Which would be a fine recommendation, if Fir Park was a golf course. I can't imagine two much more different grass playing surfaces to look after than a golf course and a fitba' pitch, though. What's his record with those?

It seems ridiculous to me that the players are training on it at all when it's in such a mess, let alone under a heated dome. I can imagine exactly where Andy Russell would have told Mark McGhee to stick that idea, regardless of how far away the nearest usable alternative training facilities were!

Not really, because if he hadn't scored, that means something else happened instead. That "something else" could have lead, directly or indirectly, to any number of other outcomes...

Personally, I'd be inclined just to send Leitchy up the road to take care of the team for the Inverurie game, and have McGhee stay behind to do any transfer business. (If there was any to be done, which I wouldn't bet on.)

Yep, agree he probably just needs a rest, no doubting his potential and his performances up to the end of last season, at least. His main recurring fault this year (although I obviously don't see the full 90 mins of every game from here, but I've heard all the ones I haven't seen) seems to be how easily he's been turned by opponents, leading directly to at least two goals that I can remember-- hopefully something that any decent coach should be able to sort out.

I don't see much point in retiring it now, personally. Would have been different if we'd decided to leave it out this year, as then it would have been harder to know if/when to bring it back. But since Clarky wanted to wear it, it would seem a bit odd to suddenly drop it again at some point in the future when everyone involved has (hopefully) moved on somewhat.

Sounds a bit like anybody's game now... next goal the winner?
