Time for the Society board to step up then! Fans will get behind them but only for so long...done plenty of talking since the proposal from Barmack came to the table, now it's time for action.5 points

Think some people on here need to have a reality check . It’s not Football Manager their playing on their Xbox Just as a matter of interest how many have taken the time to checkout Jim McMahon’s business CV ???? Answers on a post card3 points

I was hoping for a more teary eyed statement from McMahon but that will do. Blaming division in the support when the support is overwhelmingly united in being against the proposal is bullshit. Especially when they've called it off because they've done a Ruth Davidson and took a peek at the shareholder votes and seen they are getting a kicking. It's time for McMahon, Dickie and Feeley to go.3 points

I don't think anyone is expecting them to be doing the latter, stop being so fucking condescending. The Society absolutely has to start acting on its own proposal; they're already doing that based on their statement here as they're talking with Caldwell about next steps etc. We also all need to step up, too, as fans. The Society recognises the Club needs backing and that we need to do better raising funds to support it, so if we can, we should be upping our restarting our contributions just like @wellfan. It's not time for any of us to sit still and say "they'll deal with it, it'll be fine." Nope. It's time for us to be the ones making the difference, however we can.3 points

What kind of action are you expecting to see? If the Well Society was able to match Barmack's funding by putting £300,000 a year into the club it's not going to be noticeable to us as fans. Continued stability is the priority not doing stupid things like investing £4m into a crackpot business plan just to be seen to be doing something.3 points

Yeah sacking the manager two matches into the season really worked swell last time.2 points

It's not Paton's fault that he's not an attacking midfielder; it's Kettlewell's fault for playing him as one. The blame for Paton getting a target on his back lies squarely at the manager's door. As should all squad failures.1 point
-
We still need at least one wing back. Wilson isn't up to being a squad player and if the Wolves boy isn't up to starting we need a starting RWB. Casey, McGinn Balmer and Kouratoubis all play the same position. Not signing a left sided centre back will be a big mistake.1 point
-
Because he's got the tactical nous of a conservative cabbage, which was apparent for most of last season as well, so it's not an overreaction to be pissed off at a scenario repeating itself. Fortunately for him, however, he's got time and a player budget to try to build a better squad and develop a better shape with options, but if he signs another fucking wingback and holding midfielder instead of a striker and attacking midfielder, he'll be on his way out before the Club has a chance to extend his contract.1 point
-
Trying not to overreact but why does he keep playing 541 with no wingers you either play 5212 or you bring in 2 wide players with pace so we are at least a transitional threat. Painful watch.1 point

Every time we got to the edge of the box we fell to bits, we'd be absolutely mental to go into a league match with Paton and Halliday starting.1 point

I'd already be sounding out Rhys McCabe. It's pretty obvious Kettlewell isn't up to the task. Unless he pulls out a KVV/Biereth/2024 Bair we are in bother.1 point
-
How can he be so determined to play the Steve Clarke formation that he plays one up front against Montrose but still not sign a single attacking midfielder amongst the 15 contracts he's given out? Shit for brains.1 point
-
Pathetic. Miller aside, that squad has zero creativity. Kettlewell needs to replace Spittal, stop relying on duds from last season, and stop being a one-trick pony in his tactical approach to games. As it stands, this squad and those tactics can’t even cut it against League 1 opposition.1 point

Oh give it a rest, we all know you don’t like SK, you don’t need to keep going on and on about it1 point

Hopefully this is a wake up for the moron in the dugout. Paton, SOD, Halliday and Davor are all lower league shite.1 point

Exactly what we deserved. Kettlewells imitation of Steve Clarke is admirable.1 point

1-1. Deserved. We have been brutal. Shane Blaney cannot defend to save his life.1 point

Did you see that? A Motherwell goalkeeper came out and caught a cross, wow!1 point

Positive play from Robinson and a good shot from Wilson. Highlight of the night so far.1 point

Watching Paton and Halliday in advanced roles reminds me of when Stuart McCall signed Josh Law who had been playing as defender in the Conference in England and tried to make him our number 10 for about 6 weeks. Only this time there's two of them. Another 45 minutes without a shot on target from open play. What the fuck are they doing in training?1 point

We're as good from set pieces as we are shite from open play.1 point

Dundee and Ross county have owners with deep pockets who are happy to fork out wads for specific players e.g. Charlie Adam. The exact opposite of the model we are currently operating. And a model that has put Dundee into administration twice in recent years - including a 23 million pound debt and having to sell their stadium. If the choice is between that and developing another Bair, I know my preference.1 point

If I'm not mistaken the cantilever design of the Davie Cooper and South Stands could be considered when building a new main stand. The floodlight pylons for Fir Park actually are the main roof supports for those stands so I suspect they could be used to support a new main stand similar in design to the Davie Cooper...and to be honest we should have done that in the 90s during the upgrade to comply with the Taylor report. Thar said any further work on Fir Park is not cost effective. The footprint of the site isn't overly workable for one and the proceeds from sale of the land (I'd assume with a value of around 7 million when you consider the astro and stadium area) would need to be used to fund any new ground. I personally would hope for something which replicates Falkirk Stadium but fully complete with filled in corners. Falkirk's main stand has great hospitality and player facilities alongside with other usable space. The stand behind the goals has a supporters bar and the stands are of a good angle. Given the Ravenscraig new town clearly ain't happening, the council (or whoever owns the land) would be best transferring the land to the club for both stadium development and an adjacent training facility. This would bring all club operations together on a single campus and allow the club to move forward without the continuous patch up jobs we need to do every year on infrastructure.1 point

No but it is being trailed in all the news outlets so likely to be sooner rather than later.1 point

Yep time for Well Society to back up their proposals. A big job and totally respect the hard work ahead1 point

As promised, I've just doubled my monthly Direct Debit to the Well Society and have encouraged others to finally join. I hope other members now follow suit.1 point

Potentially if it impacts on travel up to Montrose; game wise it's an artificial pitch and the weather warning is due to stop around kick off.1 point

Nah, it's one of the new training tops. Saw them in the club shop on Saturday.1 point

That's a long way of saying fans would be bothered, because if we could afford anything at all, there's no way we could afford anything other than a generic "lego" stand The new stadiums I've been at often have the same issues with leg room. I think every seating designer must clothes shop in the childrens department.1 point

Well said. Keith MCrae was an accomplished out field player. Peter McCloy came on as substitute and Keith went outfield and scored our goal. Keith then played out field in our next and last league cup section game. That was the season we easily won the old second division. McCloy and McCrae shared the goalkeeper position but Keith also played a couple of games outfield1 point

The crowds we get are irrelevant, a fully seated 10K minimum capacity stadium is a ground requirement for playing in the premiership, so that's why we need 10K seats.0 points
