I think that's really the point some other folk were trying to make: that Coop wasn't a Motherwell legend, he was just a legend.

FWIW, I'm not sure I really consider Coop to be a Motherwell legend... he was certainly one of the most talented footballers I'm ever likely to see at Fir Park, and I've no doubt he thoroughly enjoyed his five years with us. But there was only ever one team for him, and it wasn't Motherwell. (Or Clydebank...)

While I'm reasonably inclined to believe that Chris really doesn't know what he's going to do yet, anyone with more than a couple of brain cells (and no gripes with the club) isn't going to publicly say anything other than that at this stage anyway... and especially not within earshot of anyone who might be quoting him on the official website

There always used to be trouble on and off the park when we played them in the 80's... I suspect a lot of it stems from that. With the likes of Wayne Foster, Walter Kidd and Gary Mackay playing for them in those days, what wasn't to hate?

So why delay the payment until January, on which you're now having to pay six months' interest to Arbroath, when if you have no financial issues you could presumably just have paid it back in August when they asked for it...?
