  1. Their third penalty of the game, too.
  2. "80mins - Caley are battering the 'Well goal. Rooney fires wide, as does Sutherland. Come on 'Well - please hold on!"
  3. 54mins - Great free-kick from Hateley almost leads to a third but Saunders can't connect at the back post. 63mins - Motherwell are playing some great stuff! Saunders broke into the box but his shot is deflected wide. 65mins - Saunders goes close again... Hateley ball from the right is met by the full-back but his header drops wide.
  4. 48mins - Motherwell almost make it three. Great wee free-kick has Hammell dinking it up for Sutton but the header drops wide. 51mins - Superb ball from Gow plays Blackman in. Defenders do well to get back to cover but his shot flys just over the bar.
  5. "HT: Great first-half from the Steelmem. Game is still alive though and you fancy we've not seen the end of the scoring."
  6. "43mins - Out of nothing, Motherwell double their lead. Long range shot deflected off Grant Murno before looping over Esson and into the net."
  7. GOOALLLLLLLLL Nick Blackman!
  8. "Humphrey plays a 1-2 with Hateley from a corner. Cross takes out the GK and Gow heads home from a few yards out."
  9. Nope, seems the industrial action at the BBC has put paid to most of the commentaries today. Best bet might be to follow the game via the MFC twitter feed: http://twitter.com/motherwellfc
  10. Looked fine to me... certainly not the worst by a long chalk.
  11. And as for the lack of badge, it did have the "MFC" lettering on it which I always thought was quite stylish, and which we've brought back on away kits in recent years.

  13. Remember it well enough, but have to say at that age I just thought it was cool that we were getting our strips from Adidas It wasn't half as flourescent as the boots John McKeever wore with it, though.

You don't have to be, but it's kind of traditional. How many statues of living people can you think of?

Er, a wee bit premature for that sort of talk, surely.
  16. If it had been that good, Jimbo wouldn't have had to perform acrobatics to get to it
  17. Not surprised in the least. I'm sure we won't be the only SPL team in the same boat.
  18. One of which was true at the time, and the other of which is still true. Still a not the most advisable thing to say when you're leaving, though... you never know when you might have to come back.
  19. No need to wonder. We wouldn't, because I'd imagine most of us feel we'd have had a better chance of beating Celtic.
  20. Can't say it was for me... we so completely failed to turn up that day that we didn't even offer enough of a performance to be upset about. I've barely given it a second thought since.
  21. Ah, this old chestnut... how many times have we discussed this on the boards now? IMHO, almost by definition, club legends only come around once every generation or so. The legends of my generation are the '91 Cup Winning team, and (at a stretch) Faddy. The generation before that had the likes of Wark, Pettigrew and Graham. Just don't think the next generation has found theirs yet... the 2011 CIS Cup winning team, perhaps...?

Good news. Always takes a good couple of months to recover from that sort of procedure, so sounds like he's pretty much on track so far.
  23. The square/hot/cold balls theory debunked
  24. Nobody in the SPL has even really looked like running Rangers close over 90 minutes so far this season, so I'd happily take Aberdeen then Celtic. Or better still, Celtic then Aberdeen

Hate to say it, but if it's really Alzheimer's he's got, I'm afraid he won't be getting better :/
