  1. anybody got any real info regarding potential signings? anything on that Marcus Bean guy who was linked with us and is a free agent?
  2. im more than a bit sure McFadden said he wants to finish his career at Motherwell. By the time he is maybe 33+ or so he will have made all the money he can in football and that will not be his reason for coming back, it will be because it is the team who he came through the ranks at, obviously cares about and he believes still can do a shift wee article i stumbled across: http://www.thescotti...assing-Fad.html "was north of the border on a few days’ leave from Everton... Faddy phoned the club he left in 2003 and joined in training." “It was a very kind gesture by Motherwell and I am grateful to them for letting me train with the boys." “Everybody made me feel very welcome and it was great to see all the office staff too. Motherwell will always have a place in my heart because the club and the people mean a great deal to me.”
  3. apparently Isiaih Osbourne is on 5.5k a week..

  5. the main thing is the manager in question has failed with the bid! also would take big Haber from St J, decent young player
  6. Jonny Hayes anyone? out of contract, wont have been on a big wage in Inverness and perhaps finally a decent left-footed midfielder. surely Motherwell a better prospect than Aberdeen..
  7. He's been linked with Crystal Palace for ages though, apparently they have been watching him for a long time so thats not surprising, but if Blackpool get promoted to the PL, its not like hes got much of a chance then
  8. anyone think there is a chance of Faddy coming back? seeing as he said he wanted to end his career at Motherwell, is playing for Everton Reserves, and could play Champions League football for his boyhood club? hes still 28, but even a short term thing? i dont know, just a thought..
  9. Totally agree! was in the 'gossip column' the other day that he might be in for a return to Ayr United.. surely we should be sniffing around. But also agree with the comment about Higdon and Murphy, Higdon cannot play upfront by himself, he gets so isolated and i dont think Murphy is a proper 'striker'. If we want to keep up with the top half (basically Hearts) we need to get a decent striker in on loan or whatever and Mccall needs to be willing to change tactics! too many midfield players for a team with a limited budget. i fear a slip in the table but hopefully he proves me wrong
  10. missed the game but how did Ojaama play/ how long did he get!?
  11. heard he would regularly refuse to train at Hibs and would refuse to even go for a jog around when John Hughes was manager and heard when he was in China he decided he wouldnt turn up at the club for a couple of weeks in mid-season. and theres obviously his well publicized night club bans so i think it wouldnt be wise to take a punt on him
  12. As far as I'm aware the SPL's UEFA Coeffincey Ranking has seen us drop to 19th, meaning 1 Champions League place and 3 Europa League, compared to last year when we were in 15th which gave us 2 CL places and 2 EL. Either way, finishing 2nd, 3rd or 4th would only mean one less or more qualifying round.
  13. I seriously wonder what scouts think when they see Humphrey play, http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_7354011,00.html Skysports.com understands a host of Premier League and Championship sides are tracking Motherwell winger Chris Humphrey. It is believed representatives from Swansea, Sunderland, Newcastle, Bolton, Leicester, Birmingham and Rangers were all in attendance for Friday's game against Hibernian, only for the game to be abandoned at half-time due to an electrical fire. Flying wide-man Humphrey has been earning rave reviews in the SPL..
  14. Went for european place simply because thats what i really want to see, and with our squad is actually reasonably realistic. In my opinion european nights are the best and no domestic cup run can replicate that for me, playing the same old teams
  15. The fact remains :- Rangers current squad cost £27.22 million Celtics current squad cost £25.1 million Motherwells current squad cost £0 We are over acheiving even to compete with the OF, and it is frankly unfair but when will it change? probably never
  16. My guess would be Aaron Lennon - Rapid!
  17. Looks like someone has been having a bit of fun!! Esteban Casagolda is a Spanish Football Forward currently a free agent after his release from Scottish Premier League club Motherwell. The striker has spent most of his professional career in Belgium before being spotted by football agent Jonathan Hope and offered a trial at Stockport County. He was then offered a trial with Motherwell and, after impressing the Fir Park club, he was subsequently awarded a one-year deal.[1] He then made his debut in the 3-2 defeat to Hibernian. Casagolda was to be only a squad player, who would make only 3 starts for the club. He left the club in the summer of 2011.[2] Casagolda is subject to a bidding war towards the end of the European Transferwindow. No other teams than Manchester City, Inter Milan and Bayern Muich trying to sign the Striker on a permanent deal. Also states his goal scoring for Motherwell as 12 in 12.. hahaha if only! Although the whole thing doesnt make sense, was pretty funny
  18. good shout, completely forgot about that, wouldnt mind another result like that mind you!
  19. would love to see motherwell pump them and run up a big score with higdon getting some goals and confidence. out of interest, when was the last time we won by 4 or more goals against any team?
  20. Anybody noticed that our mascots wear last seasons strip and the seasons before one without matching shorts.. surely they should wear our new one isnt that what puma and cash convertors would want..? anyway we should get one like the Portlan Timbers MLS team in USA where the mascot is a lumberjack and saws up a tree with a chainsaw during the game
  21. i dont see why we should flood the midfield since we are the ones playing nice football at the moment, unlike Rangers? They should flood the midfield to stop us passing the ball around but no doubt the OF dont do that against anyone else but each other as we are all inferior. Surely/Hopefully if we keep the ball then this will frustrate them and bring out there lack of discipline like agaisnt Malmo. But that could be to our advantage if we take the game to them, keep possesion and attack with pace and conviction like against Inverness CT i see no reason why we cant win, as long as the referee doesnt give them dubious decisions. Of course you can look at the past results but there really meaningless when it comes to the game itself. In saying that though they can create goals from nothing and I will be optimisticly shitting myself on Sunday
  22. either way we are going to have to play very well to get a result. We have such a bad record against Rangers home and away. Will be interesting to see how we do agaisnt them in our first real test of the season.
  23. read an article about him the other day, said he never goes to the gym and his physique is a gift from god.. and hes been that size since he was 16!
  24. He is out for 10 days with a thigh injury and will be back for the St Mirren game.
  25. Is it just me or did anybody else think Hateley had an absolute shocker? Bar 1 excellent ball for Murphy in 2nd half he defended horribly and crossed dreadfully. Overall was very enjoyable game, good atmosphere (in our end), Killie supporters were almost the worst ive ever seen, completely dead. I thought McHugh looked like a nice player, a bit Scott Mcdonald-esk and put himself about considering it was his 1st start. Murphy disappeared for a while and he needs to stay involved more and look for the ball, in that respect he can learn from Law i think who is always trying to create something. Hutchy was solid as was Craigan and Hammel. Humphrey looked a bit unconfident and seemed to doubt himself when it came to taking the full back on but when he did he began to cause problems. However he whole team looked shattered in the last 10 minutes and i think Mccall really needs to bring in a couple new players at least. And a point is a very good result considering they should of had a stonewall penalty in the 1st minute. Also like to say Killie had some excellent players, there right winger, black striker in 1st half, and black left winger who came on in 2nd all looked particularly dangerous. EDIT: James Dayton, Ben Hutchison, Silva. Not an away point to be scoffed at!
