Liverpool line-up was: Bruce Grobbelaar, Jim Beglin, Barry Venison, Gary Gillespie, Alan Hansen, Steve Nicol, Jan Molby, Steve McMahon, Kenny Dalglish, John Wark, Ian Rush.
No' a bad side.
That was a couple of days of madness in Belfast, so unlikely to have any bearing... was hardly a national vendetta anyway, and many of the Romanian families affected have started to returned to their homes there.
Would certainly be an easy enough jaunt down the road to Inchicore for me though... might be worth a visit, especially as I never made it over for any of our own home ties.
We did, but let's be honest, Steau didn't really have to try all that hard last night. And despite that, they still scored with every shot they had on target, bar one save Ruddy had to make right near the end.
It was certainly a tenacious performance by our guys, but I have to say I don't think for a minute Steau would have let us score three or four without reply.
We have indeed, but perhaps a more important question is, do we look like a better team after the sixth game than we did after the first one? Don't think there's much doubt that we do, so provided we can keep moving in that general direction, I'm sure we'll do alright.
Or perhaps even the Falkirk game on October 3rd, as he had a pretty good three seasons for them, too. Might be just a wee bit too late by then though, I suppose.
I've been saying that for years every time somebody moans about Scottish referees... have never really seen much evidence that ours are any better or worse than anywhere else's, on average.
Let's also not forget that Craggs has started over 250 games for us (and come on as a sub in another 13), so if the figure of 6 OGs is about right, then that's only about one per season on average. When you're playing in central defence for a team like us that's going to be under the kosh in more games than not, it's not such a high figure really.
Think there's some truth in that, although much of that first 15 minutes was probably in turn due to the preparations in Austria-- we probably had one of the fittest squads in the SPL that day, and for some time into the season.
