  1. Sadly I doubt this is anywhere near my worst take on Twitter[emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  2. I didn’t email the “football club” I emailed the Well Society, of which I am a member, to ask that they put forward my concerns to the club. That’s what the society is there for to support the club and give a voice to its fans. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  3. I know I have been cut off from using the home net I am at my local library on the fly since I was emailing the club on the hour every hour about the Robbo one come back.

  4. What a feckin ridiculous comment to make on someone's mental health issues, so now he's wild, aggressive, unstable and out of control ffs. Supporting Mental health issues is something Motherwell as a club are very strong on and something our fans should be proud of irrespective of who it is.

  5. There are rumours that Neil Lennon is in the running to be the next gaffer. Personally I think he is the worst possible candidate imaginable. I’ve seen some similar sentiment of Twitter. I have sent an email to the Well Society at (well.society@motherwellfc.co.uk) to ask they pass my objection to his possible appointment. I don’t imagine this will accomplish very much but I really can’t bare the thought of Lennon at our clubs. I am not looking to encourage anyone else to follow suit but if you feel as compelled as I do then it might help avoid such a horrible appointment. Col Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. Scott Burns reported that it wasn't Lambert, Ferguson or Thomson, and he is rarely wrong when it comes to us.

  7. I would be excited by Lambert. I was surprised by the negativity when he was mentioned last week. The fact that he does not appear to be in the frame suggests that we could not afford wage demands. I would also be excited by Neil Lennon. The chat on him has been fairly polarising today but he has managed at the top level in the game and would be a very interesting consideration. Again I don’t think we could afford his wages even if he was a good fit. I would have been fairly excited by Malky MacKay and actually if it turns out to be Simo I will be reasonably excited by that too. I guess I am just easily pleased.

  8. For me not one of the same names that get bandied around time and again, we’re already seeing the negative comments towards most of them. But it’s not my, or anyones else’s job on here to make the next appointment, frankly we’re not qualified to make that decision. The only contribution I will be making is to support whoever it is and have a bit of patience.

  9. If you're this Colin Atherton, then your 'Well credentials are in no doubt - although the same can't necessarily be said about your managerial judgement

  10. Imagine emailing a football club to voice your displeasure at a rumour your read on the internet.

  11. Fair enough. I am sure that you don’t have a prejudice against mental health issues and you have said that you have no problem with his Celtic connection. It is a bold statement to make to write to the club in protest about a potential manager so I think that more than anything was what maybe caused some misunderstanding. I remembered Leeann Dempster saying that she very much regretted the circumstances surrounding his leaving Hibs. I got the feeling that it was an admission that it was not all Lennon’s fault but I know little to nothing about it. Bolton were a shambles of a club financially and were very poorly run so again I am not sure if it a true reflection of his management abilities. He may not even be in the running so let’s not waste any more of a sunny Scottish afternoon arguing about it.

  12. First SPFL female manager to be appointed by Motherwell

  13. My objection is nothing to do with his links to Celtic. I think he’s a terrible manager. He took over a Celtic side build by Brendan Rodgers that was so strong and he systematically broke it to pieces over a couple of seasons. The gap between the side he inherited and the Rangers side of that time was massive, they could have won 15+ in a row. He dismantled them. His signings (other than Turnbull) were atrocious (Barkas, Ajeti, Duffy, Klimala, Bolingoli etc.). He also completely poisoned the dressing room and eroded the significant credibility he’d build up with their fans. Finally, the guy had a full on breakdown when he left Celtic, he’s unstable and he presents himself in such a wild, aggressive, out of control manner. I honestly think he’s the worst possible candidate for the job. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. And this is the same posters view on Barry Ferguson and Bob Malcolm. There were plenty in our support who had a problem with McCall simply because of his Rangers connections and the posts I quoted above are just a tiny example of that. Likewise the suggestion of Barry Ferguson getting the job now. I remember McCall’s first match in charge for us, New Douglas Park on New Years Day 2011. The game hadn’t even kicked off and the guy in front of me was being fairly vocal to his mate how he wasn’t best pleased to have “this (banned word beginning with H) bastard in charge now”. We’ve tended to do quite well with ex-Rangers players as our manager. McCall for all his faults did okay with us, as did Butcher and of course Tommy McLean got us promoted and won the Scottish Cup for us. Yet I can recall all three of them getting abuse in the stands at Fir Park because of their Rangers connection so it goes both ways.

  15. If Hammy gets the Aberdeen game and, considering it is a free hit for him, he doesn't deviate from the failed 4-3-3 to try a 3-5-2 or 4-3-2-1 or otherwise, he may as well withdraw his name from the hat at kick-off.

  16. What are your objections? I understand that he can be an abrasive character but if he had the skill set to turn the team around and bring a bit of excitement football back to Firpark, would that not be a good thing? My worry in these situations is that an ex Celtic man would be less palatable to small sections of our support than say a Terry Butcher ( a man that was also fairly abrasive in his time) or a Stuart McCall. I always defend the club to Celtic fans in particular who make the claim that we are a mini Rangers. Our support is generally mixed and it is a source of pride to me that we don’t carry the religious baggage of either of the OF teams. Appointing a polarising character like Lennon would underline all the more that we are a club that is not shackled by religious and political prejudice. It is not a reason to appoint him but I don’t think his football history should be a reason not to.

  17. I’d take MacKay but there is not a chance in hell that we would pay compensation to Ross County to get him. Our next manager will be someone either currently out of work or Hammell/Kerr. Unless of course Burrows decides to appoint himself which I genuinely can see happening one day.

  20. In all seriousness he is a mentally ill alcoholic with a history of domestic abuse and criminal connections. I'd take him ahead of Robinson but that's about it.

  21. Agreed. He touted using new recruitment models in his first interview in summer 2021, but what has he actually achieved other than being Alexander's pal? Let's look below. 2022/23 McGinn - Alexander signed him in an attempt to force out SOD; released by Hibs and easy to get Spittal - Easy to get replacement for O'Hara; known in Scottish system Morris - Alexander's former player and pals with KVV, so not down to Daws 2021/22 Shields - Signed at the same time as Daws joined; a 3-year project, but not good enough Goss - Decent KVV - Alexander's former player, so not down to Daws Woolery - Average journeyman who they let go Tierney - Promising Nirrenold - Not good enough and released O'Connor - Not good enough and released Kelly - We had him on loan long before Daws was on the scene Roberts - On the scene before Daws but we let go Sol - Crap Efford - Crap Ojala - Signed a Finnished pro Slattery - Decent Shaw - Wasted wage Mahon - B team Amaluzor - Crap Parker - Crap Summary For every Slattery/Goss/KVV/Tierney, we've been dealt a volume of shite sandwiches. And some of the appointments wouldn't have required a Head of Recruitment either. We need a new managerial, academy, and recruitment model that works for our type of Club.

  22. That would be up there with Robinson coming back. Why does the old 'managerial merry go round' love to tout people who have managed bigger clubs and failed ? What, anywhere, in Lennons CV would suggest that he can create a team that can punch above it's weight ? His last managerial job didn't exactly end well. And ignoring his managerial achievments for a second, the guy is a cunt.
