  2. There are two NHL teams in Ontario which has a population of 15 million. Metro Toronto has a population of over 6 million. The Maple Leafs get average crowds of 20,000. It's a stupid comparison.

  3. A nice article on the BBC web page about Motherwells South American adventures in the late 1920's where we were described as " one of the best teams in the world" https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53403363

  4. And that's why the domestic streaming option won't work as the ugly sisters will be the only ones likely to make money from ditching Sky and broadcasting their own games. And Sky don't want to lose them.

  5. Sky are only interested in the ugly sisters games and only show other games because they have to as part of the deal. I am sure they would love to only negotiate with those 2, to save all the pretend interest in the other clubs.

  6. Would be interesting to see some actual formal analysis on it all rather than some (oddly) angry sounding message board posts from some on here. I'm in the camp that it wouldn't change my match going behaviour if all games were streamed. I'd still get my season ticket and go to the games and I'd still go to the away games I usually go to. I like going to the live games and that wont change. I tend to miss a couple of home games due to being away in holiday and stuff like that and have 'sourced' ways to watch the games live. I'd happily pay to do that legally. My away game attendance has declined a lot over the last 10 years or so for a number reasons. But if I could legally buy a pay per view away match for the ones I generally dont go to...I probably would too.

  7. I really enjoy working with mixed media. This is a painting of Motherwell legend Joe Wark I did in 2015. It was initially created in water soluble pastels. However, it has been worked on digitally as well. The final result is a part ‘analogue’ part digital painting. Joe was my football hero as a kid and I was lucky enough to meet him on a few occasions. The signature I used on the drawing was scanned from a card Joe signed for me back in the 1970s. Joe sadly passed away at the age of 67 following a battle with dementia Joe made 539 appearances for Motherwell from 1968 to 1984, under seven different bosses, and dedicated his footballing career to the Fir Park side. After his retirement he became an ambassador for the club. My mixed media painting has lay dormant on my hard drive for nearly 5 years. The plan was to print a small run on fine art paper with all the proceeds going to the Remember Well dementia charity. However, after several failed attempts to get in contact with them I’ve put the project on hold. I think I’ll have another attempt at contacting them as I quite like the painting.
