Five games in 14 days is a big ask of the teams fitness , with the type of game we play and the possession stats. Hopefully they have recharged the batteries and we keep the pace up against a stuffy Livingstone.
-
Its a big ask and while we wont win the league, if we were able to get a striker who can convert chances & if we hold onto the manager, i honestly see no reason we cant be in the fight for 2nd. Typing that out just had me thinking how good Biereth could be in this team with his pace, game intelligence & eye for goal.
-
With Hibs playing Falkirk and Celtic v Hearts, 3 points from the Livi game would be a great boost. Perhaps Killie can even take some points off Rangers at Rigny park.
- Today

We still had about 64% possession last night and our goalie has had 1 save in the last three games with the TEAM keeping clean sheets 3 games In a row now. So maybe shot stopping goalie not our top priority at the moment?
-
Anyone know what is actually wrong with Watt? I note he wasnt even on the bench, so suggests more than just rotation / load protection.
-
Welsh, McGinn, sparrow , longello , fadinger all had good games . Welsh for me has filled a huge gap and not put a foot wrong in last few games
-
I said before last night's game if we took 8/9 points from our next 4 games this could very well be a standout season. Still stand by that. That's 15 games gone an no team has been better than us in any game. As poor as we were last night we were the closest of the two to getting the win.
-
I can but dream 🤣
-
Grizzlyg you are generally glass half full type and I get your concerns. However if for example. Oxborough who is good at crosses we would not have the same control in games as we would have a man less at back to keep the ball. Our game is all about creating an extra man somewhere and ward like all others in team are a part of that. Also he is organising defenders in front of him and very much part of us keeping clean sheets. On game last night I like most thought the subs for us slowed us down but I would argue the point that we were more in control of game than Falkirk. Still haven came away from a game this season thinking the other team were better than us. A centre forward required in January would be my choice.
-
You know you’re setting yourself up for disappointment here Mio . Albeit your optimism has plenty of base . A couple of key signings would make a massive difference and maybe just maybe
-
Ok a wee but tongue in cheek but really? Have we seen any standout teams in the league? We’ve had the better of Hearts twice but just lacked a cutting edge on Saturday and Rangers have no identity and are woeful. Celtic have improved under ONeill but I see this Nancy guy being a Russell Martin clone. last night was our poorest performance (in the league) yet we still came away with a point from an inform side, difficult to beat, on a terrible surface. I think we’ve had continual improvement all season and I think we should be aiming higher than just finishing top 6.

I agree his distribution has been better since his clanger at parkhead. I am old fashioned and want my goalie saving shots and collecting crosses. Defence in front of him definitely helped last few weeks
-
Lots of really good points here . Slattery not been playing well, he may benefit from being on the bench for a couple of weeks. We have enough depth to replace and personally I like RCC he gives more width and supports longello nicely . Welsh for me is captain material and if we can we should spend a few quid and bring him perm . upfront is an issue , AP and Hendry are not great as lone strikers . If we can get Sule back and fit he looked to have strength to be they player but we need something diferent and can see Stupavic or Robinson solving either
-
Good point not a lot of teams shall keep a clean sheet and take something away against Falkirk this season. Slatterys mind looks elsewhere at the minute he has been so off the boil last couple of games been so so poor.Slows down the play alot and his passing recently has been shocking all over the place. I do think in January we need something different up front in the middle still lacking that difference between a point and three points kinda player that can nick a chance. I hope we can hold onto Welsh if not have a near enough exact replacement he has been top drawer compliments McGinn perfectly. Anyway onwards to Livi and a few more layers of clothing it was Baltic last night lol.
-
For Livi I'd have a few more of our physical players start, although Hendry was poor last night I'd start him but also have RCC, Said, Sparrow all start as they add strength v's others can get pushed around. Like others have mentioned Watt being back will make a huge difference - we missed him last night.
-
I didn’t hear him say that. Maybe I missed it or just took something different from what he said than you did.
-
Should be confident of winning this but we have to put in the effort. Livi maybe bottom but still not a pushover. Hopefully Watt is back for at least part of the game. As someone suggested playing RCC from the start instead of Hendry/AP might be worth a try. Slats needs to up his performance level a bit and not lapse into his old. Falling over habit and getting caught on the ball. if we can get an early goal then perhaps we can a few more.
-
Only if Martindale manages to roll out a plastic pitch at Fir Park and dry out the half we're playing in to. I fancy our chances against Falkirk at Fir Park next time too.
-
John McGlynn appears to have us sussed out, will Martindale learn from his tactics? Hopefully Watt not out for too long.
-
Last 3 games he was protected very well by his defence . Im sure he will still make mistakes when under real pressure . But his passing outfield and distribution have been excellent starting off a few good moves. Confident with passing and the ball at his feet in the box. Cant expect him to have everything or he wouldn’t be playing with us.
