A long old season ahead with even more industrial style football than last year. Little in the way of pace or an attacking threat from midfield, which to me seems extremely ill judged given our very clear deficiencies. I fear we'll be very easy to play against this season.
Finally found the details I was thinking of regarding share out % of League monies. This was agreed by all Clubs other than Celtic who insisted on receiving their full payment as guaranteed League winners. It was a one season only arrangement but it did happen and Aberdeen were party go it.
Permanent changes to share out and voting were not voted upon as Aberdeen indicated they would side with Celtic to provide the required number of “no” votes to block such changes. As you say, presumably because they were looking to finish second for a good number of years.
League position at end of Season 2012/13 % of 2012/13Net Commercial Revenues

2. 10.5% (was 15% last year)
3. 9.5% ( was 9.5% last year)
4. 9.0% (up 0.5 % on last year )
5. 8.5% (up 0.5 % on last year )
6. 8.0% (up 0.5 % on last year )
7. 7.5% (up 0.5 % on last year )
8. 7.0% (up 0.5 % on last year )
9. 6.5% (up 0.5 % on last year )
10. 6.0% (up 0.5 % on last year )
11. 5.5% (up 0.5 % on last year )
12. 5.0% (up 0.5 % on last year )
That’s my understanding anyway. Apologies if it’s bollocks.
Expect this must be a replacement for Bowman. Even checked Robinson’s previous comments about signing a striker with pace that can cover the wings to reassure myself.
Hopeful Tanner will be an important player for us this year and can fill the creative void in the team towards the end of the season.
He must be bad if he's even worse than John Sutton , who I was told, was Hearts' worst signing ever. This site is almost as negative as our Pie & Bovril thread and thats saying something. Give the guy a chance. If he wears C&A then he has my support.
As I said, I'm not overly enthusiastic about him. However, just about every goal I see Sammon scoring on youtube involves him being played in from a pass on the deck. If the the idea is to play hoofball and use him has a target man, then I doubt it will work.
Given the managers fixation on the number of crosses we get into the box it doesnt seem unreasonable to sign a player that can head the ball. Whether that brings any more goals than last season or is more entertaining remains to be seen. An underwhelming signing at first viewing. Will just need to wait and see what Robbo can get out of him.
Sammon is pish,i would be really disappointed if we ended up with him,I'd much rather we gave one of our youngsters like scott a chance too be more involved in the first team squad than sign a diddy like sammon.
If it's Bowman out Sammon in that's like for like.
If our four strikers are Main, Johnston, Bowman and Sammon don't expect much entertainment this season.
