unless he can be in two places at once he's not been down watching english games whilst alloa have been playing on saturdays or playing/training on midweek nights. it would be odd if as well as running alloa, scouting their opposition and keeping an eye on potential signings he has also been keeping close tabs on leagues which have no relevance to his current job. it would also be odd if agents were in regular contact with him considering that he has no money to sign full time players.

he has had no reason professionally to study it. alloa are almost exclusively part time scottish players with a few young scottish loans thrown in. considering the amount of effort that is put into managing a part time club i have my doubts whether he was spending much time identifying players he is never going to sign or line up against.

a new manager will have to sign at least 6 players immediately and people want someone who has never managed or coached a full time professional team or been involved with signing professional players? shotts bon accord won the scottish junior cup last season, we might as well go for their manager.

did he not just get a 12 month extension at the end of last season? i know a few boys from burnside who know saunders and they seemed to think that he was on about a grand week which is a decent wage but not enough to make him a top earner.

i'm just giving my opinion. he has played a few great games, some average ones and and a few awful ones. i honestly don't think he has done enough to get clubs down south interested considering his age and injury record, what would scouts have thought on sunday? if he signs for us and repeats the form he has shown already i'll be happy enough as i said before he is still capable of being a match winner on a regular basis in this league.

he has done well and come up with some game changing moments but he hasn't been a stand out the way leigh griffiths has in a very poor league and he clearly has some fitness issues. celtic won't be interested, no epl sides will be sides will interested and i don't think any championship sides will be making him a priority. if he signs and is ready to go for preseason training ideal. but if he wants to keep his options open should we set aside a decent size chunk of our small budget aside and go into europe and the start of the season short handed? i can't believe anyone would think that is a good idea.

i don't think faddy has done enough with us over the past few months to have many clubs chasing after him. he definitely wasn't playing for a move yesterday. it'll be down to whether he is willing to commit to us now or wait til the end of the window to maximise his options. if he isn't signed up by the time preseason starts we should forget about him.

does humphrey not playing mean mcfadden and law can't track runners or close down? They weren't the only two but they were the worst culprits.

there are obviously different ways of getting players and once there are on the park doing a job it doesn't matter where they came from. lasley and hammell both joined in their late teens and faddy was at hibs for a while i think. i'm just saying that for all the resources we put into coaching boys under the age of 16 it would be good to get some end product from that department. dundee united, killie, hearts, aberdeen and hibs all seem to be doing that better than us at the moment.

mchugh and carswell are the only two there who are recent products of our youth development (and mchugh made his debut 5 years ago) picking up guys released by bigger clubs like zaine, cummins and hutchy is important but compared to other spl clubs we haven't made much progress developing local kids.

i doubt money is the reason. hetherington had a great game in valencia but struggled in his only spl start and i think we all over rated devlin because he was playing first team football before he signed. it's very disappointing that watt never got a chance. the youth system seems to have dropped off a fair bit. possibly feeling the delayed effect of chris mccart leaving?

where is ramsden going to go for a two year contract? i would be very surprised if he wouldn't have taken a one year deal off us again.

if ramsden plays well enough next season to attract the attention of other clubs it will be a minor miracle. the guy is in his 30s and injury prone throughout his career - including his time with us - a one year deal with a handshake that he'll get another one if he performs should be more than enough for him. look at how we were stung giving omar a two year deal when he would have bitten our hand off for one.

he's came onto a bit of form recently but i would only have given him a one year deal. disappointed watt has been freed without ever getting a sniff of the first team.

Samson got banned from the u21s for climbing down a drainpipe to escape the squad hotel for a night out in Kilmarnock. He obviously likes the place.

lawson would be a decent signing and add some depth in the middle of the park. we'll still need some wingers though.
