    Injuries

Is Kennedy still injured? Or has he been released he seems to have disappeared without trace.
  2. I thought it was the change of shape, that was made after losing the 2nd goal that we didn't adapt to quickly enough. On the whole I thought we were the better team and with a mixture of better luck, better finishing and better refereeing could have won the game convincingly.
  3. I'm not convinced any of the names mentioned are better managers than McGhee but I'm not saying that we should have stuck with him either.
  4. I don't think he's under contract at Raith, I believe he was brought in purely to the end of the season on a freelance role to steady the ship after Gary Locke. Not that he's steadied that ship much, they got hammered by Dumbarton on Saturday.
  5. My worry is if we use Heneghan, McHugh, or Jules while carrying injuries do we risk exacerbating the problem and ruling them out for a longer period, also I view next week at home to St Johnstone as a far more winnable game than tomorrow so in that case wouldn't it be better to not take any chances on our injured players.
  6. Mixu has sold his house in Scotland and is hoping on an English Championship job. Personally I think he maybe waiting for a while.
  7. I beg to differ, I would rate John Gardiner as the worst, followed by Samson then Twardzik.

    Mcghee Out?

You would think he would be better at Under 20's game watching what other options he has available rather than a PR stunt to try and win back some support.
  9. 2-1 Motherwell for no other reason than it is usually when I least expect it we get a result.

    Mcghee Out?

Good post and I agree with it all, I'm not saying the other night was acceptable but I still think McGhee is doing a decent job. A lot has been made of the 2 wins in 12 games but if you look at these games individually it changes. Against Accies we are all over them looking only a matter of time to we make the breakthrough, then Lucas has a rush of blood to the head gets sent off and the game changes. We gain a valuable point in the end and McGhee gets a lot of praise in the way he managed the substitutions and kept us competitive with only 10 men. Rangers in the cup we nearly came away with a good result in the end he was let down inexplicably by one of his most experienced players. Rangers in the cup, we started better team when they were reduced to 10 men we dominated, thenour most influential player is softly sent off and game changed. We could argue that he then becomes too defensive in his tactics but also he is probably aware defensively we are weak but we do have a couple of players that maybe able to fashion goals from very little so I can understand the idea of sitting back being hard to break down and hoping on a counter. Unfortunately I don't think we have the players to do that. It's crucial we manage to go to Parkhead and not concede any more than 3 or 4. After that a win against Dundee is important. If you remember at this stage last season we went to Tyncastle and got humped we then lost midweek to Partick to slip into bottom 2 and it was looking ominous, yet there was no panicking, and in a much more critical position and we eventually found form and we made it into top 6 in what was a successful season. With a full squad we are a better team than Accies, Inverness, Kilmarnock, Ross County and Dundee win the games against them and hopefully mid-table obscurity beckons again. At the end of the season MM will probably move on not because of failure but more because he will never win over large sections of our support and a parting of the ways is possibly the best scenario. Hopefully we don't live to regret it ala St Mirren.
  11. I feel that this season has been the most stop start that I can remember. I know it wasn't helped by an away tie in the cup and then going out of it. This I think can have a negative influence on attendances as if the habits broken of attending more and more people can either find something else to fill the Saturday afternoon void or realise that hard end money can be saved. I know that some (like myself )are desperate to watch the games however the breaks aren't helping.

    Mcghee Out?

I think he sees Bowman more as a replacement for Moult. What I've seen of Bowman he doesn't look like he could do the linking job that McDonald.
  13. I agree completely McDonalds challenge wasn't good but it was a yellow card no more. Miller made the most of it, coupled with the reaction of their bench obviously influenced Collum, although as an experienced ref he should have been strong enough to adhere to the rules. If we are to accept that as a red card then football is finished.
  14. I thought we started the game very well, we were pushing Rangers back, our only weakness I thought was on the left side with Chalmers delivery being very poor when the ball broke to him a few times early on. The 1st red card was deserved an extremely reckless challenge. After that we a had a long spell of domination but in failing to take the chances we created I knew that again we were going to regret it as it was only a matter of time until Collum levelled up the game. Unfortunately when he did it was our most creative/ influential player that we lost. McDonalds challenge wasn't great but normally that would have been a yellow but I can understand why a red was given but for me the two footed tackle 5 mins earlier by their Centre Half was much worse and surely an appeal can be made based on inconsistencies of decisions in the same game. As soon as McDonald went off we were up against it and making it through to half time level was then a decent outcome. I understand why McMillan was brought on for Chalmers as we were on top and it was a like for like change, both being defensively minded wide players. However similarly to the Accies game McMillan struggled and in having to check back onto his right foot we lost forward motion time after time. As the game wore on I felt we really should have taken him off but that would probably have shattered his confidence and done longer term damage. Rangers aren't a great team but are better man for man than we are, they should be miles ahead of us in terms of financial outlay on their team but I would say over the last two games they are only marginally better than us. With a bit of luck, and stronger refereeing we could easily have got a result against them. Those calling for Mcghee's head need in my opinion to take a reality check a good season will be survival. We need supporters to support the club not constantly criticise, if McGhee keeps us up he's done well.
  15. SKY Sports is a huge marketing platform for English Football, before SKY the English game was dying on it's feet, with claims the leagues were too large with too many meaningless games. Now with the slick presentation and constant adverts building up another "Super Sunday" the same meaningless games are now made out to be fantastic entertainment. I actually think SKY do the Scottish game a huge disservice, the coverage given by BT is far better especially to non Old Firm games. If it was my choice in negotiating a new TV deal, I would favour a deal with BT over SKY any day.
  16. It's possible that some teams will decide to have no youth academies or teams, and just feed off of the drop outs from the Elite Academies and lower English Leagues.
  17. I went to the Dunfermline v St Mirren game, Higginbotham played well and had a few diagonal passes that opened St Mirren up completely. St Mirren were very poor Sutton actually looks slower and got no support. If Clarkson can't get into that team he must have gone badly downhill.
  18. To be fair looked a very soft red card which has also spoiled the game we were miles ahead of Accies before sending off, and the referee is awful.
  19. Lucas against Ross County looked like he could be an asset, against Aberdeen he struggled looked very lightweight and either passed sideways or backwards. Maybe harsh to judge on a couple of games but added to his injury problems, then in my opinion Lucas hasn't been a good signing.
  20. [quote name="Kmcalpin" post="483939" timestamp="1482833506 I know Inverness are having a hard time just now (hopefully even harder after tomorrow), but in recent years they have built up a reputation for successfully bringing in just this kind of player from English non league clubs. So, it can be done on a limited budget. For every player that Inverness have brought in that's broken into their side and achieved I'm sure they have brought in some rubbish as well. Our summer recruitment wasn't that bad, Tait, Heneghan, Clay in my opinion have been successful signings. Not yet sure about Bowman, if Moult moves on then I think we would see more from him. Blyth and Lucas so far haven't worked out. McHugh has got better with every game he's missed, when he returns he's going to be better than Pirlo. My point being we all sign players from the same level of England hoping to turn up a nugget or two, but all teams will sign the odd flop also.
  21. I don't think there was that much difference between the two teams in the first half, 2nd half without Lasley we were over run. I agree that confidence is lacking but we also need to strengthen in midfield. Lucas didn't convince me last night, was too lightweight and passed the ball sideways and backwards offered very little going forward. Clay did his usual and tired after an hour. I don't give in to the criticism of Thomas to me he looked short of confidence too often he would turn back instead of trying to beat his man. Ainsworth on the other hand looks uninterested and goes through the motions.
  22. Possibly Moult up by himself with Cadden on right and McDonald on left.
  23. Clay became the holding player when Lucas came on and that probably tied in with him becoming more anonymous. Although I do agree he does seem to disappear later on in games.
  24. Moult was definitely offside, I was sitting right in line. A draw was a good result regardless of the performance. St Johnstone are an experienced side they are well versed in the cynical art of niggly fouls to break up the flow of an opposition attack, which they did time and again on Saturday.
  25. McManus for his marshalling of the defence, when they were in danger of being over-run, and willingness to block and fling himself into the tackle.
