Rule 201. The SFA introduced it in 2011, and have handed out a few two game bans for it since then. The additional two suspended is new, though.

Two of them suspended, but does seem harsh even if he was being an eejit. Should stop him doing it again, at least
  3. Trouble is, "blatantly obvious" is just as much a judgement call as any other way you can decide it with a human involved. Until the ball and everyone's extremities have millimetre-perfect position sensors in them and offside calls are made my some magically-infallible computer, there will always be controversial decisions.
  4. Was always more concerned about this one than I was about Hibs, so yesterday’s performance doesn’t bode well. Wouldn’t be too gutted with another draw, would be nice to start scoring again though.
  5. It's a simple enough rule in theory, unfortunately it comes down to making a judgement call about a player's intent which refs are never going to get right every time. In this case, Longelo wasn't even facing the ball half the time it was in the air from the corner, and by the time he was facing it there was no way he could play it as there was someone else in the way. So I guess that's why they decided he wasn't making a genuine attempt to do so.
  6. Mibbe, mibbe not, who knows what he'd have done with a full preseason and the chance to sign a few more Lukas Fadingers.
  7. Slightly suspicious that TJ was rolling around holding a rather different part of his body than where he appeared to be elbowed, but whatever...
  8. ICT have also played two fewer games than us, so still time for them to blow it.
  9. Big difference this time, from what I remember, is that we spent a lot of time at the top of the league that season, so it felt like we threw it away at the end. I don't think anything else we do or don't do this season could make it feel like that.

    Red Card Law

Making referees decide what is an accidental slip or stumble versus a player pretending to slip or stumble (or not even trying to pretend but getting away with it anyway) sounds like it would result in even more controversial decisions. At least with the current rules they don't have another judgement call to make.
  11. Fielding half a different team will certainly give Aberdeen something to think about, I guess.
  12. Been wondering that myself. I don't think I'd actually be that gutted if we were papped out tonight, assuming it's not a result of another St Mirren-esque performance or a ludicrous refereeing error. But some folk seem to be thinking if we don't win something with this team we never will, and hopefully things won't turn too negative on here if that happens as there will still be plenty to play for (and hopefully, wins and performances to enjoy).
  13. They usually have the top home attendance in Australia, averaging around 15,000. Their new stadium, which they share with a couple of rugby teams, holds about 42,000 - not sure where they’re playing in that video, but it’s not that one. (Auckland who play in the same league have had slightly higher attendances in recent years, but they’re in NZ of course.)
  14. Also, it always feels (to me at least) like we're not playing as well when it's pissing it down and the pitch doesn't look great, even though we probably are.
  15. We’re not really a scudding sort of team under JBA, and that’s fine by me. (But doesn’t 4-0 the other week count as a scudding anyway?)
  16. Stam and Thor up top now, let's see if we have a new partnership in the making...
  17. Get Ap Stam on now, if he can't score today he never will.
  18. Playing against 10 men used to give me the fear, let's see how we do today. EDIT: Well, that answers that.
  19. Simply people mis-hearing "should've" as "should of". It's not a new thing, according to the OED the oldest recorded usage is 1814, and Charlotte Brontë used it in a letter in 1853.
  20. Kept waiting on the inevitable VAR check before I remembered...
  21. And that's how you hit a team on the break.
