Fair enough, he wasn't on for long but he looked a bit lost to me, but obviously others saw different. I'd have been less inclined to give him a debut in a game where we're liable to face a bit of pressure in a vital game against our closest competitor. if the boy has a decent game (I do expect him to be bolder than SOD going forward) i'll be first to come on here and admit that I talk pish 🙂 Hopefully it won't be Cryin' Time (Right, thats the last Sydney Devine reference of the night).

I've seen a few people say they thought Devine was good on Friday but I certainly didn't see it. Might be willing to go forward faster than SOD but don't fancy him defensively. We'll see. Be more than happy if I'm wrong 🙂 Maybe Devine will be the 'answer to everything'. (There's a wee gag for those of a certain age 🙂 )

Are all the other teams around us who can hardly buy a point, like Ross Co and St J getting special permission to play teams from a different league in the run up to the split or are they playing the same teams as us ? Are St J and Ross Co more likely to take points off Hearts, Rangers and Celtic (or even Aberdeen and Hibs) than we are ?

Maybe he's still hiding behind the post. He's been subbed off. The KVV that left us for Groningen is not the same KVV that signed for Killie. If we'd signed this overweight, unfit, anonymous KVV, you'd have been shouting that the board and the manager are incompetent for wasting money on a guy who won't be fit for half the remaining campaign.

Maybe you should look up how these 'leagues' work then. Put simply, you all play games against one another and a system of points is used to determine where you sit in the pecking order. If the performance of 'other sides' in this syetem is something you don't care about, I think you're missing the point. We're not Celtic or Rangers so the best you can ever hope for is to be better than some of these other teams that you don't care about. Some years you'll be better than most of them, some seasons you wont. We're currently sitting above four of them and a point behind another two. Thats the only statisitics that count in league football.

Our form over the last nine games in the league is better than 7 or 8 of the 12 teams in the league. Are you suggesting all their managers are clueless and need sacked too ?

I've been a big supporter of Kettlewell in general but trying to hoofball your way through a side that were there to battle is just a pathetic approach. Their midfield was everywhere and ours was static. They did their homework and executed it well. We played right into their hands. Pathetic performance.

It's going to be howling there tonight. This might bring them down to our level, eh MJC ? 🙂 This would normally be a 'home' game for me, living on the Isle Of Bute, but the switch to Friday night has fucked it for me, cause I'm working. Cup ties should be Saturday at 3.00 PM or Wednesday nights at a push (like the good old days). As other's have said, there's a contraflow a bit before the ground (down to one lane in each direction) which can clog at busy periods, so be prepared. It won't matter on the way home 'cause you'll be waxing lyrical about our 6th goal.....
