  1. One thing from yesterday I found bizarre was fact Turnbull got booed by a fair few. A lad who is big well fan, signed new contract so we could get £3,000,000 in a transfer fee and no doubt getting at least 10 times more in his salary. Though I can see him looking to move if he continues to be on bench

  2. Apparently they managed to open a gate to let people in without tickets . Ban them completely .

  3. He's scored twice as many goals as Bair, in fewer games and without getting a real proper run of games. He's also scored over 50 goals in his career, so he at least knows where the net is. Again, I've heard it said constantly that Bair is being played because there are no other options, he's fourth choice and so on. But he isn't, is he? He wouldn't be playing ahead of Wilkinson or Shaw if he is. Like them or not, they have proven that they know how to score goals. If our plan is to have a striker who doesn't score goals, and who isn't expected to score goals, but instead lump the goal responsibilities onto Slattery and Spittal, I think we're going to run into problems eventually. We need to choose between playing two up front, one of which I assume will be our fourth choice project and someone else who can score goals, or playing a lone striker. Who that lone striker should be? Who knows.

  5. Give them the minimum allowed , I'd happily take the extra cost on to the price of my season ticket if it keeps the scum away. The green brigade are untouchable in this country and are allowed free rein to do as they please.

  6. I felt for him a bit in that respect. He must be keen to get away from Parched asap, if he was playing regularly he'd be in the Scotland first team. Be nice to see him move down South for a period and then comeback to us when he hits his early 30s.

  8. I'm confident of a victory in this one. I actually think that it will be quite comfortable. I'll go for 2-0 to the Well.

  9. Livingston have only lost to Old Firm this season and have 4 draws out of 7 in the league this term. I think that kind of sums them up. I'm an admirer of David Martindale, I think he does an excellent job at Livingston, and this will likely be a tight and scrappy match.

  11. Nailed. A confidence and ability to play patiently, everyone knows & understands their role. Some contrast on recent seasons. Could be argued the manager needed a tough spell like this to see how he gets us through adversity. He’ll learn even more about his squad.

  12. Just watched the highlights and I think some of the criticism for the goals is misplaced. The first we are far too slow getting out to the cross and Casey even looks like he's going to clear it, is obviously worried abut sclaffing it into his own net so leaves it which leaves Kelly flat footed. The ball bounces right at his feet making it impossible to get as he can't commit until it's too late. I seem to remember us losing similar goals to the OF at Fir Park on more than one occasion.... For the second the the ball switches from our left to right and then then comes into the box quickly leaving us no time to shift over and Paton lets Riley run off him at the back post. It's too good a delivery for Kelly to come for IMO and Souare has his man outside him. On a positive, our goal was another great bit of interplay which seems to have been lost in all of the disappointment. Edified to add - plus Bain made several good saves. A real sore one.

  13. Suggesting we have no better players available than Bair is madness. Mugabi would probably be a better option as striker.

  14. In the long run, zero points is zero points and that can't go on. But I think most people can accept there is, in general, a difference between performances and results. If anyone's pleased about us losing, it's not the happy clappers.

  15. 100%. I think it was Melvin Bragg commented a few weeks ago that we were thin on the ground in midfield. When Butcher returns and is matchfit, I would hope he'll slot back into central defence. We have missed his aggression and organisational ability there. Given budget constraints it may need to be one midfielder. That said we may revert to playing 2 strikers when that department is fit and fully functioning. .

  18. Between last week and today we gave a good account of ourselves, were sitting in a decent position in the league with winnable games coming up and some players back from injury in the not so distant future so we're going along nicely.we deserved something from the st mirren game,we got beat last week with a lucky deflection and today was gutting at the end, hopefully with a bit of luck we can turn games like those in our favour going forward.

  19. Yeh im not going to lie, I was a little salty and whiney in my previous post today, But a lot of good came from today and last week, If you offered me last season to be battling Celtic & Rangers toe to toe and only be losing by one goal i would have ripped your hands clean off, It was mostly the players today i felt sorry for, They definitely deserved a draw and a point but whats done is done, Both ugly sisters out of the way and 3 winnable games coming up. Onwards and upwards, Will still be taking my Motherwell towel to spain next week 😎💛

  20. ImStill gutted but not going to be coming out looking to blame folk. In theory if lost 1-0 wouldn't have been gutted. I thought whole team worked so hard but main issue is we have hee haw up front. The Bair gives his all and can link play but lucky if you get 3-4 goals a season. Shaw needs games but I ain't convinced yet...but......fact we have played old firm and gutted we have lost both shows how far we have progressed..... kettlewell main man for me

  22. Bair does fit with his system of setting up to lose three games on the bounce due to signing an ineffective striker. This forum is the cloud for all of us to shout at.
