  1. Woods isn't helped by the fact that he stayed in the first team for a long time, despite being a liability. I.genuinely thought that Gardner was okay until that howler in the cup and then he never played for us again. Goalkeeper is such an important position, and really a key to a successful team. Rather than concentrate on the negative, I will be positive and say that, in my time as. 'Well supporter, I've been lucky enough to see a few good ones at Fir Park. MacRae, Rennie, Dykstra, Randolph and the two we currently have would probably rank as the best I've seen here. Edit - and how could I forget Maxy! Shame on me!

  2. Spot on. In 35 years of going to FP he’s by far worst I’ve seen.....

  3. I point this out ever single game we play. Grimshaw always tries to tuck in and always, and I mean every single game, leaves their winger no matter what team with hundreds of room. They invariable always have plenty of time to receive the ball, turn and run at our defence. Dont know how many times Gallagher has had to come out and cover for Grimmy

  4. Gardiner is easily the worst keeper I have seen at Fir Park. He made many howlers long before that Hearts game. Woods was miles better.

  5. Scottish Cup Fir Park January 1976. Willie P nets our 3rd and winning goal against holders Celtic. We won 3-2 after being 0-2 at half-time.

  6. I don't remember much about that game, but I remember the extra time goal.

  7. Not just Grimshaw. It’s the exact same on the other side. Must be team orders

  9. Think he’s talking about the St Mirren end Just under 5000 in a stadium that holds over 8000 Crazy that St Mirren could not give Motherwell more tickets if they could have sold them

  10. Just about to say the same. Maybe just me but as much as I like Grimmy he is very weak defensively. Twice in the 2nd half in quick succession St Mirren put the ball across our six yard box. No takers but it was all so easy. Stop the fkin crosses or at least try to do a better job at it because it was embarrassing. A draw was probably fair. We maybe edged it but they seem to think they had a good penalty shout. As for the non free kick on Rolando. WTF. I stand to be corrected but that looked an appalling decision from the ref. Ah well 3 games in short order v St Mirren. Felt the weather was a bit of a leveller today and it is another game for Rolando and 1st appearance from Watt.

  11. The only thing that worried me today was the amount of times their wide players got the ball with our full backs nowhere near them.

  14. Decent draw but one tie at a time, older readers will remember 1987 when we had hearts home in quarter final replay with winners playing st Mirren in semi....fir park jumping with about 15,000 there......sadly we had John Gardiner in goal and lost in extra time......ahhhh painful memories
