  1. Talk about stating the bloody obvious ! Although unlike the totally negative ninnie that you obviously are I will state that the 3 sides winning is best for us. Ross County, Dundee U and St Mirren have had decent starts to the season. Any of them getting a further 3 points ahead of us is worse than the 3 sides that are winning. Even after we lose to Celtic tomorrow we will still only be 2 wins away from matching Ross County on 8 points. I fully expect Hibs and Aberdeen to finish top 4 but even as shite as our league season has been so far 5th gets a Euro place and a long way to go yet.

  2. Murphy is one of the easiest players to defend against, he always wants to cut inside, so show him down the line and he is less effective, any decent defenders have him sussed. He has hardly kicked a ball in 2 years and the last thing we need is another winger, so all the best to him at Hibs but he was not for us.

  3. They've got two polite young gentlemen at the back who would rather not get their kit dirty. Ajer and Juluen are so easily rattled with a bit of physicality so we need to capitalise on that.

  4. Thats why you sign on for Motherwell ......to confirm the positions you cant naturally play in. Does wonders in your future cv. Cant play..........

  5. He might perform better when actually played on the left. So why not put O’Donnell to right and Hastie on left with Grimmy on bench

  6. I'm astounded at the number of people suggesting Hastie should be anywhere near the team...

  7. Imagine caring what the league table looks like after 6 fuckin games.

  8. Yep, you can argue if we are bottom we deserve to be there ( Statistical fact), but we should most definitely have gained more points. There are things that can be improved on but it’s still been small margins between gaining and not gaining points, it’s not as though we are getting thrashed and outplayed in games. It’s very easy given the start we’ve had to start to start panicking and call for an upheaval but for me that’s something that needs to be looked at another half a dozen games down the line. For now it should be stay calm, get past the Celtic game with something if we can and then look for that first win. I’m still confident that Robinson will turn it around if he’s given time.

  9. His last match for us was at Rugby Park against Kilmarnock when we stole the points with an early Tommy Coyne goal and then got pummelled but somehow survived. Remember the away fans singing 'Please Don't Go'. The Dortmund game was a couple of weeks later. [EDIT - Just checked it out, Kilmarnock was his last league match, he played in the midweek match against Airdrie in the League Cup which was his final appearance, 31st Aug 1994. Dortmund match was 13th Sep]

  10. I was impressed with the work rate and organisation of Dundee United and Killie defending against Celtic. Hopefully our players can show the same effort and frustrate them for a while. Grimshaw cannot start after that horror show on Thursday. Get O'Donnell back onto the right and play 4-2-3-1 with Cornelius wide right to give us a bit more solidity. Basically one attacking winger in Lang and one who will support the midfield 3. I'd give Watt and Long 45 minutes each and tell them to empty their tank.

  11. We’ll never know. It’s a blackout. We could put 10 men across the goal line and Campbell buzzing about the box nipping at anyone who comes close.

  12. That was my first visit to the Piggery. I must be getting old as as I could have sworn we were in the upper tier of the new stand as it felt so high up, but from the highlights we were only in the bottom tier. Amazing away support as always back then

  13. I am absolutely going to get carried away with the result. It's only a few days from Saturday's discussion where t was suggested nobody looks back and is interested in the performance or whether fortune has smiled or mocked you and that it's only the result that counts, only the goals that are scored, that's what goes down in the record books etc. etc..

  14. Just to add to the "use wires" advice. My Chromebook - and probably lots of stripped down machines - doesn't have a hole for it. I bought an RJ45 to USB adapter and it works well. Price is under a fiver online. Probably a bit more for a USB-C model. I haven't tried our streaming, but it is generally a lot better than my crap wifi.

  15. I have no great sympathy for Celtic tonight, but the format of the Champions League where actual national champions have to play in qualifying rounds while teams that finish 4th can come in at a later round is just corrupt.
