  1. Some OF levels of delusion on display here. It was a red card all day every day.

  2. No sign of Victor Nirennold. Is he flat sharing with Eddie Nolan?

  3. The red card is only taking away the focus on GA terrible team selection and tactics .We will be in deep shite if we don’t win on Saturday

  4. Aberdeen vs Hibs, Ross County away to Celtic, Livi away at Tynecastle, and St Mirren & Dundee Utd playing each other. An extremely favourable set of fixtures that could see us easily in 4th place by the end of the day. Kelly S'OD Sondre Lamie McGinley (abysmal in the first half vs Hibs but much improved 2nd half) Cornelius Donnelly CALLUM FUCKING SLATTERY Woolery KVV Roberts Harsh on Efford but Roberts was excellent on Sunday and Woolery has to start for me. That's not a bad team, unfortunately Alexander will pick nothing close to our strongest XI, Slattery will continue to pick splinters out his arse and we'll get a draw at best.

  5. Anyone thinking VAR is going to be the epiphany of Scottish football should only need to watch Match Of The Day or Sky Sports to see the arguments and discussions who still can't agree what's what, even with the VAR stills on screen. At the end of the day, the final decision still lies with the same incompetent referee to make the call, only assisted by some slow-mo and stills. I doubt very much VAR would have made the slightest bit of difference in Collum's mind yesterday afternoon, in the first incident, not knowing a second was so close in occurring.

  6. The Dunne red card is a case in point. Earlier in the game, he forearm smashed a Livi player - a clear sending off and Collum missed it. Somebody obviously has a word in his ear and he just waited for the next chance to get Dunne. He was so keen, he made an arse of that anaw. Nobody really believed Macey would walk for elbowing Lamie, but you know exactly what would've happened if the roles had been reversed. And with Roberts, even Collum must've thought twice about dismissing two players from the same team in the first 6 minutes. VAR will sort out offsides, cos they just draw their lines and that's that, but for red cards, penalties, hand balls etc, it'll still come down to a human making a decision. How many ludicrous rulings have we seen in the English Premiership?

  7. It’s a nailed on red for me, other way round the East stand would have been demanding it. He made contact with the player, you just can’t go flying in like that, make contact, and expect to get away with it.

  8. Sorry mate you can't guarantee anything. I know you probably weren't around in the early 90's when we were challenging for the title and our average attendance barely rose beyond 7K. I appreciate that is a significant increase compared to today's average, but we had a larger latent support at that time too. We couldn't even sell-out a Champions League game recently. We just don't have the support, or interest I think you think we have - success or not. I used to watch in awe, when Aberdeen used to make cup finals and challenge - and win league titles - and used to tell my dad, how big a support we would have if we had similar success. His comment "you're aff your heid" - sadly he was right. The only way I think what your suggesting would happen would be with a healthy sustained period of success/challenges and that ain't gonna happen, with or without the "Old Firm".

  9. I'm 100% against VAR, If the ref didn't send him off they would have reviewed that and sent him off.

  10. Apologies, my error. Maybe an Admin can correct it?

  11. FWIW, as much as I think it shouldn't have been a red card, there's no chance VAR would have overruled it. We do still very much need VAR in this country though.

  14. Nearly a day for that and you’ve typed wummin deliberately? That’s beyond the pale. If I’d had you on ignore there would’ve been very few posts on this thread yesterday afternoon. Things ain’t great, I’m far from the happy clapper type, but, at least be a little constructive in your negativity and offer something to the debate.

  15. Couldnt make the game yesterday so had to make do with watching online. Re the red card. I personally didnt think it merited one, particualy so early in the game. But as others have said, we all know what Collum is like, so it wasnt a clever tackle from Bevis for that reason alone. That fact that none of us can agree whether it was or wasnt, and that there was such a wide range of opinion from former players, even of the ex Hibs variety, shows there was at least some dubiety over it. I agree with all of those who said VAR would have made no diffence in this case for those reasons alone. Formation wise, I really couldnt fathom the team selection and, because of the red card, we will never know wither it was a stroke of genius from GA or just another brainfart out of what has now become amusingly known as "the tombola". Cant fault the players for effort though. Every one (bar maybe KVV and Ojala) put in an absolute shift and the Mount of ground that Donnelly and Cornelius covered in particular, was very impressive. I thought Ojala was at fault for both the goals, although McGinley should have stopped the ball coming in for the first. The big fella just doesnt look to have fully recovered his fitness and he was holding his thigh again and moving uncomfortably before half time when he was hooked. Starting to think he is gonna be another perpetually injure played much like Charles Dunne. We played very well 2nd half, albeit Hibs sat off us a bit to protect what they had and but for some better finishing (Roberts first half) and better decision making (Woolery 2nd half) I think we could have snatched a draw and taken it to extra time. However, we didnt, and its gone, so we need to move on quickly and concentrate on getting into that top 6. Lets leave the recriminations until seasons end and deal with the fallout then.

  17. Problem is decisions are not made looking at a tackle in slow motion, looking back in slo mo is actually pointless.

  18. I thought the players put in an excellent display today. It is very harsh to criticise Mugabi. It is a split second decision, fired up with adrenalin in the first moments of the game. No malice, no intent to injure. It was fractions away from being a great tackle that could have set the tone of the game in a very different manner. He got it wrong ultimately and paid a very heavy price. The talk about sacking the manager is absolutely crazy. The defeatist attitude is staggering at times. All the talk is about us finishing 10th and yet we could equally finish 4th. I saw nothing in Hibs today to suggest thatthey are any better than us. Hopefully the pain of today galvinises the team to produce a strong end to the season.

  19. I'm no GA fan, but having won 5 in 30, there's no way St. Johnstone are picking up 4 wins from 8 games left, with us not picking up a single point.

  20. Over the whole season Mugabi has been one of our better players. The fact that Mugabi is even playing at right back tells you how O'Donnell has performed.

  21. Am I alone in thinking this was an outcome of the manager's making? Both Mugabi and McGinley haven't played for weeks and yet both start. Now poor as O'Donnell has been this season, he is a more natural right back than Bevis ever will be. We set up with four central defenders and someone who couldn't defend at a Primary 5 kick about. See a back 5, Donnelly and Cornelius having to cover the whole middle of the park and 3 up front? Doomed from the start. To blame Collum is the easy answer. We all know he's an absolute imposter of a ref but I think we all know, the answer lies closer to home. We are a team going nowhere with GA at the helm.
