  1. Thats pretty much it...its human nature. For long and sundry we've given our manager (and ultimately our players) the 'target' of, 'don't get relegated'. We continually tell anyone that'll listen, that we're a stepping stone, that we don't pay high wages, that our players are talking to other Clubs...with all that considered, its nae wonder that some players don't look like they give a shit when we comfortably meet our 'target', but miss out on the Top6.

  2. I think the biggest difference in the last few games is that, with the best will in the world, it's difficult for players to find that extra 1 or 2% competitive edge when there isn't much to play for. In much the same way that players elevate their game for a cup tie, the opposite happens at end of season when there isn't much left to play for.

  3. The correspdonding fixture against Accies last season was certainly entertaining, with Turnbull and Ciftci running the show.

  4. It is also worth noting how much of a basket case the EFL is. More than half the Clubs are operating on unsustainable budgets based entirely on loans/debt (much like Rangers and Dundee). Looking at the financial statistics, I would be surprised if we are not fast approaching the point of no return when it comes to the EFL in terms of a widespread collapse of the Clubs involved in it. Had the latest Sky Sports deal not been forced through, much to chagrin of the biggest sides in the Championship like Villa and Leeds, the financial collapse of some clubs would have been greatly accelerated. So many are teetering on the brink through obscene financial mismanagement and gambling on promotion that it will eventually bit them on the arse.

  5. For goodness sake what are our expectations ? Yes we have seen some dire football. Yes the Scottish Cup exit was sh***. But have we not had a pretty good second half to the season. I said it at the beginning of the year be careful what you wish for. MFC have a restricted budget and SR has shown he can work within it. When you are bringing in players from the lower leagues then some are not going to be successful . Lets not waste any more time slagging off the manager. I for one do not wish to see a change.
