrived in the UK on an inflatable boat under cover of darkness to stay there these days, its free though.
-
That’s the other logical option, but I think he views Sparrow as more of a versatile impact sub for games like today. Plus SOD is a far better defensive RB.
-
Maybe. But I wouldn't be surprised to see Sparrow, SOD, McGinn and Longelo starting.
-
Gordon will probably start today, unfortunately, but he should be informed he’ll be tarred and feathered if he ever tries to dribble again.
-
No, I haven't gone mad. Well I might have gone mad, but that's a separate issue. MOTM will be late today, so save your thoughts about the best player in our glorious 2 - 1 victory/unlucky draw/cheating defeat until I get a chance to update.
-
All part of his management style, although he may well feel McGhee does fit into his plans.

WOW! I can see the blast furnaces chimneys around the new ground at Ravenscraig Good video Goggles.
-
I doubt if McGhee will start but would expect him to get maybe 30-45 mins if he's in JBA's plans? Certainly JBA praised him to the hilt when he recovered from injury and built up expectations.
-
My recollection was that it was Martin Peters. Martin Chivers had the potential to be one of the best centre forwards of all time, he was so talented. However, that natural instinct was coached out of him. What a night that was though. Fir Park was packed.

If McGhee starts tomorrow, that would be a huge risk. He has barely featured since his return to fitness and cant have anywhere near the minutes necessary to be thrown in from the start. It would be very "Un-Jenslike" to throw him in like that.
-
Exactly - and him being on some PR pre game makes me think he will start and SOD at right back
-
Why just a draw?
-
A win for us and a draw for Kilmarnock.
-
The Metro Newspaper in their weekly predictions has us down for a 2-1 win tomorrow funnily enough I would absolutely take this , and would love it if we beat them
-
I would have thought if he was in JBAs plans his minutes would have been built up by now. He certainly cant start. From the little Ive seen, he looked slow and ponderous. Not surprising given his injuries, but would have expected to see him feature more as he tried to regain fitness.
-
Yes, my failing mind thought either MC or Martin Peters. I think they stayed overnight at the Bruce Hotel in EK and there is a persistent story they signed wee kids' autograph books with silly names. The match itself is one of my happiest memories since 1962: gulp!

Id Jordan McGhee not due some game time?
