  1. Gomis is a good signing, defensive midfielder with premier league experience. Is he cup-tied?
  2. Yes, I thought Pearo was man of the match for us on Saturday.
  3. Stephen Pearson for me, thought McManus and Cadden had good games too. Law being back at right back provided more balance to the team as well.
  4. The last few days has been a bit of a cull. We are either expecting Faddy to stay or we are bringing in another forward.
  5. McCall left all goalkeeping decisions to Gordon Marshall apparently so he has to shoulder the blame for that one.
  6. They were on Saturday as it was Cadden who let Irvine run free at the back post.
  7. I think the defensive pairing of McManus and Hall is the strongest we have had in a number of seasons. As others have said the problem is lack of protection in front of them and the fullback areas.
  8. Do people genuinely think Bournemouth are interested????
  9. It ended with an on target shot from Johnson being blocked.
  10. The first goal was crucial on Saturday( and I'm convinced it wasn't in) their confidence grew whilst some of our players seem to go into a shell and didn't want the ball to build anything from the back. Even at 3-0 if we had taken one of the chances we had I thought we could've got something out of the game, but their 4th just sucked the remaining hope out and we seemed to lose all shape.
  11. I think Laing would have been a better option yesterday at least would have given the defence some cover. But I think next week start with Ainsworth on the right but playing as the out ball role and have Johnson tucking in on the left as he offers slightly more physicality than Ainsworth.
  12. I think Law has done well enough at right back this year not to be punted, but please never again at centre midfield. Reid will hopefully go along with Twardzik, and Robinson if we can find someone willing to pay even a part of their wages before the end of the season. I think that we will have to wait to the summer to see what happens with Chalmers, Watt, Leitch, Kennedy and a few others.
  13. Possibly I thought the linesman just flagged for a goal kick.
  14. The Arse fell out our game so quickly yesterday there wasn't a lot of time between them scoring the first and the game being over at 3-0. The only reason I think if Mcghee didn't make changes was, had he taken Chalmers off, it would have highlighted how poor he was and wrecked whatever confidence he has. Unfortunately we may have to rely on him at some time in the future if Hammell gets injured.
  15. I didn't think at the game the first goal was over the line but thought the lack of protest by our players showed that it must be a goal. Having watched it back now I'm convinced it wasn't in.
  16. By the the order of elimination I was left with Pearson, nearly went for McDonald but his miss at 3-0 maybe wouldn't have altered the outcome but at least would have given us something out of the game.
  17. Dare I even say Craig Reid at right back would have been a better option than Chalmers today.
  18. Watching warm up. Looks like Hammell at right back Chalmers is at left back.
  19. Possibly move Chalmers to right back and Law into midfield
  20. Exactly, the result that day didn't mirror the performances of the two teams. A soft re-taken penalty, and a wicked deflected goal gave them a comfortable half time league before Vigurs scored with a wonder strike. I left the game that day not too down beat as I felt we had matched ICT for most of the game. I'm not saying it will be easy but it's a tie we have every chance of winning.
  21. Any word on what's happening with Grimshaw has he returned to Man U as his loan was up on Monday.
  22. I was just about to say the same thing, it would have been impossible for Lasley to turn and attempt to close down the Accies player without his arm being in that or a very similar position, therefore that is a natural position. It is also similar to the penalty conceded against Inverness when McManus was adjudged to have handled while being nudged and not facing the ball his arm then couldn't really have been anywhere else. To me it highlights that so many of the referees have not played football at a sufficient level to basically understand the game. It is possible to learn the rules from seminars and rule books but have no real understanding of playing football.
  23. When is Grimshaws loan due to end, I know it's January but is it start or end of the month?
  24. I would have loved to see the standard of players we had playing back then, playing today on the surfaces we have now.
