  1. Think there's confusion here between The Cobra and McGlinchey (who's contract may have expired before the World Cup).
  2. Now that I don't remember lol
  3. It was built AFAIR by MFC as a gym/fitness facility, for use both by the club and the general public. At one time there was even talk of building a walkover, between it and the ground. From what I gathered at the time - they did sell it, but it was a forced sale - FPC were removed from their bar/lounges under the main stand and forced to buy and move or fold (it was at this point that link between FPC and the club was severed - it had of course originally been set-up to generate funds for MFC - any year end profits being gifted to the club). Basically it became a millstone round the club's neck and they had to move it on and the FPC were clearly seen as the ideal candidates, though I don't think by the FPC committee at the time.
  4. What are the rumours about what's happening to it - not really interested in the 'who' part. Don't tell half a story Busta
  5. The Club built and already owned the 'white elephant' - why take it on again, when in the current climate of pubs shutting its likely to be a concern that's only likely to ever provide any sustainable income every 2nd Saturday (or whatever day the TV companies deem the games to go ahead).
  6. LOL says he with the address 'Southern Thailand'
  7. Nah you aren't old enough to remember Dixie Deans
  8. He did that weeyin - and he was fast particularly over the initial 10 yard burst. But he certainly didn't leave Laurie Cunningham and Cyril Regis in his wake - sprint pre Joe Wark Testimonial - they were like shit off a shovel.
  9. The best ever and for those who saw them - it can only be Graham & Pettigrew, though I must admit Coyne and Dougie run them close.
  10. He He me too and it didn't do him any harm.
  11. And if some would have you believe - in their own dressing room. Hard enough when its just the opposition, a bit more difficult if its fifth-column.
  12. With half a dozen games left on them - I think not.
  13. Ha Ha - that hardly narrows it down.
  14. Sorry I have to assume you were pissed and if so that's the best reason yet for not allowing alcohol back into football stadia . He was anonymous to the extent I had to look to make sure he was still on the park. What little time he had with the ball didn't prove he had anymore or a better technical abililty than most on the park - Straker excluded. These players had to hit the ground running because of the predicament we find ourselves in - can't say any of them have, nor do they look to have improved on what we already have. Worrying times indeed.
  15. On the basis of what? Certainly can't have been on yesterday's performance he along with the rest was woeful.
  16. Think I know what's gone wrong, it's those fucking 'elastic bands' - some of them forgot to take them off.
  17. No way did we fuck up Slane's development - he did that all by himself.
  18. Might be but will need to carry out some research on that one - didn't he take over around December time the previous season and I think he only lasted a few games into that run you quoted, before he jumped ship (according to the official site he only lasted 3 games into that season). Mind not playing that many tricks - he took over in December 1977 and what I think I remember was the run of results from late December. Motherwell 2 - 0 Partick Thistle Celtic 0 - 1 Motherwell Motherwell 1 - 0 St Mirren Motherwell 3 - 0 Ayr United Arbroath 0 - 4 Motherwell (and the after match shenannigans ) Motherwell 0 - 0 Aberdeen Motherwell 3 - 5 Rangers (2-0 up and cruising and the bastards invaded the park) Motherwell 1 - 3 Queens Park. So in reality the 'wheels came aff the bogey' in the Rangers game.
  19. If I remember correctly his first 6 or 7 games the team started like world beaters - then came Queens Park (I think) and the wheels came aff the bogey.
  20. Agree to an extent, but we were out of the top-flight for a good part of that era and the teams during that barren spell were mince, both ours and opposition.
  21. Pick any team of the Ally McLeod era for starters.
  22. On the basis of what happened in a cinema in Glasgow at the weekend - I don't think that's one you would want to use as an argument for a return of alcohol to football grounds - "Three women arrested after man is GLASSED during Fifty Shades of Grey screening on Valentine's Day" - http://www.dailyreco...ter-man-5169837
