Much as I hate to defend them, they don't have much choice, really. They can't help how much money they have in the bank, their fans know how much that is, and they expect and demand that most of it spent on players. But just like the rest of us, they can only sign folk who actually want to play in our comparatively diddy league. They could certainly spend more of it on youth development, but even if they doubled their current budget for that it wouldn't make a huge dent in what they have left over to spend on transfers.

A team and a manager that gel as well as ours did last year is always a fluke to some extent. That's why we all knew we just had to enjoy it while it lasted.

I also see folk complaining (albeit on Zuckbook) that he was anonymous and they'd pretty much forgotten he was there. Probably one of the better traits a CEO can have if you ask me, but only if you're getting results I suppose.

My main takeaway from that is that I've never heard of players who change hands for £40m+ these days.

We're unbeaten in the league with a 50% win rate, which is fine by me at this stage. I'm not even that bothered how we get on today, as we'll inevitably be a bit knackered and will have had about 5 minutes to work on any specific tactics for today's game.

Had forgotten that, like our new boy, he spent some time on loan at De Graafschap. Hopefully a good omen for JK...

If everyone just blocked him he'd give up. Only time I ever see his guff is when people rise to the bait and reply to him.

There's zero chance it's happening, but I can still see it going one of two ways. Either they'll be happy knowing the job is done and look to cruise to a 1 or 2 nil win, or they'll want to put on a show for their first home game of the season and stick 6 past us.

I wouldn't want that either. Winning every game sounds dead boring, and leads to the sort of entitled fanbase the OF are blessed with.

But we all know how likely that is to happen.
