  1. Sorry I have to assume you were pissed and if so that's the best reason yet for not allowing alcohol back into football stadia . He was anonymous to the extent I had to look to make sure he was still on the park. What little time he had with the ball didn't prove he had anymore or a better technical abililty than most on the park - Straker excluded. These players had to hit the ground running because of the predicament we find ourselves in - can't say any of them have, nor do they look to have improved on what we already have. Worrying times indeed.
  2. On the basis of what? Certainly can't have been on yesterday's performance he along with the rest was woeful.
  3. Think I know what's gone wrong, it's those fucking 'elastic bands' - some of them forgot to take them off.
  4. No way did we fuck up Slane's development - he did that all by himself.
  5. Might be but will need to carry out some research on that one - didn't he take over around December time the previous season and I think he only lasted a few games into that run you quoted, before he jumped ship (according to the official site he only lasted 3 games into that season). Mind not playing that many tricks - he took over in December 1977 and what I think I remember was the run of results from late December. Motherwell 2 - 0 Partick Thistle Celtic 0 - 1 Motherwell Motherwell 1 - 0 St Mirren Motherwell 3 - 0 Ayr United Arbroath 0 - 4 Motherwell (and the after match shenannigans ) Motherwell 0 - 0 Aberdeen Motherwell 3 - 5 Rangers (2-0 up and cruising and the bastards invaded the park) Motherwell 1 - 3 Queens Park. So in reality the 'wheels came aff the bogey' in the Rangers game.
  6. If I remember correctly his first 6 or 7 games the team started like world beaters - then came Queens Park (I think) and the wheels came aff the bogey.
  7. Agree to an extent, but we were out of the top-flight for a good part of that era and the teams during that barren spell were mince, both ours and opposition.
  8. Pick any team of the Ally McLeod era for starters.
  9. On the basis of what happened in a cinema in Glasgow at the weekend - I don't think that's one you would want to use as an argument for a return of alcohol to football grounds - "Three women arrested after man is GLASSED during Fifty Shades of Grey screening on Valentine's Day" - http://www.dailyreco...ter-man-5169837
  10. I thought it had been posted previously that's exactly who it was (the ex-Rangers one that is)
  11. LOL My god were none of you around in the Kampmann era
  12. Not as I recall - and it was a process used by many clubs - another that comes to mind was Bobby Russell (Shettleston Juniors) - though obviously long before he arrived here.
  13. LOL - yeah he is a bit scrawny, but playing with the big boy's won't do him any harm. That's what clubs used to do when they 'farmed' promising players out to the Juniors (Dougie and Andy Walker spring to mind - Kenny Dalglish at Cumbernauld was another).
  14. Big hopes for the boy, and now it looks like he won't be rushed and the newbies better be good
  15. Love these little snippets - keep them coming all the best
  16. .......................... and he was shite (at least if you listen to some of the zoomers on here anyway )
  17. Smashing piece - all the very best Andrew in everything you do.
  18. Be happy with any formation that's missing O'Brien
  19. Don't think so Bezzer - but WTF is STEVEN Carswell
