I get the whole meaning behind it and how massive Ravenscraig was as we all must have had a relative working there. Was devastating when it closed.
I don't like the colours though, just my opinion
Thank you pal. I appreciate that
My grandpa was teetotal. His family were quite religious and he used to have a drink once a year at new year. My gran too. But after he died my mum used to take my gran for lunch and two gins and she was drunk!! And there was the time she came to my house for dinner and she had a few Canadian clubs (steam boats). Sorry gran.
Im a terrible influence
My grandpa was called Colin Hayton. He died in 1978 when he was 61 and he was working pretty much up till he was diagnosed with bowel cancer. He was diagnosed and he died within about six months.
He worked there most of his adult life as far as I'm aware.
My family lived in Airdrie originally and then lived in Hamilton and latterly in Motherwell - they had a tied house on shields road He was a Motherwell fan but pretty sure he didn't go to games often.
I wasn't at his funeral. I was 9 when he died, my family throught it would be best for me not to be there but a lot of people from Colvilles turned out - my mum said it was packed full of people he worked with. He was a fisherman and they named a trophy after him after he died
She just said she turned around at Daldowie and there was just so many people there from his work
He was a fabulous person. I still miss him terribly.
I really like that, I like the ravenscraig link but I agree the British steel discussion from earlier. But it is a nod to the area and our family members, who most of us all have, who have connections to working there.
i like sky blue as well (much nicer than “petrol”blue imo) and it sits nicely with claret and amber. I also agree even as an old fella, I’d buy that if it had “we fkn hate thatcher” on it (as the main sponsor)
I'm long past the age of buying replica kit, but i agree its awful, no club badge not enough claret and amber, and a logo that nobody will recognise unless you tell them. and my pet hate a dodgy sponsors logo.
Another corporate creation that you don't recognise as a Motherwell kit, so no doubt it will sell well
Safety Officers are always going to rub some folk the wrong way because they are responsible for enforcing rules (and laws) some people don't like e.g. no pyro.
I know we will never turn down that kind of money if its the only deal on the table, but for me selling your best players to a rival team in your league is never a good plan.

Eseosa Sule set for Motherwell loan
Motherwell are set to snap up West Brom striker Eseosa Sule on loan.
The 19-year-old Scot will seal a deal at Fir Park until the end of the season.
Sule - who moved to The Hawthorns from Celtic - excelled for the Baggies in PL2 last term.
He’s just signed a long-term contract at the Championship club.
And new Well gaffer Jens Berthel Askou has beaten off competition to land the front-man.
Sule, who is eligible for Scotland and Nigeria, will add firepower to the Steelmen’s attack as the Danish boss prepares for his first Premiership campaign.
The teenager was being chased by the likes of Lyon and Newcastle before committing his future to West Brom this summer.
Towards the end of last season, he scored nine goals in 11 games in PL2.
The Glaswegian left Parkhead in 2023 for the Midlands before progressing through the ranks.
And now Sule will hope to kick on in Scotland’s top flight for Well.
